" The wedding had been cancelled," Suzzy said
"Finally, someone had to save your ass," Erica exclaimed
Suzzy rolled her eyes at her, She glanced at Avery who was busy making something in the pot.
" What are you cooking?"
" Porridge" she said flatly.
The kitchen was silent until Erica asked;
" How is Alex doing"
Avery shrugged her shoulders before responding.
"He's fine."
" We are going to leave you to cook for your baby." Erica teased.
Avery gave her a frown.
"Whose baby. You guys are my babies."
"Yeah, yeah. We are your babies, now leave."
Avery rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips.
Her steps slowed down, as she was getting closer to Alex's room. She could hear the voices in his room. She got closer to the door but paused.
" What are we going to do with Charles?
" We have him with us. What if Avery wants to see and talk to him about her mother?" Sam asked
"She's not going to ask," Alex assured.
The door opened, and her feet couldn't move, she raised her head to meet the gaze of the person.
" Avery," Stefan said her name with a smile.
Cold sweats formed on Alex's head and his shivers ran down his spine.
Stefan smirked as Alex unfolded emotions he had never seen from him.
He peeked at Avery, and he lowered himself closer to her ear;
" I guess you heard everything. Give him time to explain himself. Understand him."
Avery nodded and moved aside to make way for him and Samuel to pass. She entered the room with the tray in hand.
Alex turned his gaze when he locked eyes with Avery. She noticed his hands fidgeting under the sheet.
" I brought food," she exclaimed
" Yeah." Alex stuttered
Avery placed the tray on the wooden coffee table across the bed.
She helped him up to the sofa near the table.
Alex placed his nervous hand around her neck to adjust his footing, but he had a lot going on in his head. He lost a step sending both of them to the bed.
Alex stared at her amber eyes, and he removed the strap of hair from her face; having a clear view of her.
" I missed you," he confessed with a sad smile
Avery looked away.
" Can you get up?" she inquired.
