Lola watched with an odd sense of pride as the horde of Imps took great joy in the accommodations that had been crafted for them, as General One's personal maid, Eight's maids had rushed into action to help her, hoping for a recommendation.
And while she didn't want to aid in Maids who saw themselves as too good to do their job unless the one they did it for served the leader of their country before the country's existence, she had to admit some of them had potential.
Two of them would at least be getting recommendations to be moved to General Five and Four's care, as upon being told the project required the destruction and remodeling of a wall between two rooms, the duo had not only knocked it down but effortlessly reconstructed and even improved the makeshift blue-prints Lola had made for it, she had fully expected to enlist the aid of General Five, best know for their feat of surrounding the entire country in a wall within the timeframe of a few day.
The Imps had been given plenty of room to make their blood art, and with the two construction madis working over time, they had even added a little play park for the excitable little creatures to blow off energy, a large play house took up the three walls, not door side, with tunnels and slides and little bridges and few chair swings, and even a ball pit for them to play in.
On top of the massive construction in the room, parts of it carried over into the next room, a few tubes with windows providing a view into Nine's sleeping quarters and even letting them enter the room via a ladder without having to go into the hallway.
Upon his request, a lock was added to the inside of the room, as Imp Height, The two Construction Maids easily completed it, and improved upon the request by making the Imp high lock extend up the door and bolt a second lock to keep anyone from taking advantage of any structural weaknesses having only the bottom bit of door covered might result in.
The two Maids moved over to Nine's room to begin renovating the ladder so it could be raised or lowered so no one the Imps didn't want could get into their room.
Nine was himself also enjoying the Imps room, the swings having been made with the idea of holding him and several Imps he seemed elated at the idea of a moving chair, a few Imps were already running their blood-soaked fingers over parchment paper.
While creepy to her, Lola at least took note that one of them had drawn a near one-to-one likeness of Nine and one of his Ratricks on their page while another seemed to be drawing a lovely landscape painting out of her blood.
"What talented little creeps," Eight noted as one of them was trying to make a blood vase on a pottery table, mixing his blood with the clay, "Always wondered why Imps like blood so much, I always just figured they drank it or something,"
"That would be highly inefficient," A passing Imp said as she grabbed a sheet of parchment from the massive pile set up by the door, already nearly a quarter gone after only a few minutes of the Imps using it, "We'd have to drink blood all day to sustain ourselves, Vampires can only do that because their undead, they don't need it, they're just obsessive,"
"Yeah sure," Eight agreed as the Imp walked away "If I had to think of a word to describe you guys, obsessive wouldn't even cross my mind,"
"This is so cool," Nine was swinging on the chair with his Ratricks and a particularly damaged-looking Imp, "Are you having fun, Debbie?"
Debbie didn't respond as she held onto his side tightly, like a child unwilling to leave their parent's side after being told about school for the first time.
"I think she's having fun?" Nine decided as he managed to see her smiling for the few moments she wasn't pressing her face into his side, Nine could tell the Ratricks were having a blast as they danced one of their dances, making their odd rat sounds in what Nine felt like a jolly tone.
"I got carried away on the daycare aspects," Lola admitted, "We still need to add a lot of beds…"
"Well, Five imps fit on one mattress," Nine rationalized, "But just to give them some extra space until they can all be given a bed to call their own, I can just go drag like five or six bunk beds up here,"
"No need," Lola rejected his offer of help without a second thought, "Eight's maids could use the exercise, Put I promise to keep your Imps and Ratricks entertained, as for you it's almost time for the Demon Lord's announcement, word of you will probably start traveling through the floors so it's best if you follow Eight the Meeting room in the Demon Lord's divide,"
"Come on Mr.Nine," Eight said as she motioned for him to follow, despite his best attempt Nine failed to convince Debbie to let him go and chose to go with it.
"Can Debbie come?" He asked, "I think she has separation anxiety,"
"Is that the one they were…" Eight tried to find a delicate way of phrasing it and ended up with just one word, "...Jam?"
"Yeah," Nine confirmed as he picked her up, Debbie finally allowing herself to be removed from his leg on the promise she could cling to his chest, Debbie held on to Nine fiercely, looking at Eight momentarily before snuggling her face against Nine.
Eight got the odd sense that the Imp was trying to rub in the fact Nine was holding her but chose to let it have its delusions that she cared about it as she instead turned to lead Nine out of the room.
"Have fun, I'll be back before days end, I'm taking Debbie," Nine's Imps waved goodbye, and the Ratricks took point around the room, switching to guard duty now that Nine was leaving and not giving them the follow command.
"Alright," Eight began speaking once the door was shut and Lola headed towards Nine's room to see how things were going, "So first you'll be introduced to the other Generals," Eight waved her hand at the notion, "They'll either love, hate, or not care about you. Once Introductions are done you'll be announced to all floors. Demons across the tower will have the opportunity to meet with you on the first floor starting at noon, most, if not all, of the ones who show up, will be doing so to fight you, so be ready for that,"
"Exciting," Nine rocked Debbie gently as she became slightly less clingy, loosening her grip and turning her head just enough to see where they were going.
"It depends," Eight flexed her arms as they continued walking, "No one was able to beat me my first day, at least not until Seven came down to make sure she was recognized as my superior," Eight looked back at Nine, "And I fully plan to do the same, I'm not about to get demoted to General Nine,"
"That's mine name," Nine complained, "You can't have it,"
"Then make sure you put on a great show when I come to fight ya," Eight smiled back, "And don't go letting anyone beat you till I get there,"
