Chapter 307 - Calliope

Zip! A Wrench flew through the air and was caught by a small hand. The Hand of Calliope.

"Thank you- Thank you so much. I didn't have the cash to get any of the repai-" Suddenly the thin mans voice was cut off by the high pitched voice of Calliope.

"Yeah yeah yeah, Whatever. Don't mention it." She was an average height girl. Only at 5'7 or 170 cm. Her frame was slim, with decently toned arms from the constant lifting of metal for fixing ships.

Pink hair in a bob with two large bangs at the side of her with a longer back in that didn't pass her neck. One thing that was obvious about her appearance was how mature she looked, though, often some pointed out rather rudely that she was flat chested.

But that didn't matter to her.

"You really are life saver though…" The man attempted to continue. But he relented and kept quiet. Calliope just ignored the man as she walked around the ship.

But as she did, metal zipped through the air around the warehouse building, the large heaps of scrap metal that was organized into piles, crates and shelves began to move on their own! Forming well constructed flat platforms beneath Caliope!

"H-How are you doing that?" The man asked as he stepped back, a sheet of metal behind him suddenly shifting causing him to duck as the Metal formed into a large bracket to be put into the ship

"I ate a Devil Fruit. I call it the Metal Fruit. But I think Magnetism is a better way to describe it."

The Jiki-Jiki no Mi. Or the Mag Mag fruit Better known as the Magnet Magnet fruit. It allowed Calliope to control and manipulate all magnetic metal around her. And given her keen, creative mind, she used it to create exact objects she imagined. Instead of just heaps of metal.

The Door to the Warehouse creaked open. A Teenage boy walked in, he was muscular with a buzzed head, a tank top on his chest.

This was Chester. One of the Many Orphans that was apart of Calliopes 'Gang.' They weren't a true gang, they didn't run a protection racket or anything. Nor did they sell illicit substances. They just caused a racket in the city. Property damage, vandalism and the like. Why? Honestly? She thought it was funny. It wasn't Malicious in her mind. And if it was really, the Mayor would have gathered up the Brigade, the Local Law Enforcement, and had her arrested and taken to the Nearby Marine Base.

But, instead. All that happened was Winslow yelling at her and chasing her off before finding her and giving her a lecture. Oddly, tonight the Lecture was late. She was kinda waiting for him to come and offer his usual spiel of offering her a better place to live. And see the the few that took up the offer and got housing. While others preferred this rather punk underground life style

"What's up Chester?" She asked without even looking. Chester sauntered over, passing a few of the other Orphans that were working on their own projects.

"Where'd you put those Blueprints at?" He asked.

"Hah? What Blueprints?" Calliope asked

"Those- Old ones. The ones that you had in that chest for a while with some of the other stuff like those pearls, and those schematics for the Rider."

Rider. A Motorcycle that Calliope had designed. "Oh-Those. Yeah I burned 'em!" She said nonchalantly

"Huh?! What- Why? All of em?!" He had a worried look on his face

"Tch-Yeah! Of course. I forgot. You're new here. All those ones you saw last night were just the most recent ones. I just never got around to the old one. Felt kinda bad."

"But it's fine. It's all in my head." She gave a tap to the side of her head with the wrench

"O-Oh…" Chester seemed embarrassed as he rubbed the back of his head

"Anyway." She finally turned around and walked down, stairs appearing in front of her as she did.

"Why'd you wanna see 'em anyway?"

"Oh- Uh. They just seemed interesting. I know I asked you really out of nowhere yesterday but- I just wanted to see the cool stuff you had."

"Oh. Okay. Well- I guess I'll show you my next ones when they're done."

"Oh my lord…" Spoke the Appraiser of the Big Value Gold Silver and Jewel building. One of the banks and cashout stores where people could take out loans and also store money. As well as trading silver.

"These jewels. They're so finely cut. And you say you found them in an abandoned ship that you went fishing from?" The man had a set of glasses with multiple magnification lenses that could be flicked down. His mustache was large and curled, his hair balding and a light brown that flared out into curves at the side of his head.

"Yep." Kirk said, leaning back with his arms crossed. Crossing his legs, causing the black gator pants her wore to squeak slightly. Arms crossing over his thin white cropped tank top that had a star on the front of it.

Leroy. Said nothing. He was letting Kirk handle this. Just as the Navigator had told him he'd do.

"This. This is so much. It took 30 minutes just to line it all up." The table in front of them in the backroom was filled with so much Gold, silver, Jewelry, Jewels, and even Berry Notes and Coins.

The crates after crates and Chest after chest piled up that blocked a window next to them. Block the light from entering into the white and red room.

"This could be worth…Billions. Even with some of these-" He gestured his hands to a stack of more lower quality uncut gems and lower Karat Gold and Silver. Having taken samples from every chest to get a good average

"Lower quality samples. The Average I could say is close to 14 billion…" Leroys eyes widened. But quickly regained his composure. Keeping that poker face.
