Chapter 277 - The Rules Of Liars Dice

Wagers: Not only are dice wagered. But in this game, so to will be information. In the eyes of the gambler, Information was far more thrilling of a thing. It allowed for even more stress. More thrill. It did not matter if there was no ability to actually loose any of it. It was the same way of disappointment of being told you would get something. Only to never see what it is.

That was what the Gambler Explained…

The Ultimate Game of Liars Dice…

Liars Dice.

One of the Most Popular games from gamblers to scoundrel and all those in between.

The Rules were Simple. At the beginning of every game, a person has to makes a wager, much like an ante in card games such as hold 'em or poker. It can be anything, from a single berry to information.

After which, each player on the board rolls their dice beneath or in their cup. After which they are given their 'hand'. It is utterly random

Thats where the real game begins.

The first in the turn, will make a 'Bet' or 'Bid'. Where they attempt to guess the truth of the board. Or Spread a lie. Common bids are guessing something like 'two 4's' or 'one 3'. Which would be both safe and reasonable.

But the Game is Truly about deception. And keeping a 'Poker Face'

Something more risky is telling the Truth, and Guessing what also lies underneath your Opponents cups. If you have 'Four 5's' and you bet 'Three 5's' this is both truthful and an extremely small likelihood that there is that amount on the entire board. So that the next time if the Opponent doesn't raise face. And you Bid 'Four 5's'

It begins to seem that you're both risking it, and Lying. A fine line between Deception and Telling the Truth.

On raising face, if you can 'One 1' then your opponent Raises to 'Two 1's' you can then have the ability to 'Raise Face' without raising the number of dice. Such as 'One 3' being greater than the previous bid. But-

Each bid must be worth more than the Previous. Rather by raising the face value, or the Amount of Dice. The Bid constantly Escalates.

'Liar!' is what's called when you believe that your opponent is Lying about their Bid.

Then each Hand is revealed.

If they were indeed lying, the Wager goes to Accuser

But if they were telling the Truth. The Wager goes to the Accused.

In many variations of Liars Dice, things such as Ones are Wild Cards, meaning they can be whatever the Bidder wishes.

In other Variations include at the end of every round after the Liar is Called, whoever is the loser, loses a dice.

The Variety that The Gambler and The Captain were going to be Playing was Known as Common hand. Each Player is given five dice, and the first person to make a bid is chosen at random

"Do you Understand?" Asked the Blonde

"Yeah…I think so." He said, leaning forward , resting his hand on his chin.

"Great! 'Beginners Dice'" She said, raising a finger. A dice appearing and floating off its tip.

"To determine who will go first, a roll will be made. If it's odd, I go first. But if its even. You go first."

With a flick of her hand the dice tumbled across the table. Each party looking in anticipation of who was going to be the one to make the first move

"Yes-!" Leroy said as he clenched his fist. 'This means that I can control this match if I play it right.'

"I wouldn't celebrate too soon." The Gambler smiled.

"Why's that?"

"That means that you determine the value of our wagers, and mean your first move will determine how the rest of this round goes. You may just give me the Advantage"

She rested her hand on her cheek, wrapping her fingers against her cheek.

'If I decide the wager on the first round, and wager somehow the freedom of the Crew. It wouldn't be in my favor. This is the first round, and I haven't even determined her reasoning, power, or even her name…Best to start the opening Wager small…'

"I wager my Name. Unless you already know who I am."

"Your name? That I do not know. In return, I'll wager the Information of my own."

If he lost. He did not lose his name. But he would lose the possibility of learning hers.

Each of them then picked up their cups, and shook them, The Gambler slamming her cup on the Table with an Expert finesse, and timing. Clearly she had everything down to a routine. As for the Captain, he shook the cup between his hands for a full ten seconds, only then Slamming the cup into the table.

He tipped his cup, and revealed the dice.

Two 1's. One 5. One 3, One 2.

A Single Pair

A Single Pair…

'Start low. I can bluff with this first bet. And tie in the Truth of my hand later. But, based on the rules, she could very well tell a large truth, and force me to raise and then call me a Liar.'

"Two 2's." He lowered his cup down. Stating that at least two 2's were on the board in total

"Two 2's, Huh? Alright." She grinned "Four 2's." The Gambler peeked under her own Cup.

One 2. Two 4's. Two 3's.

Two Pairs.

'A Simple Raise. But it just might send him into a Frenzy. It seems like he doesn't know how to play.' The Gambler Thought, keeping that simple grin plastered across her lips

But the Captain's Thoughts were the same.

'Just raising my own Bet. Clever. Could be forcing me to reveal a Truth about my hand.'

"Two 3's."
