They had guests. How could he simply think of going along when her friends were in the house? Did he plan to chase them out so he could go with her?
"You don't need to worry about me," Alice said, patting his cheek lightly as he sulked in defeat. "Plus, I have Leo, so they won't be able to play with me with words."
Though she didn't technically need his help. She decided to stop being dumb, especially when faced with her enemies.
Mark felt even more bitter after she said that. It was as if Leo had taken his place.
"We'll get going now," Alice said, waving to the others. "I don't know how long the meeting will take or if I'll meet you all back here once I'm done, but I'll look forward to tomorrow," she smiled, giving them some sort of sunshine hope.
"We get it, we get it. Get going already," Diane said, as if she couldn't wait for Alice to finally be gone.
"I'm going. Don't be such a b--" Alice refrained from cussing at her and just laughed. "I'll see you."
