Chapter 257 - Field of Battle

The next few days went by rather quickly. Each day was marked by a challenge that the Crew had to overcome.

The First Day had to do with Jeanne taking on an enemy that seemed to never be within sight of her. Even with her devil fruit and attempting to use a scope she made on the fly. She couldn't seem to find who ever it was shooting arrows from the brush that surrounded the Field.

Initially she had gone to the Field to scavenge for some Supplies. But it seemed that an Unspoken rule of the Tournament was, the moment you entered the field, you were free game

It was late night. The Field was quiet. And Jeanne had made sure to sneak through a section of the field free of camps. Figuring that since it was late, she'd have a better chance of finding something left behind away from possible disturbance

Only for a glint out of the corner of her eye to register at the last possible second! Something inside her caused her to flinch, causing her to almost instinctively shift into her steam!

The ball that impacted into the ground cratered slightly from the force. "Shit…My shoulder would've been broken if…"

"What did I do?" She said looking herself over right as another shot zipped through the air!

This one was way too fast! She had only a partial moment to shift into her steam form!

Jeanne Ran Through the field as the spheres flew faster and faster. Nothing she did seemed to work. Smoke screens, attempting to calculate the trajectory of where they were coming from.

It was only when she noticed that the projectiles came one after another from two separate directions did the Marskwoman begin to understand!

After a few more shots she began to deduce that it wasn't just coming from more than one direction. It was coming from the same direction, but was being changed.

The Culprit was a Skyderian utilizing their ability to manipulate the wind to shift the course of their projectiles! Giving the illusion of multiple attackers!

They were a bit too far away. So jeanne had to make an on the fly modification, mixing a few things in her satchel together, she made a piece of Ammunition that would allow it to fly at the fastest possible speed allowed by gunpowder!

Her shot was true! And impacted at a spectacular speed in front of the Camouflaged! Sending them back harsh enough to slam into a jungle tree behind!

The Second Day was a Day for Dezzi.

A Bit of a Surprise was that the day after Jeannes Encounter. Dezzi offered to go into the Fields for a Solo fight. Their reasoning was

"I may be a Doctor. But if I'm to help people. I'll need to learn to fight to defend them too."

The Doctor had come far. From wanting to not fight, to being forced to in Arabasta, to then willingly. And now doing so to improve themselves.

"I think I shall do the Same." Raven spoke, closing her book. "I think it's about time I actually put in a bit more work. Wouldn't you say, Captain?"

"Heh- You've done plenty already!" Leroy said Kicking his feet as read on the ground.

"Well. Best to show off then?" She said gracefully walking over to the Ledge of the Valley, and raising her arms she blossomed the limbs of her Hana Hana Fruit. A Staircase of hands descending into the Fields out limits. A sort of 'Sidelines' while the main combat occurred near the middle

"I'll make sure not to Interfere, Dez." She said as she began to stride through the field towards the middle.

Dezzi gave a smug smile and a nod, before dashing through the field!

"Shock Paw! Rapid!" The Doctor yelled as they impacted their hand into the first person they spotted, before sending out a dozen punches filled with electro in half a second! Sending their first opponent tumbling meters backwards

"Pouncing Shock Paw!" The Doctor Dodged from a volley of arrows that stuck into the ground like a pin cushion! Out of Nowhere, the Doctor zipped from the view from the Skyderians! Bouncing from place to place, their legs coated in electro to allow for every jump to shock their opponents!

The Mink bounced between Eight opponents, shocking each of them before skidding to a stop!

They Breathed heavily as their legs rapidly paced them across the field. Going from opponent to opponent. Hitting them in just the right way to knock them off their feet but ensuring not to hurt them to any serious extent. As per both the rules and The Doctors own wishes.

They did however come across someone who was considered quite the prodigy among Skyderians. A Man who was said to be one of the best farmers in the Nations due to his ability to lift so much weight! It was said that he could lift two hundred hay bales with no problem!

The Man from the Blood Orange Team slammed fist after fist into the ground. Even being able to strike and hurt the mink! Causing decent bruises to form!

But the Mink finished their 'Training' off with one solid attack!

"Crescent Shock!" Flying up into the air, The Doctor spun in a crescent before slamming their shoes foot into the back of the mans head with strength that shattered the ground!
