Sato had never been stingy when it came to his ace Pokémon. The moment he noticed Swampert staring fixedly at the Kyorge's Blessing Mark in his hand, he immediately understood what it wanted.
"Are you ready? Go on—accept this gift from the ancient super-legendary Pokémon."
In the next moment, Sato used his telekinesis to lift the Kyorge's Blessing Mark before Swampert, and then spoke to it through telepathy.
Swampert had been by Sato's side through countless battles, life and death alike. Naturally, it would never hesitate to accept something its Trainer offered. It instinctively knew that whatever Sato produced — wherever it came from — would only benefit it.
So, when Sato signaled it to accept the item, Swampert immediately reached forward to grasp the Kyorge's Blessing Mark.
However, before its hand even touched the seal, the Kyorge's Blessing Mark seemed to react on its own—as if it possessed a will and awareness.
It appeared to sense Swampert's strong desire and recognized it as a worthy successor. With a flash of light, it broke free from Sato's telekinetic hold and shot straight toward Swampert's forehead.
Caught off guard, Swampert had no time to react before the seal struck its forehead, leaving behind a glowing alpha (α) mark.
Immediately, dark lines began spreading from the alpha mark, crawling rapidly across Swampert's skin.
Within seconds, before Swampert could even comprehend what was happening, its entire body was covered in strange patterns—just like those on Kyogre's body.
Once the black lines had spread completely, an awe-inspiring blue phantom began to rise slowly behind Swampert. Without question, the apparition was that of the ancient super-legendary Pokémon—Kyogre itself.
But this Kyogre was not in its normal form—it appeared in its Primal state, its gaze sharp and judging as it looked down upon Swampert, who sought to absorb its power.
As the Primal Kyogre phantom emerged, Swampert's expression twisted in pain. Clearly, the power of an ancient super-legendary was not something easily absorbed.
Yet Swampert was no ordinary Pokémon. It was the same fierce creature that had earned its fearsome reputation on the Mysterious Island. The phantom before it was only a fragment of Kyogre's original power—no more than a projection.
Before long, Swampert successfully absorbed that small trace of Kyogre's primal essence. Though the Primal Kyogre phantom seemed reluctant, it eventually dissolved into countless blue motes of light that streamed into Swampert's body.
In that instant, Swampert's aura grew explosively stronger.
A vast, oceanic pressure radiated from its body—majestic, endless, and commanding. Whether it was because of the essence it had absorbed or simply the influence of Kyogre's power, Swampert now carried an unmistakable legendary presence.
"As expected of a relic carrying the essence of a super-legendary Pokémon… truly incredible."
Watching Swampert's transformation, Sato narrowed his eyes slightly. Activating his system's scanning function, he quickly re-evaluated Swampert's new status—and immediately understood what had happened.

Empowered by ancient essence, it now exudes the majesty of a legendary Pokémon, exerting a natural pressure over ordinary Pokémon.
.....
After absorbing the Kyorge's Blessing Mark, Swampert's status screen now displayed two new entries: Drizzle and Sea God's Gift.
Though just words on the panel, the benefits they represented were immense.
Especially the Sea God's Gift—it had silently raised Swampert's potential to an entirely new level. From this point onward, whenever it faced ordinary Pokémon, Swampert would naturally hold the advantage.
The ordeal, however, had taken a toll. The struggle of willpower against the Primal Kyogre phantom had left Swampert utterly exhausted. As soon as the process ended, it collapsed on the ground and fell into a deep sleep.
The alpha mark on its forehead and the dark lines covering its skin soon faded away.
Seeing this, Sato recalled Swampert into its PokeBall, then assigned Duskull to take over gatekeeping duty.
Once he calmed himself, he turned his attention back to the system store, thinking seriously about what to redeem next.
Although he had spent 30% of his system energy to exchange for the Kyorge's Blessing Mark, he still had 54% remaining—enough to buy several more valuable items.
Unfortunately, there had only been one Kyorge's Blessing Mark available in the system store. Otherwise, after witnessing Swampert's miraculous transformation, Sato would have exchanged for another without hesitation.
He also felt a twinge of regret regarding the Psychic Mark—another rare system item that could only be redeemed once.
After a few minutes of thought, Sato made up his mind. Spending 20% of his remaining energy, he exchanged four vials of Mew Gene Enhancement Serum.
"Crobat, Kecleon—you've both worked hard all this time. These are for you. You've earned them."
Using telekinesis once more, Sato floated two of the vials before Crobat and Kecleon, smiling warmly at them.
Crobat had been his very first Pokémon, and Sato had always held a special fondness for it.
Unfortunately, due to its lower potential and the difficulty of leveling up later on, Crobat had gradually been surpassed by his other, more talented companions—eventually taking on more of a supporting role.
Though Sato had tried to help Crobat over the years, his efforts were merely superficial; its growth had simply plateaued.
Now, however, he could finally address the problem at its root.
As for Kecleon, Sato felt a deep sense of gratitude—and guilt.
On the Mysterious Island, if not for Kecleon and its invaluable Protean ability and rare moves, he might have long since perished—his grave covered in weeds taller than a man.
Sadly, Kecleon's progress had been just as slow. Even now, its level had barely reached 40, and its mastery over its own techniques remained incomplete— far from being able to fully harness its unique versatility.
Still, Sato firmly believed that once Kecleon used the two Mew Gene Enhancement Serums, its unique skills would finally reach its prime.
