"Hmm"
Reko hummed in acknowledgement, so far these deductions were correct.
"Have you met someone from the hamster tribe?"
Finally, when he felt that the monkey King Enma was taking too long to think, he asked a question.
"Hamster!! Right, that tribe!!"
Enma's eyes lit up as he found the answer. The hamster tribe. Those guys were famous for their space manipulation. There were legends about their achievements.
"But how? They don't take contracts seriously. They seem to loathe even the three sacred lands."
There was no way Reko happened to be found by someone of their tribe and got a contract right?
This was not their practice. They were too powerful to care for other creatures.
Even he, Monkey King Enma, was only aware that they existed because of senior members of his tribe. He had not yet met one in his long life.
The hamster tribe enjoyed their anonymity and freedom. However, they were rarely spotted by anyone thanks to their space control.
Only because of some rare coincidences, most of the tribes got to know of that tribe. Rare but not so good coincidences though.
'Ugh! I lost?'
Asuma thought as he slowly came back to his senses.
"So, about the contract, how did it happen? As far as I am aware, they don't do it."
Enma seemed curious, interested to know about the circumstances which led to this.
He was aware that the hamster tribe enjoyed their privacy and never approached anyone.
"One of them just happened to be there and decided that we will make a good duo and offered me a contract."
Reko recollected what happened that day and relayed it to the monkey King.
He skipped the part about system screen and reward, and only mentioned how he got the contract.
"This happens?"
The monkey King looked surprised as he muttered to himself in a low voice. He was shocked. Could there be such a coincidence? Such luck?
"Hmm."
Reko hummed, unsure why this was such a big deal. At the end of it, it was him who learned everything with ease.
"This is not surprising if the other guy chose you. Still, to have learned all this in such a short span of time, impressive!"
The monkey King complimented Reko for his learning ability and stopped pondering the luck a human could possess.
There were more important things that he needed to discuss at the moment.
"So, what were your plans with him? You didn't seem to want to hurt him, not that bad at least."
He pointed at Asuma who was silently listening to their conversation and asked.
"Him on the other hand.. it's something special, he has not been in his right mind these days, his mood is very volatile, though, it helps in his training a lot."
The monkey King sighed.
"He is growing like a prodigy, late bloomer. But his personality seems to be getting worse."
He had not expected things to turn to this. This was not positive for Asuma and his future.
"I see." Reko nodded to Enma before taking a glance at Asuma still lying down on the ground.
"I was just here to warn him. Nothing much, as I was just about to leave the village."
Reko assured before getting that one kunai stuck in the ground. There were not many of such kunai and it did not seem like he would be needing them anymore.
"I see. I will let him know. Thanks for sparring with me."
The monkey King Enma thanked Reko.
…
In the Hokage office, Reko straight up entered there, handing Nara a scroll
He was already prepared to leave. So, he went to the office directly after taking his kunai.
"So you are leaving? You know that it is not required anymore right?"
Nara looked at the scroll, skimming through it and asked Reko.
"It's fine. I have learned Senjutsu. So, it will be better if I assist Naruto in his training rather than waiting here in the village."
In order to keep it concise, Reko revealed that he had mastered Senjutsu and didn't want to remain idle in the village.
Before Nara could proceed with his thoughts, Reko was already gone. He could only sigh.
"Senjutsu? Wait!!"
He re-read the scroll but it did not contain any useful information on Senjutsu.
Just then, an anbu came to report.
"He spoke the truth. I saw him sparring with Asuma and the monkey King Enma. He beat them up with ease."
He revealed what he had witnessed and confirmed that Reko had indeed mastered the Sage Jutsu.
"And the monkey King acknowledged that it was Sage Mode, better than lord Jiraya."
He added that the Sage Mode by Reko was way better than that of Jiraya, the legendary Sainin.
"This boy!"
Nara read through the scroll, seeing how nonchalant Reko seemed about his curse. He could only sigh because he had no solution to this problem.
Only Fuinjutsu experts and researchers in ancient languages could decipher it and he was neither of them.
"Only Lady Tsunade can control him. I hope she comes back soon."
Nara sighed once again, he was getting too many surprises these days. This Hokage work was not for someone like him.
…
"So, what do you think?"
The monkey King asked Asuma. He had woken up after Reko left.
"What do you mean by that?"
Asuma looked confused as he asked. What now? Didn't we lose? What was there to think?
"You must have listened to him speak. He did not seem to have any resentment for you. Do you still want to antagonise him?"
As Enma spoke, Asuma's face kept changing, his facial expressions got bitter.
There was no enmity between them if one really thought about it. But Asuma was not content with how things ended.
He trained so hard, so long, yet he lost. But he did not lose motivation.
"That's something personal. Don't worry, I will not go after anyone else but him."
Gritting his teeth, Asuma turned his back to Enma as he announced. His goal was to defeat Reko and for that he would keep training.
