"Yes, we just got married a few months ago," replied the man with the katana, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. His tone was light, almost casual, yet carried a quiet confidence, as though he had prepared this answer long before being asked.
"And what are your names?" asked another Konoha shinobi, this one wearing glasses. His sharp gaze cut across the faces of the couple, probing every flicker of expression, as if trying to pierce through their facade and expose the faintest trace of deceit.
"My name is Aoki Sora, and this is my wife, her name is Kurisu Sora." Aoki spoke calmly, his smile steady. Yes, this young man was none other than Aoki himself.
Now fifteen years old, Aoki carried himself with a maturity far beyond his age.
There was serenity in Aoki's eyes, confidence in his movements, and a weight of experience in his voice. His youth seemed almost veiled, cloaked by an aura of adulthood and composure that he now bore.
"And how long will you two be staying in the Village of Konoha?" the ninja with the headband asked again, his tone flat yet tinged with curiosity.
"What? Hahaha… No, no!" Aoki chuckled softly, raising his left hand as though to signal that there was nothing suspicious, no need for doubt.
"I am a native of Konoha. But a few years ago, I chose the path of the swordsman, traveling across the shinobi world. Until one day, I met my wife. We grew closer, little by little, then came to like each other, and eventually, we fell in love. At last, a few months ago, we married." Aoki's words rang out clear, each syllable crisp and steady, even though in his heart he knew he was weaving a lie—one that had to appear flawless.
"That's right. Since the Third Great Ninja War has ended, we decided to live in the village where my husband once belonged," Kurisu added gently, her voice soft yet imbued with conviction.
A sweet smile lit up Kurisu's face, giving her the air of a loving wife. With graceful motion, Kurisu slipped her hand around Aoki's right arm, pressing close, her body leaning into him just a little more.
The softness of her chest brushed against Aoki's arm—such a subtle gesture, yet it painted them all the more convincingly as a newlywed couple.
For a brief moment, Aoki was shaken inside. That delicate touch sent his heartbeat racing wildly, as though pounding against his ribcage from within. His face nearly flushed red, but he forced himself to hold firm, to maintain his composure. Outwardly, Aoki's expression remained calm, though inwardly, chaos roared within his mind.
"Stay calm. This is only an act. I mustn't look strange," Aoki reminded himself.
"I see. Then congratulations on your marriage! Will you be staying in Konohagakure permanently?" asked the bespectacled shinobi, a faint smile on his lips. His tone sounded warm, even sincere, and for a fleeting instant, the tension in the air seemed to ease.
But Aoki and Kurisu both knew this questioning was lasting longer than usual. The two sensor-nin watched them intently, as though searching for something hidden.
Even so, Aoki's face remained unshaken. He knew his chakra was faint enough to make him appear like any ordinary civilian without shinobi training.
As for Kurisu, thanks to the sealing technique placed upon her by Akarin, she gave off no detectable chakra at all—certainly not enough to be perceived as a shinobi. To the sensors before them, they were nothing more than a young couple freshly wed.
"Haha, thank you. Yes, we really do intend to stay in Konoha permanently—until we have children together!" Aoki said, scratching his head with his left hand. His grin looked cheerful, though tension still coiled within him.
"Is that so? Then welcome back to Konoha! And once again, congratulations on your marriage," both shinobi said almost in unison. Their smiles were faint, but genuine. At last, they stepped aside, granting the couple passage into the village.
