Chapter 77 - - The Hotel Incident II

I was holding my breath during the elevator's descent, and as it arrived on the lowest floor, I vomited in disgust. The elevator had a stench of rust and iron. It was nauseating.

However, the lobby was even worse, with several dead bodies strewn across the floor. Everywhere I turned, there was death. I vomited again, this time out of stress and panic.

My manager, a man I always found unsettling, was now crying and praying underneath a huge table.. The owner was beside him, seemingly shot dead. He was probably caught in the crossfire.

With haste, I bolted for the entrance, promising myself to never work in this wretched hotel again. The pay was low, the customers were entitled, and the owner would give us work that didn't fit our positions.

The only tolerable aspect was that the owner provided free transportation and food.

*Boom!* The ceiling collapsed behind me as the floor shattered on impact.

Something fell. I saw a figure rapidly roll to the side as another impact struck the floor.

I tripped, hitting my head on a chair. I looked ahead, and the gloomy man was now coughing up blood while his face was partially covered with white dust. Then, as the smoke from the rubble cleared, I saw the white woman. Her entire figure was now coated in white dust.

Even at a distance, I could tell that the white woman was irritated. I then realized the white stuff was foam from a fire extinguisher. What happened next scared me to death. That gloomy man disappeared as soon as the white woman fired a laser beam from her right arm, piercing through the hotel..

I saw that laser destroy three parked vehicles and a fire hydrant.

"Massive Greater Strength."

I've heard someone mutter before the glass panes inside shattered as the front entrance was completely decimated, along with the hastily parked cars outside.

It was like a massive and destructive slice.

*Wham!* That white woman then punched someone behind her, sending them flying. I only caught a glimpse, but it was that purple-haired woman with a scythe from earlier.

I didn't even notice her until she was sent flying.

*Bang!* I saw that the white woman stagger; she was shot from above. There was no doubt that it came from the guy who had a huge rifle.

I've heard more vehicles park outside as more armed men rushed inside the hotel. That white woman then pointed at the purple-haired woman, who was reeling from the punch, prompting the armed men to open fire on her.

I screamed to the point that my voice cracked, covering my ears while collapsed on the floor.

I wanted out, I wanted to escape.

I don't know how long I've screamed and closed my eyes, but after I've opened them. The armed men were already dead, effortlessly dispatched by that purple-haired woman, who then turned her attention to that white woman who was fighting that gloomy man.

*Boom!* The purple-haired woman leaped with great force, shattering several furniture, tackling the white woman to the floor.

The whole hotel was quaking.

I don't know if this building is going to hold on any longer. My manager managed to snap out of his bawling, leaving his hiding spot and heading straight towards one of the broken glass panes.

I followed him, sensing an escape. *Bam!*

My manager disappeared in front of me after being hit by a random rubble. He turned into a bloody mist, and I even swallowed some of his blood. I ducked, crawling my way through the exit.

*Swing!* A blade flew past me, lightly injuring my right cheek. I picked up my pace, crawling over the dead bodies. I've lost my balance several times, causing my uniform and face to be stained with blood.

As I've made my way to the exit, an ice crystal fell beside me while another laser beam narrowly missed. I bolted straight through the flooded street, planning to get away from this hotel.

There were several people hiding in the distance, watching the hotel with curious gazes. I could tell that they were confused too, but they don't truly know the horrors inside.

*Thack!* I tripped, scraping my knee on the pavement. A random passerby then helped me, quickly pulling me away.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you." *Bwaargh!*

I repeatedly thanked him as I vomited my guts out, finally away from that chaotic place.

The sirens in the distance gave me a small amount of respite while I watched the crumbling hotel. It was on fire as the upper part of the building was encased in ice with a huge gaping hole between the sixth and seventh floor.

*Whing!* Another laser beam from the building, damaging the nearby buildings and slicing through a lamp post.

"Secure the perimeter, get these civilians out of here, and put a request for the army to help quell this situation." A senior police officer ordered, hunching behind a vehicle.

The familiar wails of an ambulance offered me a much-needed respite; my whole body ached, and I desperately needed relief.

"Help me pick this lady up." The random bystander and a police officer then lifted me, hauling me straight to the ambulance.

"That's all I remember, officer. I don't remember anything else." The female hotel employee finished her recounting, still shivering from the experience.

The interviewing police officer glanced at Detective Micah, who had a pensive expression. He surmised that the detective was also struggling to believe the account.

"Do you recognize the two people in this photo?" The detective asked, pulling out a photo from his phone. It was a man and a young woman smiling together.

"That man looks like the guy whose chest was hollowed out, but I don't know the girl." The female hotel employee answered.

"Thank you, Ms. Abigail. We've taken up enough of your time, and please, we urge you not to talk with the press for now." The interviewing officer and the detective then escorted her out.

"Well, what do you think?" Detective Soon asked, puffing a smoke.

"I don't know." Detective Micah sighed, scratching his head.

"You don't know?"

"I don't know. The NBI, NICA, and even the Americans are here. This is way above us." Detective Micah commented, looking at the photo of Frizz and Yani.
