Chapter 79 - - Revived II

Torres recoiled from the shot, still straddling Frizz. As he prepared to push her away, Torres straightened her posture and grinned, shotgun pellets lodged between her teeth.

Frizz was about to fire again but Torres whacked the shotgun away and delivered a devastating double-fisted slam, breaking the building's ceiling and sending them down four floors below.

There was only one employee in the office, pulling an all-nighter. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, the ceiling suddenly shattered, dropping two naked people.

A security guard was watching the office through a CCTV camera in the monitoring room. Both the employee's expressions were in disbelief; a white woman foreigner was fighting a naked man.

Frizz threw away the shotgun, drawing both a Glock and an M1911, and opened fire on Torres. Torres grabbed the lone employee with a tendril and used his body as a shield, then throwing it at Frizz.

(Fuck this goddamned restriction, why was he fucking alive!? I could've been a first-rate now.) Torres thought, now chasing Frizz in a hallway.

(I need backup, where are those two!? What the hell is happening!?) Frizz thought, thinking of Divine and Nathaniel as he held out his hands and squeezed Torres against the hallway walls. *Crash!*

A beam of energy shot through the hallway with Frizz barely dodging it. Following this, a steady stream of blue flames spewed like a flamethrower. However, the hallway was now empty, as Frizz had escaped into the lobby by boring through the upper floors.

"Life Radar." Torres activated a skill, observing Frizz heading straight for the exit and preparing to fly away.

Torres floated and shot forward straight towards Frizz, piercing through the floor and several pillars. The building rumbled from Torres' assault, causing the security guard inside the monitoring room to pray.

Frizz reflexively dodged Torres' spearheaded approach, barely dodging. Torres, huffing, then grabbed Frizz's neck. Exhaustion seeped into her bones; she had barely escaped the previous night, and now here she was, chasing a man she had believed to be dead.

Torres was nearly out of breath, the magical restriction severely limiting her mana, forcing her to use her life force for any spells she cast. Torres was primarily a magic caster, with very few abilities that didn't require mana.

Frizz kicked and gnawed, but it barely did anything. She may be an exhausted magic caster, but she's a level one-hundred second-rate leveler with perks that more than tripled Frizz's own perks.

"Skittery one, ain't you? Making a girl like me chase a guy like you. This isn't high-school?" Torres taunted, bringing Frizz's face close to her.

Frizz cringed at the dialogue, affirmed in his belief that levelers are weird

"Please, let me go," Frizz pleaded, trembling. "I have no idea what's happening." He pleaded, genuinely confused about everything.

"Of course you have no idea," Torres replied, a hint of amusement in her voice. "You were dead for the most part." She replied, causing Frizz to slightly falter since he didn't want to accept that he had died.

"This time, stay dead." Torres said while tightening her grip around Frizz's neck and lifting him, planning to slam him through the floor.

"Fortress, Forced Weakpoint, Lesser Power, Surge, Dash, Tag!" Frizz hastily activated his skills, causing Torres to mockingly laugh.

"That's not enough!" Torres said, slamming Frizz, but before Frizz hit the ground, he activated another crucial skill.

"Duel!"

Frizz was snappily freed from Torres' grasp and the two were now locked in an enclosed space, surprising Torres, aware of what this skill was.

"Shit!" Torres exclaimed and shielded herself as Frizz delivered a flurry of blows. Every punch he delivered had the intent to kill along with devastating debuffs.

In a duel, you cannot cast skills or spells, but passive skills and talents will work. Any spells or skills cast before the duel still apply. It was an unfair duel.

(I can tell, she's just a magic caster. I may have lucked out on this encounter.) Frizz thought, anxiously grinning, not letting up in his attacks. He followed the weak spots appearing all over Torres; each strike in it was a guaranteed critical hit.

"You're the dead meat, and this time, you stay dead." He threatened as Torres was scorched, slowed, stunned, poisoned, weakened, impaired, and lastly critically struck.

However, despite the relentless assault, Torres was still standing. The number of perks she possessed was staggeringly numerous, helping her weather the attacks.

(Defense Mechanism, Tough Exterior, Force Absorption, Redirection, Glyp, and Grace. These perks can get me through this and after this duel. I'll give this asshole a taste of his own medicine!) Torres thought while her figure bruised, her dress evaporating from the sheer force.

*Wham!* The duel ended, repelling both and collapsing on the ground.

The whole lobby was silent, apart from the heavy breathing. There were police sirens in the distance; both were aware that they had to end this as soon as possible.

"Crackle!" Frizz held out his hand, producing a jolt of electricity, hitting Torres. However, Torres wasn't damaged, the spell was negated. Torres laughed and cackled, rising upwards.

*Bang!* A gunfire rang throughout the lobby, hitting Torres in the head. The gunshot proved ineffective, ricocheting instead. It was the security guard from the monitoring room.

"P-put y-your hands u-up! I've a-already c-contacted the police!" The security guard declared, stuttering heavily and already questioning the decision he had made.

Torres, after some pause, picked up a large rubble and hurled it at the security guard. Frizz however, managed to stop the rubble, catching it with his telekinesis.

The security guard soiled his pants as the large rubble was only a few inches away from his face. He then vomited from the stress, passing out shortly.

*Whack!* Torres kicked Frizz's head who was distracted, sending him flying to the wall.

"I don't know why you did that; it was just another monkey," Torres said with a heavily exhausted tone while two-handedly choking Frizz whose eyes were now tearing up.

"It was fun while fighting in our birthday suits. I half-expected for us to do something exciting but alas, you monkeys don't have a big di-" *Wham!* Torres was interrupted as Frizz, retaliated by kicking her in the lower region, causing her to wince from the pain.

"Shut the fuck up, you fucking monologuing piece of shit," Frizz shouted, retrieving a baseball bat from his system inventory and smashed it against Torres' head with brutal force.

It broke after a single strike, forcing Frizz to resort to his fists. The ground cracked as the building rumbled with each punch.

"Twice impact!" He shouted, activating a new skill.
