The lower level of Snowpoint Temple—the first basement floor.
"Flash," Chris snapped his fingers.
A dazzling sun immediately rose in the dark corridor, illuminating the entire passage.
Unlike the upper levels of Snowpoint Temple, the lower level had no torches and no windows either. It was a true underground palace. The surrounding temperature had also dropped significantly.
They arrived at a fork in the path.
"It seems we'll have to split up," Cyllene said, looking at the three dark corridors.
Kamado looked at Chris.
"Akari and I are going this way," Chris said decisively.
He had already anticipated what Cyllene and Kamado were thinking.
The Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan weren't exploring Snowpoint Temple to protect the ruins. People in ancient times didn't have that concept.
When exploring Snowpoint Temple, what they were naturally searching for were the treasures within the temple.
The so-called "treasures" referred not only to rare Pokémon items, but powerful Pokémon were also considered treasures.
The Pokémon and items on the upper five floors had been collected by Chris alone, with only the Pokémon on the first floor divided between Team Pearl and Team Diamond.
Now, arriving at the lower level, if they acted together, any Pokémon items they found would be divided three ways. When they encountered a powerful Pokémon, whoever defeated it would claim it.
Obviously, Cyllene and Kamado didn't want this. They preferred to distribute the spoils based on merit—everyone going their own way.
Of course, this might also be related to the fact that the Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan didn't get along with each other.
Chris was quite happy with this arrangement. As soon as he'd entered, Gardevoir's psychic power had already swept through the underground level of Snowpoint Temple. The path he chose now was a shortcut leading directly to the second basement level.
"Alright, let's split up then. I'll lead the Diamond Clan this way." Seeing Chris agree, Kamado waved to the Diamond Clan members.
"Team Pearl, follow me," Cyllene called out.
"Akari, let's go." Chris strode forward without looking back.
"Okay!" Akari hugged Pikachu and quickly followed.
After walking for about two minutes, Chris pulled out his treasure detector from his backpack.
For the first time, the treasure detector's reaction confused him a bit.
The treasure detector was shaking left and right, so unstable that within a few seconds, it was spinning as fast as an electric fan.
"Are there really this many treasures of the same quality here?" Chris was somewhat surprised.
With a gesture of his hand, Gardevoir appeared out of thin air beside him.
Gardevoir's psychic power unfolded. She pulled her hands apart, and a three-dimensional model of the underground palace appeared.
There were a large number of Pokémon that resembled the Regi golems standing throughout the underground palace.
"Regi golems everywhere?" Chris wondered.
Although the Regi golems created by the Colossal Pokémon Regigigas weren't unique, their numbers couldn't possibly be this large, right?
Chris did a rough count and found that there were more than seventy Regi golems on just the first basement floor of Snowpoint Temple alone.
If there were this many on the second floor too...
That would make the Regi golems seem far too common.
"Let's find one of these Regi golems," Chris said thoughtfully as he walked forward.
Akari blinked her large eyes and silently watched Chris's actions.
She didn't understand and didn't dare to ask.
She was just silently curious in her heart.
What kind of place is the Hoenn region...
Soon, Chris found one of the Regi golems.
It was a golem that resembled the Rock-type Regirock. The difference was that its head wasn't inlaid with several dots arranged in a specific pattern.
What caught Chris's attention even more was that there was no level indicator above its head.
This meant it might not actually be a Pokémon.
"Gardevoir!" Chris commanded casually.
The next second, Gardevoir's psychic power exploded.
The golem that looked similar to Regirock didn't display the same defensive power as an actual Regirock. On the contrary, it was as soft as sand and deformed freely under Gardevoir's Psychic attack.
In the end, it was even crushed into powder by Gardevoir and scattered on the ground.
From the scattered powder, a bright orb caught Chris's attention.
He leaned over and picked it up.
The familiar texture and energy all confirmed its identity.
A Primal Orb!
It was just that this Primal Orb was pitifully small—even smaller than the Primal Orb that Chris had given to the Regirock he'd captured on the second level.
This explained the treasure detector's abnormal behavior.
Although these Primal Orbs weren't large, due to their extremely powerful energy, they were still legendary Pokémon items no matter how small they were.
There were more than seventy Regi golems scattered throughout the first basement floor of Snowpoint Temple, which meant there were at least seventy legendary Pokémon items scattered here.
If there was a second floor...
No wonder the treasure detector spun like an electric fan.
"Gardevoir, defeat all the Regi golems on the first basement floor and bring me the Primal Orbs from their bodies," Chris ordered directly.
Although he didn't know exactly what the Primal Orbs were used for, since they were legendary Pokémon items, he wouldn't miss them—and he certainly wouldn't leave them for the Diamond or Pearl Clans.
He would claim them all!
After receiving the order, Gardevoir's eyes flashed with dazzling light. Her psychic power spread like a tide and erupted violently!
At the same time, elsewhere in the temple...
"Flareon, use Flamethrower!"
"Woo!!!"
The scorching flames condensed into a pillar of fire and bombarded a Regi golem similar to Regice.
The ice-crystal body collapsed.
"Go!" Cyllene threw her Poké Ball, thinking to herself: If a wild one already has such powerful strength, then if I train it, won't it become even stronger?
It will definitely be able to crush Kamado!
But soon, something unexpected happened.
Her Poké Ball landed on the Regi golem just like it would on ordinary ice crystals, making a crisp "clink" sound before bouncing away.
"This... this isn't a Pokémon?" Cyllene was immediately dumbfounded.
As if to confirm her words, liquid melted by the Flamethrower appeared near the fallen ice-crystal body. The liquid condensed into ice crystals again as the temperature dropped.
She was stunned.
The one she'd struggled to defeat wasn't even a Pokémon...
"Forget it, let's keep moving forward." Cyllene had no choice but to call her companions to continue onward.
No one noticed that an orb resembling an ice crystal had quietly disappeared from the body of the fallen Regice-like golem.
The same thing happened with the Diamond Clan.
After Kamado defeated a Regi golem, he tried to capture it but found that he couldn't. This puzzled him greatly, especially since he'd seen Chris capture Regirock earlier through Sabi's report.
Why could Chris capture one, but they couldn't?
After trying a few more times, Kamado could only continue moving forward with his companions.
As for the Primal Orbs inside the Regi golems, they had long since disappeared.
