The sound of scraping filled the air. Followed by the rhythmic thumping of an object against ceramic. Running water complimenting the noises.
Looking into the mirror, Leroy drug a razor against his skin, shaving small patches of hair against his cheeks and on his neck, before washing away the whiskers.
This was something he did almost every other day due to how quickly facial hair grew on the Captains face, strong beard genetics in his family
Giving one last tap to the sink, the knobs squeaked as the water stopped flowing. The door in the storage room creaked open as Leroy walked past the shelf with all his treasures, the knife of Bonney, the larger knife of Ruger, the Mace and gun of Rojo, and the tooth of Barnum was kept on him at almost all times in his sash's pocket.
Another Four days had passed since the ships cleaning and maintenance. The weather had picked back up, letting the ship sail at a steady 12.4 knots for a couple of hours a day
"Better?" Noir asked as he leaned on the outside wall from the door that lead into the storage. He and the First mate had done their own trims, but only the Chef had done up his hair to be puffed up in the front. A hand ran through to give it texture
"Better. Sometimes I forget to shave, and then the hair gets on my nerves." He rubbed his smooth face.
It was another hour, Leroy sitting out on the palm of the ship when the Island they'd been traveling towards finally came into view. Leroy and Jeannes eyes widening as they both were looking towards the Horizon
"There it is!" Leroy shot up to his feet and pointed.
At the speed the ship was traveling, the hazy peak came fully into view, revealing the full form of the Island!
It was like a giant sculpture of stone, it was a huge elevated structure. An enormous stone wall surrounded bits of land with buildings and docks across them. Across the wall were large sections like that of arches carved into it with water flowing down them in huge amounts like tremendous artificial water falls, each one had a number set on top of it. The one immediately in view labeled '4'
Next to the Waterfalls were slanted pieces of land with buildings ascending up onto the walls, with in viewing distance of the cascades
These pieces of land extended down before cutting off and then out into other mini islands around the Water Capital, some having as few as one building on them, while others were filled with scrap metal and abandoned ships!
But as for the main island, the wall was only part of it. Continuing up into a cone, set in the middle of it, elevated in fact, was a conal shape structure that had buildings after buildings lined across it, cut into multipole sections by large river like canals of cascading water. Even from the distance Leroy and Jeanne were at, they could see that the streets were filled with water! The Shine of azure and white giving it away!
Continuing up, the first section of the island was stopped by another wall! Just like the one first seen, was shrunken down to fit and elevate up another hundred meters up, smaller cascades of water lining across its surface while at top it was another section of the city!
This time, the building looked much more residential due to their size. But the style of Architeture was far too distant to be made out.
But the Island was still not finished. Going up, yet again, was another wall that was small enough to be stacked atop the previous section like a cake, but instead of holding up buildings, it held up something even more staggering!
The Final peak of the Island held fountains! Not just one, but multiple flat top fountains that had geysers of millions of tons of water flowing out of them, as in the middle of it was a taller one!
But instead of a bowl, was a ship! A Giant ship that was simply designed served as the bowl as a huge powerful, concentrated geyser of water shot out of it gloriously before pouring back down onto the deck of the ship, and then out of carved sections like a dam to pour into the other fountains below it!
"Woah! Look at that!" Kirk said with dazzling eyes, mouth agape.
"Theres so many ships…" Noir was stunned as so many ships came and went from the smaller islands and sections of the city next to the waterfalls.
Even in their entire journey across the Grand Line, they'd only visited a populated island like this once before, but since it had been embargoed and all ships in and out were denied. They'd never been able to glimpse the staggering amount that could surround an island in just day to day activities
"Wow look at that!" Dezzi hopped and leaned onto the railing pointing to a waterfall labeled '6'
Inside the concave carved section where water fell, ships as big as galleons sat next to each other, only for in the next moment, a huge stone wall that curved the same way as the waterfall was lifted from the sea! It took a few minutes, but the number 6 came into view as the door was fully shut.
Then, after a few more minutes of watching, the crew was left in amazement as the ships from before were no longer at the bottom of the wall but now a top it! Floating and bobbing in another body of water that was on top of the wall!
"It must work like a Waterlock." Raven said, rubbing her chin. "The water from that flows is cut off, and then left to fill the space, causing it and the ships to rise into the next part of the city. Must be the same way that those other walls work as well."
"Yeah. Thats what I was thinkin' too…" Leroy gave a scratch to his cheek.
