"Ugh…" Leroy woke up groggily. "Man, sleeping on the forest floor sucks."
It'd been A Week since they'd entered the Forest. And all the Provisions had quickly been used. In no part due to the Sheer appetite of the captain. But Noir made do with Kále and himself going hunting
Though it wasn't without its own hiccups, the two constantly bickering who was better at hunting and who brought back the bigger fish from the river
Leroy looked over to the other Sleeping bag where Kirk and Dezzi slept, rubbing his eyes and pulling his shirt on he stepped out of the tent into the humid morning air that hit him like a wall.
"Morning." Noir spoke, in the middle of finishing the deboning and descaling of the salmon caught
"Sashimi for Breakfast?" Leroy asked, wrapping his sash around his waist
"Yep, I figured the Soy Sauce I made would've come in handy for something! We got a bit of rice leftover which i'm letting cook in the pot" Point the sharp blade from his Chef Knife set. The Very same Ducasse had given him years and years ago.
A Few minutes laters, the Crew Scarfed down the Sashimi and Bowls of Rice.
Over the Past week, they'd come across quite the few characters. There was a one man team, Team Yellow, that fought with a giant pair of hammers. His strikes shattered the ground. And was apparently a veteran from the Warriors.
There was also the Team of Archers on Team Gray. An Intense dual between Jeanne and The archer took place while the others stood behind cover. Jeanne was able to handle them in turn. Getting to test a few different ammunition types before properly using them once they reached the Fields
On the Subject of the fields, the Crew was camped near a ridge that looked down onto the Field. So when the sudden fighting rang out a mere hour after finishing the first meal of the day, caused the crew to jump to their feet.
Peering down the cliff. The Crew could see a group of what seemed a couple dozen fought amongst them. They had just set up camp overlooking the Field the night before, so they hadn't yet had the chance to see exactly that the fighting was like.
In fact, the Field seemed partially empty. Only a few camps dotted the many kilometer wide field of grass.
So it came as a shock to the Crew to now suddenly see so many flood the field, going from attacks of one against many, team against team, one on ones.
But the clear heavy hitters were warriors that were being focus on. Four on Ones was not a rare sight to see.
These Were Clearly Members of Black Team.
"Alright!" Leroy said, slamming his fist into his palm, cracking his knuckles before suddenly taking a huge leap into the air! Soaring quickly down to the Field below! "Lets win this thing!"
"You All want a Fight!" Leroy questioned with a loud declaration of his Appearance
There was a near unanimous cheer. It was all the agreement he needed!
Leroy Threw fist after fist at a dozen of members from different teams, orange, teal, light blue, light brown. He Bounced from team to team, hitting opponents at random, hoping from head to head, he moved like a blur that not even the Skyderian Warriors of Team Black that he suddenly appeared in front of could track!
Noir Was Much the Same, bobbing and weaving in between arrows that were fired, hands in his pockets all the same. His main focus, even amidst the assault he faced by the total of 10 people from Leaf Green, Turquoise, Burnt Orange, Violet, was making sure his cigarette didn't fall from his lips.
Jeanne picked off the others from a distance. She was using her bolts this time around, but was a good enough shot that she didn't have to worry about terrible injuries. She eventually even landed a shot from close to 300 meters over the shoulder using a mirror that Raven held up.
Kále meanwhile fought using only his Scabered blades. Focusing on redirection than direct assaults on any of them. It was a part of his skill set that he had slacked on. So going up against so many opponents at once, and while actively handicapping himself with a hand behind his back. It was good training.
As for the Rest, They had their own small bouts. But those like Dezzi was attempting to play catch up, playing field medic for the entire tournament to those that even dared to take on their captain.
Kirk on the Other hand sat back with Raven to watch the others fight. They'd have their turn eventually but they had days left. And Currently his time was spent better with drawing the landscape while Raven noted their environment
The fighters never really seemed to stop. There were moments of down time with other teams taking up the space left. But one by one, team after team was disqualified, denoted by the Call of Scout Birds.
Left sweaty, and breathless, the 4 that were fighting had stopped one by one. Jeannes lack of endurance and inability to keep up for hours at a time caused her to drop from the battles first. Followed by Noir who needed to start dinner, and then Kále a few moments later.
Only for Leroy to finally stop his assault against opponents that seemed to never cease their fighting. By his own admission, it seemed like there were at least 15 camps surrounding the valley. Pink and Topaz were quite correct in saying that the most fighting happened in the field.
