The arrow was very close to her; she could imagine if Huai Fu Yueming had not pounced on her, the arrow might have pierced her heart.
She understood now, someone was attempting to assassinate them!

"Now you care about me?" Their faces were inches apart, their breaths entwined, and he smelled the faint fragrance emanating from her. He looked at her with an indulgent and helpless smile, the corners of his mouth hooked.
Mi Yao tried to push him away immediately, "Get away!"
Just then, several arrows shot toward them again. Huai Fu Yueming quickly pressed down on her fragrant shoulders and pushed her forward as they ran, dodging the increasingly dense cold arrows.
Mi Yao's heart sank. Someone was shooting at them, from somewhere hidden, while they were exposed in the open.
