Karina raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by my attempt at gallows humor. "You're enjoying this too much."
"Me? Never," I replied with a grin. "But admit it. You're itching for another fight."
"I'd prefer answers over another grotesque beast," she said dryly, though her lips twitched into a small smile.
Helvar, bringing up the rear, scoffed. "You two banter like we're not walking into a death trap. Whatever dragged that wyrm here isn't done with us yet."
"Helvar," I said, smirking as I glanced back at him, "if you can't handle a bit of tension-breaking banter, you're welcome to go first next time."
"Not a chance," he muttered, his hand resting on his sword. "I've seen enough magic traps in my life to know better."
