Chapter 187 - Chapter 169: A Truly Satisfactory Victory

Moon tried to blink the sunspots out of her eyes and rub the ringing out of her ears. Everything was in agony right now from what just happened, it felt like an absolute shift of paradigm.

"Get up, Moon-pie. I like swimming through the mud as much as the next person, but this might not be the best time." Her husband lifted her up as she tried her best to fight off the grogginess in her ears.

"Wh-what happened?" Moon asked, looming dread filling the back of her mind.

"The magic sanctuary collapsed right on top of us." She turned her head and saw Eclipsa, holding onto Meteora as both were held protectively by Globgor. "We narrowly escaped the destruction."

"Is…is that right?" Moon weakly asked as she gazed at her surroundings. "Where…where are the children?"

"I'm here Ms B." Ponyhead floated around. "Back in my good old condition … still no horn though, which is a shame. Jana disappeared into the thin air though."

"If..if you're still flying…then that means they did it." Moon thought out loud, a sense of both pride and sorrow overwhelmed her senses. "My children…they did it..they..they.."

"Sssssh, Moon-pie, I know…I know all too well." River hugged her, and for once she didn't mind all the dirt and grime that was getting on her. "I'm the proudest father in the universe, and I can't even be happy about it."

She hugged him tightly, holding on as they tried to find any bit of comfort in … the darkness … "How long was I out for?" She asked.

"A few minutes at most." Eclipsa explained.

"... Then why is it night?" She looked up at their darkened skies.

"Maybe it has to do with the new planet that suddenly appeared in front of us…or the moon that's right over there." Globgor pointed to the two large objects occupying the space above them. Moon was far from an astrologist, but she knew for a fact this was completely unnatural, even for Mewni standards.

"I guess that they managed to 'unite us all' beyond what they thought." Ponyhead shrugged. "You think they're on earth?"

"If the universe has decided to be kind to us for once, then they will be." Moon moaned as she looked upward. As long as Earth was there, it gave her some semblance of hope that everything turned out fine, even if she had no ability to see them again. She then saw a twinkling light, which got closer and closer to them. "Can anyone else make that out?" Moon asked.

"It looks kinda like a janked up person cobbled together." Ponyhead observed as it approached them. "Should we be worried?"

Something about that description clicked in her mind. It was a multi limbed person with bushy hair of a myriad of colors … it was her children. "They're alright." She smiled … before panicking. "And they're falling from the sky!"

"Globgor, toss me!" River shouted. The shifter grabbed her husband and launched him to the sky, grabbing their fusion as he cushioned the impact, knocking into the ground hard enough for a small crater to form. "Speak…Children…Child…whatever, are you okay?" He spoke, concerned like the good father he was.

"SO….MANY…COLORS…..I TASTED THE RAINBOW….LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL…"The fusion spoke, dazed but clearly laughing as light flashed before everyone once more, revealing Marco, Kelly, Star, and Steven.

"How the heck did you form Obsidian twice?" Marco asked, rubbing his head as he grinned. "That was more intense than that one time Star accidentally made me trip acid." Star did what now?!

"The adrenaline fueled anger helped keep the voices more or less in sync the second time." Steven shook his head. "Actually, Rhapsody by comparison was much more pleasant. Yeah, the voices are loud, but I like your guys' voices."

"I like your voice too bro." Star ruffled Steven. "We saved the universe with exploding infinity rainbows!" Light shot from her hand, melting a tree. "… I got my magic back …?"

"Guess being in the center of saving all magic must've spared you from the Magic's cleanse." Kelly cracked her neck. "Disappointed?"

"Actually….not really." Star looked into her palms and saw the light sparkle from her hands. "I was fine living without it, but if there's anything the past two years have taught me, it's not the tool, it's who uses it." Her daughter smiled. "So this time, I'm going to use it right."

"You're alive!" She jumped forward, clutching them tightly. "You're all alive."

"Mom … we just … got oxygen back …" Steven tried to say.

"No, this time I am never, ever, EVER letting you go again!" Moon only increased her efforts, which were doubled with River joining in. "You were in a decaying dimension! I thought for certain I was never, ever, ever going to see you two again! You don't put worry like that in a mother and expect to get off that easily!"

"It worked … out … seeing spots …" Star whimpered.

Moon gave one more squeeze before finally letting them go, allowing the blue from their faces to finally fade away. "Ugh…I think she broke a rib." Marco rubbed his torso.

"B-FLY! Q-FLY!" Ponyhead shot themselves forward and tackled the two into the ground. "You're alive! And I'm alive! Now the party can live on!"

"Ponyhead!" Steven grabbed the horse's head and hugged them tight. "Oh good, for a second I thought we went full Thanos on the multiverse."

"Well Jana did phase out of existence and I was on the brink of death, but yeah it worked out." Ponyhead smiled. "Now, up for a celebration party!?"

"We're still kinda processing everything …" Star said. "I mean, we kinda changed reality and Firstborn is gone and-why is earth in the sky?"

"I was hoping that your four would be able to answer that question." Eclipsa spoke as Meteora giggled in her arms.

"Did we move planets!?" Kelly asked. "Did we mess up Mewni?"

"Well Mewni used to be Earth's second moon before Rose and Heckapoo teleported it." Marco pondered. "If we're going by 'Magic places everything where it belongs', then this is where Mewni belongs in the universe."

"Well that's nice." Steven smiled. "… Although Mewni has no way to travel across planets so we're stuck here for the time being."

"Steven, magic is back." Star rolled her eyes. "We'll just use scissors."

"I don't think so." A familiar voice spoke up. "Glad to see you all lived."

========================================================================

Marco turned to Hekapoo, the fire on their head gone, and she looked a little banged up. "Hey, I'm still around."

"Heckapoo? You're alive!" Marco said excitedly as Star elbowed him in the chest. Guess he was still on the chopping block for the kiss earlier. "Oh, thank goodness, I thought you were dead!"

"Oh no, I did die." She clarified. "But I kinda just … reset?" She said with confusion. "I feel weak, tired, and hormonal … is this what mortality feels like?"

"That's kinda how I used to feel before I met Steven, so probably." Kelly nodded in confirmation.

"Wait, wait, wait." Star waved her hands across in the air. "What do you mean by 'I don't think so'?"

"Oh yeah, I dunno if it was you resetting magic or me, but the scissors won't connect to magic anymore." Hekapoo spun the blade, cutting the air with nothing happening. "Can't even cut paper with these things." That felt like shoddy craftsmanship on her part, but he would leave that to himself.

"Can't you just … make new ones?" Marco asked.

"Sure, just tell me what security you placed on the new magic and we'll work from there."

"Oh….Well when we were Rhapsody, we intended for the Firstborn to guard it still, but we don't know where she is." Steven answered as he looked at the broken sanctuary. "And I don't think we'll be able to go to the Magic realm any time soon."

"… So the only way to travel realms is to travel to another realm?" Eclipsa snickered. "Quite the conundrum we're facing. A puzzle even Rhina would've had trouble solving."

"Let's focus on that part later. The gems still have spaceships, they could probably travel here eventually." Star shook her head. "So I take it there's no more Solarians?"

"From what I've seen, yes." Heckapoo snickered as she pointed to some Mewmans laying down weakly in sludge, either groaning in pain or knocked unconscious against the now useless piles of armor

"That was … intense." A woman said. "So much hate and rage…I don't even know where that came from."

"Yeah…it was scary." A man nodded along. "Maybe…Maybe changing that won't be such a bad thing."

"Leave it to almost dying to change one's lifestyle." Globgor laughed

"That's pretty much every day for us, isn't it?" Marco asked.

"Never letting go." Moon clutched her children tighter.

"Mom…seriously…you're killing us faster than Omni tried to do." Steven managed to push himself out of his family's grasp. "So wait, if Pony's alive and Heckapoo's here, then where's…?"

"Gem Buddy!" Steven was tackled by some scaly man. "I don't know what happened, one moment I'm dead, the next I'm alive with my crystal face and snake arms gone!"

"Glad to … see you … made it …Rhombulus" Steven weezed out.

"We reset magic." Kelly explained. "That way nobody dangerous could use it for maniacally crazy things."

"Oh … oh that ain't good." The man said with a bit of fear, aiming his hands at a bush. "... Yep, no crystals … definitely not good."

"Don't worry, we made a whole consequences thing when we reset things, so prisoners should be still inside." Steven waved off.

"Oh thank corn, we're safe." The man sighed in relief. "So you didn't happen to give Omni the same treatment, did you?"

"Honestly…we don't know." Star answered honestly. "We just wanted him to be out of our hair for good, so I'm not sure where that puts him in the universe."

"Probably for the best if he's gone for good." Heckapoo sighed. "Brother or not, he got really psycho near the end."

"Yeah, I always assumed that was going to be Heckapoo's thing." Rhombulous snickered, before turning to Eclipsa and Globgor. "So, back to queen business as usual?"

"Actually, I'm not sure if that's for the best." Eclipsa stated. "And I'm not just saying that because I want to run away from my responsibilities. When we destroyed the magic, it was to bring an end to an era…I don't think this system of Matriarchy works, so bringing it back seems…backwards."

"Yeah, but Mewmans are so stupid they can't survive without someone telling them what to do." Star brought up.

"You could always give Monarchy a go and let Globgor take the wheel." Marco pointed out.

"Hehehe, yeah, that's a terrible idea." The monster man laughed. "I'm reformed from my Mewman eating past, but I still have anger issues to work out."

"Eh, Democracy works well enough on Earth." Steven shrugged. "As long as we can convince someone nice to run for mayor, everything should be good."

"Weirdly enough, Ludo fits that bill now." Rhombulus chuckled with no sense of sarcasm in his throat. "Stood up and yelled at those Solaraians like no one's business."

"Ha, a monster in charge of it all." Star laughed. "Imagine if Mina was around to hear that." The rubble from the fallen sanctuary rumbled, showing someone coming upward. "Why do we say the things we do?"

========================================================================

Star raised her hands and prepared for a fight, even if she was exhausted and was beyond done with fighting of any kind for the next year. "Ugh, why can't this bitch just die already?" Star grumbled as what she feared the most came out of the rubble.

Out of the debris, out of sludge, came out Mina freakin Loveberry, scurrying to the surface and carrying something in her hands. "Ugg, it's in my mouth …" Well at least Star wasn't the only one. "My head….my head….why does it feel…less foggy than usual?"

"I guess the brain meshing is gone." Steven muttered. "Let's just leave her, it's not like she can hurt us anymore." Looks like her brother was done with today too.

Mina looked up at them, a mixture of anger, sorrow, and confusion coming to the old woman's face. "That…That…that….what happened there…was that…?"

"Yes, Mina, that was real." Eclipsa placed her baby in the arms of Globgor and slowly approached the old psycho. "Your magic is gone, as well as your immortality."

"And…And Solaria…" Mina kept mumbling. "Solaria…Solaria betrayed me.."

"Yes." Mom nodded immediately, taking her own cautious approach. "Our family hasn't been the kindest to you in the past few centuries, and all I can give you is my apologies."

That seemed to just spike anger in the woman, who batted away the helpful hands she was given. "I don't want your apologies! Your entire family has been using me for the last three hundred years! I dedicate three centuries trying to protect this dumb rock and it's dumber people only to get stabbed in the back!" She shouted. "I try again and again to do the right thing but no one accepts that! Screw you and the Butterfly name! I serve no one but myself now!"

"Well I guess some things just are bound to never change." Kelly rolled her eyes, before noticing a glow from Mina's hands. "Wait, what do you have there?"

Mina's eyebrows raised for a second before the rock glowed brighter and lifted into the air, forming an equally dreaded appearance from another enemy they'd all wished had died. "Great … Jasper's back." Steven said, pulling out a shield and glaring at the gem.

They stared at Steven with a bit of anger in their eyes, before turning to Mina. "Can you walk?"

Mina's eyes widened in disbelief before getting teary. "Jasper…You're back!" Mina jumped up and hugged the quartz shoulder, who oddly DIDN'T fight off the affection.

"... I would have taken a yes." They responded off handedly. "Come on, we need to find a new place to rest."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Star growled as she flared up her magic. "Do you think we're just going to let you walk away like that after all you've done!?"

The gem merely turned to them. "If that child isn't Pink or Rose, then I no longer care about anything." Jasper responded. "Do whatever nonsense you want, just leave us out of this."

"I can't believe I'm agreeing with you of all people." Steven muttered under his breath.

"Wait, when did you.." Marco questioned.

"That giant void of space said as much. My thoughts were…louder…when he explained it, but I understood it well enough now." The gem bluntly responded. "The only thing that's clear now is that I've just been a pawn in some sick game, and I'm tired of it."

"Good, because I am too." Steven looked at the two women sternly. "Live your lives, do what you want, just keep me and my family out of it."

Mina looked at her brother, clear distrust still evident, but nowhere near the levels of hate that she once exhibited. "You're…you're really not Rose, are you?" Oh fucking finally, this dense idiot got a clue of the fucking obvious.

"I'm done trying to explain the whole situation to anybody." Steven rubbed his forehead. "Can we just sit down and wait for the Crystal Gems so I can take a nap in my own bed?" As if to answer that, a loud roar rang into the air, and a pink portal was shot out, and from there, Lion hoped out of it, crashing into Steven. "Why…do…I keep…losing…air….?"

"STEVEN!" Lapis yanked Lion off and hugged the boy tightly. "Thank stars you're alive!"

"Colors…colliding…" Her brother struggled out.

"MARCO!" Peridot came out of it next and tackled her boyfriend. "I had calculated the chances of your survival to be the bare minimum, and then realized applying my brand of logic to the equation was stupid to even consider when you all render logical factors null and void!"

"So this … is what … no oxygen's … like …"

"Love….it's amazing but it'll also get you killed." Kelly remarked as the two of them watched their boyfriends get smothered to death in the affection.

"It sure will." Star laughed. "Almost makes you happy there isn't a gem that loves us to that level."

"Come here, best girls, you're not escaping the love fest." Bismuth snuck up from behind and gripped them both in a steel bending grip.

"I'm…flattered…and in great…pain." Kelly coughed out.

"Glad to see the B team is well and kicking." Ponyhead joked. "Wait, wasn't there a Pink one?"

The rest of them suddenly looked uncomfortable, looking away. "Well …" Lapis said quietly. "She kinda … joined Fluorite." If Star brain cells weren't currently dying from the lack of air in her lungs, she would've mustered up the strength to barf. She knew for a fact things could only be easier on earth.

========================================================================

Luz was no stranger to crazy plans. She had them, she joined them, heck, on some level, you could say she loved them. But even a girl as wild and bad as her knew there had to be a limit somewhere. "Wait, so your first plan was to go full Thanos on the Multiverse!?" Luz shot an accusing finger at Star. After enjoying the gaze of Earth's new/old moon in orbit, the whole friend group...the native earth one that was, gathered together to finally share what the heck happened.

"I told you we were resetting magic!" She shouted back. "What did you think was going to happen!?"

"Not multiversal genocide!" Anne rightfully shook the blonde girl. "I know we don't follow whatever plan the gods had for the universe, but even you had to know killing everyone on that scale is inexcusable!"

"She thought of that plan under stress in a high tense situation, alright!" Steven backed them off. "The Butterfly ghosts were being pessimistic about it and the Koloa himself came to tell it to our faces it was destiny."

"And you believed in some sort of 'god'." She asked. "You know they're assholes." The Kwami's were probably the exception.

"Actually he said it was a coin toss where he won either way, considering that Omnitraxus and the Solarian Knights were both unbeatable in the long run as long as magic was around." Star sighed. "But luckily for us, they didn't account for one thing."

"Deus ex machias?" Dipper inquired.

"No, the fact that we're too stubborn to let everyone die." Steven said firmly.

"That, and family kick's freaking ass." Star smiled with sparkles in her eyes. "I mean, I finally got to see Skywynne's time magic in action! And Celena, such a firefly demon under that shy demeanor! They were tossing up Omni like he was a fruit salad!"

"And as for Mina and Jasper, they're … somewhere." Marco looked up at Mewni. "They still don't like us, but they don't seem like they plan on attacking people anymore. Probably for the best we just leave the two of them be, they seem to be in a better headspace."

"Good, because after the homeworld incident, I can safely say I am done with fighting anything gem related from this moment onward." Kelly sighed as she laid down on the grass. "You know, it's actually pretty nice to see Mewni all the way from here. We can start our own travel service, pay people to use our ships to fly there."

"Bismuth said something about building a couple of extra swarp pads around town that lead off world too." Steven mentioned. "We're still out of luck with dimensional travel though."

Luz sighed. "We need to find an easier way to travel." The titan's blood was still enhancing magic, so there was a chance to build another portal with it.

"According to Phinieas, science can only move you linearly, so we're out of luck there." Marco lamented.

"It's not like it's the end of the world." Ben mentioned. "So it'll take a little while longer for us to see some of our friends again, so what? You guys teleported a freaking planet across the universe, so literally nothing is impossible for us."

It would be painful to not see Amity or Eda or the rest of the old gang when she's had to fight tooth and nail to keep in contact with them, but she could live with it if it meant she could see them again someday. "Alright, guys you guys have been through enough trouble as it is." She patted her soon to be brother on the back.

"Yeah, for once we're going to be given some time off, and we still have a wedding to plan." Steven smirked. "Life's truly a never ending battle."

"Yeah, so let's take a moment, for once in our lives, to relax." Star smiled as she hugged her brother.

BOOM

They all turned to the gaping white pillar of energy that one would see in any recent action movie in the middle of the town. "... We're never getting a day off." Steven grumbled.

Not having anything else to do, or having anyone else in town capable of doing anything, the group moved forward, the powerpuffs flying upward at the sky, where the pillar seemed to just keep going up and up. "Ah, I don't think this thing has an endpoint." Buttercup announced to the group.

"Okay, did anyone else here piss off any of the gods, or was that just us today?" Marco asked as they all approached the strange phenomenon.

"All we did was fight off the Knights on Mewni." Luz said. "Nobody talked to anyone deity-like today." They all turned as the light seemed to buzz almost like a broken school lightbulb, fuzzing in the air as it sent waves of static all around them.

"Okay guys, get ready for anything!" Star shouted as rainbows covered her fists. "We don't know what's going to come out of there!"

The light fizzled, and buzzed, and flickered until it rippled all over the place…..and out of it came KO, falling on his face. "Aha! I'm okay!"

"KO?" Luz tilted her head. "How are you here? You were next to me one minute fighting and disappeared the next."

"I don't know. I found myself sleeping on the floor of Gar's bodega when suddenly this white pillar appeared in the middle of the plaza." KO explained as he rubbed his head, turning to the bright light. "Exactly like this one."

Another buzz, as…Amity…the one she was the most devastated about never seeing again…popped out. "What the … Luz?"

"Amity!" She ran up, hugging the girl. "Where did you come from!?"

"A giant pillar of light opened up in the center of the boiling isles!" She turned around. "Like this one." Amity shook her head. "It looked freaky and weird, so I immediately thought that you'd might be involved with it somehow." A completely reasonable assessment.

"Steven … Star …" Dipper said slowly. "Did you poke a hole through reality?"

"When we were fixing magic as Rhapsody, we did say we wanted everyone to keep traveling so we can keep having fun and make friends." Star answered as she poked her hand through the white light. "With the dimensional scissors not working…I guess this is how it's going to be done now."

"... Congrats Steven." She turned to the boy. "You made Beach City the center of everything Weird and Wild across the multiverse." Luz nudged him playfully in the arm. She couldn't have been happier for it.

"It already was, this was just an excuse to not bother with formalities." He joked back. "So that ties up that problem pretty nicely. Only question now is how many worlds does this connect back to?"

The light fizzled again, as Finn, and Dewey popped out of the rift. "Ugh, major headache…that smarts so…so much." Finn groaned as he picked himself off the ground.

"We'll take it from here guys, just rest up." Mabel patted the others on the back. "Who here feels like testing a new interdimensional portal?"

"Oh I do!" The ninja flipped and entered it head first. "It's Ninja o'clock!"

"Guess we should save him before he gets himself hurt." Marco groaned as he moved forward.

"Oh, before we move on." Anne turned to the group. "Anything else you feel like you should tell us, any major and big things that may come back to bite us later?"

Steven was about to respond, but looked thoughtful. "Um … the Koala said that he's leaving the Multiverse to be … but honestly that may be for the best."

"So you guys not only just saved the multiverse from two genocidal disasters, you pissed off a god enough to get him to walk out on this section of reality." Jake, the dragon one, said with an amused smirk. "I don't know whether to call that horrifying or awesome."

"I say awesome." Kelly grabbed onto Steven. "Come on Steven, no more talk, victory snuggle."

"Kelly, we agreed not in-" Kelly ignored the protests as she went in for a deep kiss, one that Steven stopped fighting after two seconds.

"That reminds me." Star turned to her own boyfriend and grabbed him the same way. "You still owe me for what happened with Heckapoo, and I think I know exactly how you should."

"Doing your chores until you tell me to stop?"

"No, that wasn't what... Why was that the first thing you went to?"

"You've kinda been on a punishment streak lately, I've assumed the position." He groaned, before his lips were met by Star's. "Oh, you were trying to.."

"Yes, my brave and dumb squire, yes." Star smiled as she went in for a deep kiss again.

"Aww, young love in action." Luz smiled as everyone else just backed away. "Isn't it amazing to see it when the little people are able to make it work.

"You're the same age as them." Amity reminded her.

"Doesn't change the fact it's amazing."

========================================================================

Omnitraxus Prime groaned as he came to, trying to process the events around him. Last he remembered he finally got a one up over Steven … then he was supposed to die … why was he alive?

He certainly didn't mind being alive, but it confused him greatly. Did that brat actually manage to succeed? Did he actually resist everything and save everyone? Being alive wasn't worth it if the snot actually succeeded in the end.

Omnitraxus opened his eyes to see … a child's fantasy and an adult's nightmare. It was every color of the visible spectrum smudged together into sugar and sparkles as far as the eye could see.

Ice cream rivers, flaming rainbows in the sky, this had the Butterfly's handiwork all over it. "Welcome back to the land of the living." He turned to a unicorn, gazing at him. "You must be Omnitraxus Miden. I am Melody."

"I … what?" What was with the situation?

"The name change is to reflect your status. Zero, as in your lack of power and authority." The unicorn started. "You are bound now to my realm, subject to my rules."

"What?" He went forward to look it over…only to see that the bottom half of him was pure stone, wielded to the ground. " Where am I?"

"The new realm of magic." Melody carrier on. "As much grief as they gave me, my parents at least had the courtesy to expand the realm a little, as well as close off the chance for unwanted visitors corrupting it again."

Nothing was making sense. "They made a new realm … with new rules?" He asked.

"Yes." The unicorn went on. "They reset magic status, so for the most part, everyone with access to magic before still has it, minus a few unsavory characters." She walked around him. " Reinforced rules so those such as yourself can't take advantage of it while giving more freedom to others."

He growled. "It was already destroying space time with freedom … God himself got involved." The being up there probably was figuring out if this multiverse was worth salvaging.

"I wouldn't be too worried about him. For one, the Koala is of no more concern to this multiverse. He had fled." The unicorn stated. " He has renounced his authority over it."

That … was genuinely terrifying to consider. "And second, we have a new way to keep space time paradox free, and you're going to help with that." The unicorn turned her head. "Isn't that right, brother?"

"Yes, sister of Time Baby." … He slowly turned his head to the giant floating baby with an hourglass on its forehead. "This will be a sufficient power source."

Time baby!? He always assumed he was a sub creation made by Glosseryck. His head was constantly ringing with confusion as he felt wires and cords being plugged in his body. "Wait...you existed before, we crossed passed…you're telling me that you've always came from…?"

"Time Baby is preordained. Time Baby will set the timeline straight, the right way … and slowly control all life by the time of twenty snefenty two."

"Brother, seriously, you do not need that much control." The unicorn rolled their eyes.

"Are you saying you trust father and mother to not do something stupid?" They asked with an expectant look.

"Don't put words in my mouth." She argued. "They're not perfect, but they work hard to fix their mistakes. After all, you wouldn't be here if they didn't."

"Fine, but my task force over time will be a grueling one."

" Wait, wait.." Omni tried to get the words out as he felt shocks being sent through his body. "What do you mean by power source?"

"Did you not see what you're connected to?" He turned to … a baby bottle? "Where do you think the sands of time come from?"

Omni flinched as he felt another shock, watching as his essence was being sucked into the bottle. "You embody the universe, and the universe is infinite."

Which meant he could feed this freakin baby for eternity…which means he was stuck here for all eternity…an eternity as nothing more than a cow teat for this cosmic bedwetter to suck off. And Omni only had one source to blame .. "CURSE YOU BUTTERFLY FAMILY!"

"No cursing around Time Baby! Shocking punishment!"

========================================================================

Glossaryck honestly didn't think he would live. But here he was, watching as the family slept peacefully and worry free. The boy that saved them all snored like a kitten as he nuzzled into the woolet's hair like a pillow.

The genie never once had a genuine surprise in his life. He faked it many times, got close to experiencing it when he had doubts people would actually do what he saw.

There were also times the higher ups did something that changed the flow of everything, such as the creation of Diamonds. One of which turned out to be his closest friend … and her son saved him in the end.

In spite of the fact that the boy hated him, in spite of the fact he pushed Steven's buttons so that Star would have someone to motivate her when she was discouraged by him.

Glossaryck never tried to be likable, he just did what he needed to do as he waited for his inevitable demise … but now that demise wasn't here …

He knew the boy would derail the track into someplace interesting…he just never expected the train to lead somewhere else entirely. Glosseryck didn't have the clarity for the future he once had, the entire road was unclear…and he couldn't help being happy about it.

The boy was so determined he created his own third option, one no one would've saw coming. Maybe there was actually something about being an optimist. Glosseryck would never claim to be one ever, not even after today…but maybe it was time to put aside some of that pessimistic viewpoint he's held onto for so long. Give hope a shot.

Then again, this next conversation might ruin that all together. The genie watched as the body of Mr Crandle walked up to him. "So I've gotta ask, do you think it was just coincidence, or association on a subconscious level, since he thinks i'm the evil one?" The man asked.

"Probably the first, I doubt they'd recognize you unless you spelled it out for them … Koala."

"For the last time, it's God, and the species just happens to look like me-forget it, I'm speaking to a brick wall with you."

"Old habits die hard. Then again, I'm still here having this conversation with you when I shouldn't."

"Yes … you should be." They noted. "The fates are going to tear into that boy … or he'll tear into them."

"So, you're not going to delete him yourself?" Glossaryck asked with a raised eye. "That's usually your style."

"Nah, I made a promise, and might as well follow through...Besides … I want him to admit his mistake." Mr Candle smirked. "When everything goes to shit, he'll beg for me to come back and fix everything."

If what happened today was any indication, as well as what the guardian had speculated about the future, then that wasn't going to happen, but why ruin the surprise? "I guess we'll just have to wait and see where the chips fall." He shrugged. "Then I guess this is it." It felt weird to say goodbye forever to essentially his own maker.

"Yes ... so do you actually know where the stump came from, because for the existence of me I can't see it."

"Full disclosure, I'm pretty sure Axolotl did it. Too passive to be the snake." There was a five percent chance it was Black Hat, a monster that kills you during the holiday seemed vindictive enough for him.

"It probably was that guy …" Koala smirked. "The perception of morality … so cute …" They blinked, Mr Candle standing up confused. "Where am I … who am I?"

"No one important to the story, that I can assure you." Glosseryck smirked as he floated off.
