Summary:
Family will always have your back
"We need … to make a break for it …" Marco coughed. "We'll head to … the sanctuary." He could still feel the stab wound in his gut.
"Hold on, let me heal." Steven licked his palm and placed it on him, warming his body as the pain and injuries went away. "Good, now where are the others?"
"Right here!" Kelly shouted out, running alongside Amethyst, Lion, and Tom. "And we totally smoked Jasper!"
"Heck yeah we did!" Amethyst high-fived the woolet. "So what's the plan with this entire world getting destroyed again?"
"You all get back to Mewni while I charge up the magic seed." Steven said, glancing down at the box. "Before anything else bad happe-"
"Steven …" They all groaned at the timing, turning to Omnitraxus … who was looking worse than he did with a soulless corpse. His skull was cracking, the stars in his body exploding as they collapsed into singularities. "You actually … went through … with this …" His arm fell off his body.
"Yes, but unlike you, I actually plan on saving everyone." Steven showed off the seed. "When I charge this up, I'll be able to resist magic and stop everyone from needlessly dying."
Omnitraxus stared at the small thing, before laughing. "It looks like … you won't save everyone …" He said ominously as one of his horns fell off.
"Oh no, such a shame that you're gone…not." Star grumbled.
"Oh not me …" He chuckled. "Things that collapse reality and logic are quite deadly … even to higher beings … the likes of Glossaryck couldn't even hope to survive a universe collapsing directly, that's why he waited from the outside when Skywyne did it …" He cackled as his body began to suck itself in. "You won't survive, you'll fix the world but kill yourself doing it!"
Everyone gasped as they turned to the boy, whose expression only faltered for a second before returning to normal. "Steven, you can't actually go through-!" Moon tried to call out.
"I have to. I'm not going to put my life above everyone else's, that's not who I am." Steven said firmly.
"The death of Steven Universe … I can finally vanish …" Only the skull was left. "With this nightmare over …" Which faded to ash and stardust.
"Steven…" Kelly's eyes were covered by her hair, but there was clear anger and sadness being conveyed in it.
"Kelly.." Steven tried to say something, only to get a slap in the face.
"You selfless moron! What about all we just went through!? All the struggles we had! The fighting!? The laughter!? The pain, the joy?! Did it mean nothing to you!?" Kelly sobbed as she dug her hands deep into Steven's back. "Don't leave me…Please….Please don't leave me."
"I'm sorry …" He hugged her back. "I went through all this effort to try and save everyone, I'm not stopping now just because it's my life vs theirs … I wouldn't live with myself if I did …"
"I know…I know….I know you wouldn't." Kelly wiped her eyes as she grabbed Steven's face, and kissed him deeply with equal amounts of sadness and passion being shared between the two of them. "Promise me you'll live."
"Kelly…"
"PROMISE ME!" Kelly shook Steven violently. "Promise me you'll do something even more batshit insane than making an entire dimension! Promise me that you'll pull out some deus ex machina and find a way to save yourself! PROMISE ME!" She looked at the boy.
"I promise." Steven reassured Kelly. "I promise I'll figure something out." He told her. "Now the rest of you need to go." The world began to make a groaning noise as the sky and ground continued to darken and crack. "It's getting worse."
"No." Star responded. "I'm not leaving you." She began to cry up. "I'll stay with you to the end … no matter what … you're my brother." She hugged him.
"And you're my sister." He hugged her back. "... Which is why I can't let you stay. Marco, make sure she gets back safe."
He looked at his girlfriend brokenly before shaking his hand. "Right, I will."
"No, NO! DON'T YOU DARE DIAZ!" Star shouted as she pulled him away from her brother.
"Tom, help me get her to the portal." Marco asked.
"Ah…alright." Tom dejectedly said as he grabbed her other arm. "Steven…I'm sorry."
"Don't be…just…just stay happy." Steven wiped away tears as he hugged Amethyst.
"We just can't help but lose you again and again, don't we?" The short purple gem sobbed.
"You know me, I always find a way back somehow." Steven brokenly chuckled. "You should head back through the earth portal, you know, meet up with everyone else there." That was weird, everyone was on Mewni.
"NO! NO! NO! LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" Star shouted as she continued to be dragged out. "We can't leave him behind! He's my brother! Mom! He's our family!"
"I know that! I know that far…far too well!" Moon cried just as much. "I'm failing him just by leaving him, but I'd fail him more if I'd tried to stop him!"
"The best we can have right now is faith." Eclipsa hid her face beneath her hat to hide the sadness. "That's all any of us can have." She sadly said as she entered the Mewni well along with her daughter.
Marco was about to drag her into the well… until he hit it like a solid object. "What the …" He began pounding against the thing. "It won't let me in!" They couldn't be trapped here, not when they went so far!
Worried, Moon reached forward, her hand going through it easily. "It let me in just fine." This doesn't make any sense.
"... Everything ends up … where it belongs …" His girlfriend said brokenly.
"...What?"
"If magic's destroyed, everything ends up where it belongs." Star repeated with horror.
"No … nonononono." Kelly began to hyperventilate, eyes dilating. "The only people back on Woolia are my family and Tad, i'm not going back to that, I can't I can't I can't I can't-"
"You won't!" Marco gave his own slap to the girl. "Magic's going to be fixed, alright!? Steven's going to save everyone, and we're going to see each other all the time and get into more life threatening adventures!" Even if he was doubting the plan more and more as it went on. "Everything's going to end up fine, and you're not going to be alone!"
Kelly was quiet for a second before shaking her head. "Right…right…that's the plan." Kelly walked off. "Guess I'll just…find the well to my place." She looked at all the geysers shooting upward. "Gotta be one of them."
"Marco. Tom" Star said quietly. "You need to head back to Earth and the Underworld, before it gets too late." The well started to wobble. "These things won't stay open forever."
"Right." Tom nodded as he turned to him. "Friends?" He held out his hand.
"Friends." Marco smiled as he shook it. From asshole to close friend, what a world they lived in.
"Star, we have to get going." Moon held out her hand to Star as she was halfway through the well.
"Marco…." Star looked at him teary eyed. "I don't want to lose you….Not you too…I can't lose you too."
"You won't." He assured her. "Steven will fix it, and everything will be okay, alright?" He assured her. He wanted to believe his own words … but a nagging feeling in his heart said otherwise.

Globgor stood up, looking over his body. "I'm fine." He noted. "The white marks are gone."
"Good show my man!" River said with a laugh. "You beat it off … somehow." He looked confused.
"I think that Omni dude may have been right …" They turned to the weak and pale looking Ponyhead. "I can't feel my mojo …"
"What the heck are they doing in there?" The human girl, Jana he thought it was, asked as they looked over the well that was now filled with greenish-black sludge, before it started to bubble. "Hold up people, something's coming through!"
They all took a step back and prepared for the worse as it exploded, and out of it came… "My darkest star!" Globgore rushed over to his wife and child and held onto them desperately. "I didn't think I would see the two of you together again."
"Globgor, you're healed!" Eclipsa shouted in glee as his family was reunited once more, and this time, he planned on nothing separating it again. "The first part of the kid's plan is working."
"Wait…so…..B-fly and Q-fly ARE destroying magic!?" Ponyhead freaked out.
"Yes, but Steven's resetting it, so you should be fine….probably."
"I mean, I would have appreciated a heads up if you were gonna risk my life!" She shouted. "I have so many regrets and things to say …!" The well bubbled up again, and out of it came Moon and Star. "I love you like a sister B-fly!" The head jumped into Star's arms.
"Oh Pony, I'm so sorry!" Star hugged the horse's head. "Everything's terrible and nothing is going right!" Star cried.
"Whoa, Star, what's wrong?" Jana asked. "Is everyone else still coming, because the sludge is getting a little…" The water began to ripple violently and bubble rapidly like it was exploding. "..Freaky."
"Steven's still inside of the magic." Moon explained. "He has to be there to charge the magic seed to save everyone that has magic."
"And he'll do it." River gave a small smile. "I believe in that boy to do many impossible things, he'll get out of there scratchless." The looks on his family's faces seemed to say otherwise.
"What about everyone else?" Ponyhead asked. "What about bush head and Earth turd?"
"Marco, Tom, and Kelly…they can't come to Mewni. Magic being destroyed is sending everything back to their home dimensions." Star said as she stared down at the well.
"Well … that would explain my new look." They all turned to Jana … who looked downright transparent. "Ghost clear, glad to see I can pull it off."
Before anyone could say anything else, the walls around them began to crumble and rock as the once magic water of the sanctuary began to roar violently. "This is coming down on us!" Globgor shifted himself to big size to stop the bricks on the ceiling from falling on top of everyone else. "We need to leave before we go down with it!"
"Right! Star, come on!" Moon grabbed her daughter's hand, but the girl didn't budge, still looking at the well intensely. "Star…"
"Mom….I can't leave him." Star pleaded with the woman. "I can't…I can't leave my brother behind."
"And I can't lose you too." The woman begged, pulling harder. "Please, please leave with us."
"Mom…Dad." Star pulled her family into a large hug. "I love you guys." Before shoving herself away and down the well.
"Star no!" River seemed to realize that the situation was more dire than it seemed, running with a speed Globgor could only dream of as he tried to jump in … but the liquid magic had dried. "NO!" He began punching the stone hard enough to crack it. "GIVE HER BACK!"
"Star! Steven! My babies!" Moon cried as Eclipsa pulled the two grieving parents out of the way of a collapsing stone.
"I empathize with you two far more than you'll ever know, but if you even want a spectrum of a chance to see your children again, we need to flee now! " Eclipsa commanded.
Globgor grew his hands, grabbing the two parents as they began to run. Jana tried to pick up Ponyhead, but phased right through her. "I'm sorry, it looks like my time is-" Those were the last words she said before she vanished.
"Don't worry, I got you!" Eclipsa picked up the unicorn girl as they made their way out.
"How…How likely are they to pull this off?" Ponyhead asked weakly.
"If I'd told you the likelihood, you'd lose faith tremendously." Once again, his wife's words were very, very damning.
========================================================================
"Come on, come on." Steven held onto the chunk of magic tightly. "Work, power up, do something." He tried pushing it in and out of the magic once more, with no effect. "Light up! Blow up! Do anything other than be a piece of rock!" His body was glowing pink from the frustration, but even that wasn't having an effect. "Of all the times for my stupid powers to fail, now has to be the worst!"
"They could've failed during any of your fights with Mina." And as if he wasn't in enough hell already, the only company he had in this decaying dimension was Glosseryck. "Or during your encounter with the Diamonds, which I have to say, I didn't see coming." The man chuckled as he floated in the air. "Actually getting them to stop colonizing, never would've called it in this lifetime."
"As if this wasn't bad enough, I gotta deal with annoying commentary." He rolled his eyes. "Why are you so on board with magic dying anyways?"
"I'm a realist. No offense, but if someone's going to take advantage of something good, then might as well get rid of it all." Glosseryck shrugged. "Nothing malicious, that's just how I feel."
"You sound exactly like a Koala." Steven grunted as he turned his attention back to the rock. "Magic is just a tool. Science is a tool. Powers are a tool. There's always someone going to use it for themselves." He knew that getting everyone to stop fighting wasn't possible. "But as long as the chance to do something good with it still exists, then I'm not giving up on it."
"And that's why you're an optimist." Glossaryck commented. "Well if it's any consolation, we're not the only ones dying."
"Yeah, yeah, billions across the multiverse, don't remind me." Steven rolled his eyes.
"Well that, and also them." He looked where Glossaryck was pointing, which showed … Mina Loveberry, digging through the decaying mud.
"Come on … where are you … you're here, aren't you … right Jasper?" She asked with a broken voice. "They didn't say anything about bubbling you … you're here somewhere … where are you …"
Steven wished he could do something for her, but he couldn't. He wasn't and couldn't be the person to give her comfort when everything was dying around them. "I don't like it, but she did that to herself…I can't help her."
"I think you finally learned the lesson I've been trying to teach you." The little man smiled. "Accepting that some things can't be saved … you should go to earth while you have the chance."
He looked at the well, the well that led to earth as it began to fizzle out, the well that would lead to earth, the one with his earth friends, the one with the crystal gems and his human dad…the one without Star. "I…I can't. It's not home if I don't have Star."
"I feel the same." … They both turned to Marco.
"What are you still doing here!?" Steven shouted.
"The portal to Mewni wouldn't accept me, and I'm pretty sure Kelly was planning on staying behind to … given how she kinda abandoned her planet."
"You're supposed to be the smart guy!" Steven pleaded.
"... Well maybe it's time to be dumb." Marco smirked. "I'm not abandoning you Steven." He placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Neither am I." Before he could fully comprehend whose voice called out to him, his face was met with a warm embrace and a full head of fluffy green hair. "Yeah, I barely go back home as it is, so it's either head back and live the rest of my life in a dimension where my dad abandoned me and my ex abused me, or spend the last few seconds in a dying realm next to the boy I love above all else." Kelly kissed him on the cheek. "Like that was a hard choice at all."
"So two people I care about are going to die because I can't get this stupid thing to work." Steven looked at the chunk. "Look at the positives Steven. Star is safe and sound."
"STEVEN!" Said girl hugged him. "I'm not letting you go, ever!"
"OH COME ON!" Steven yelled, even though his body betrayed him as his arms squeezed his sister back, desperate to never lose her ever again. "So none of us wanted to play it safe?"
"Is that a rhetorical question?" Star laughed. "Because let me ask you this. Would you have done the same thing I did?"
"Absolutely, but you don't get to call me a hypocrite when-" He was stopped as they began floating. "What's going on?" Why did it feel like the moon?
"Well for the science nerd to explain." Glossaryck turned to Marco. "We've gotten so close to the end that the fundamental four forces stopped working."
"We're going to lose oxygen and things are going to go atomic! Bubble us Steven!" Marco said desperately.
Steven did so, and the four of them were now trapped in a cramped bubble as everything started to collapse. From the sky to the ground, everything began swirling and swirling around like they were in the midst of a hurricane. "Good, that buys us like…another good five minutes longer to live." Kelly commented as the lights began disappearing, the only thing allowing them to see being his own bubble.
"This was a terrible plan." Star lamented. "We just … we were so low on options and … now so many people are going to …" She cried. "I'm…I'm a terrible person."
"No, you're not Star." Marco reassured me. "You were just scared and desperate."
"And because of that, Ponyhead's going to die! Tom's going to die! Luz's friends will die! Who knows what'll even happen with the Kwami's…I…I…I made everything worse…" Star cried into her hands. "I really am the worst Butterfly ever…"
"I helped you…so…I'm the worst Diamond ever." Steven sighed as he scooted closer to Star. "Just a couple of naive screw ups always in over their head."
"Hey….it was a good ride while it lasted." Kelly rubbed his back. "You guys gave me the adventure of a lifetime, I'm never going to regret that."
"And if I hadn't met you guys, I would have just been the safe kid who never got a girl." Marco patted Star's back. "Remember how I went fourteen years with just passing waves?"
"Yeah, and now you're fifteen and have immortal demons wanting to smooch you." Star rolled her eyes but laughed all the same. "I should've made one last trip to the Neverzone, do the same with Brunzetta."
"Nuh-uh, that goddess belongs to Kurtz." Kelly laughed. "We got upgraded to hand holding and a level of self reassurance that the world of fighting belongs to us."
"Who knows, one day we may have even stolen your title, Marco." Steven joked.
"A likely story. You want my title, you'll have to pry it from my cold, dead body!" Marco chuckled as they all started giggling. It…It felt just right. Being here in the end just….felt right. "Star….I love you."
"I love you too Marco, more than you'll ever know." Star responded with a short but passionate kiss to her boyfriend, before turning to Kelly. "I know I've been hard on you and haven't been the best of friends to you…but thank you for making Steven happy."
"It's alright, I deserve some flack." Kelly nodded as she held his hand. "I'm glad we can do this together…just the four of us."
"Yeah…I don't know if it's destiny or fate or something like that…but I know for a fact we belong together." Steven said as he felt a familiar warmness appear on his cheeks.
They embraced all four of them, these final moments enveloping them with a warmth that melded the four of them together in even death … wait no, that was fusion.
========================================================================
The new being blinked into existence. What? What? What? WHAT? "Oh hey, new life." They turned to Glossaryck. "Picked a hell of a time to be born." An asshole like always.
Hang on, hang on, roll call. Steven here. Star. Kelly. MARCO. Starry Quartz!STARCO!Kurtz. And … me, gazing at my hands. Man, it's been a while. I would have loved to take on some of the fights you guys have been dealing with. Sorry, everything's been hectic, Diamond's were tricky to fight, then Star lost her magic, no telling what you would've been like fueled by dark magic. Dude, we know, we're in your head.Well my head … me … name?
Stecolly? Kevco? Melcon. Lame, have some creativity. KIND OF HARD TO HAVE WHEN EVERYTHING'S RINGING IN HERE LIKE A CHAOTIC RHAPSODY. Rhapsody? "I'm Rhapsody." … BETTER THAN STARRY QUARTZ. Hey, don't make me come over there!CAN YOU DO THAT, CONSIDERING WE'RE ALREADY HERE!?Existentialism while we all die, sounds appropriate.
Rapsody, the nonexistent ending crushing down on their bubble. "... No." NO? "This … is not the end." They grabbed the chunk, breaking it open, letting liquid float in the air. Their fingers went forward, dabbing into it. Painting an image of DIAGRAMS that would solve hope and victory.
What are we doing? I THINK WE'RE DRAWING A UNIVERSE! Aw man, I knew I should've taken an art class. Don't worry bro, I got enough creativity for all of us! Rhapsody continued to wave their fingers around as the colors began colliding all around them, surrounding them in a rainbow vortex with a golden tint.
IF WE'RE DOING THIS, THAN THE REALM NEED TO BE STRUCTURED RIGHT. Got it, only one flaming rainbow across the sky.YOU KNOW WHAT, WHY DON'T I TRY TO MAKE A LESS FLAMMABLE UNIVERSE? Yeah, let's make it so everything here knows how to take a punch! Oh, like punching gloves that naturally grow on trees!A river flowing with ice cream with cookie cat lily pads!
They worked, adding every suggestion as golden pink expanded within the bubble, compressed, but not ready to release quite yet. We need to set locks on this thing, we don't need another Mina. BUT DON'T TAKE AWAY CHOICE, EVERYONE DESERVES THAT, NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE.Maybe we should try some sort of middle man? No, that was the Commission. They're right, we're not out to conquer and control, above all else, we want everyone to be free to have fun. But people should still have consequences for their actions. Of course, can't just let people get away with mass murder scott free.
We're kind of on the clock here, if we're having consequences or rules, now's the time. ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT. RULE NUMBER ONE, NO MUDER. Simple and basic, with no room for interpretation. Rule two, restore everyone that's born with magic. Species, races, let them have it. Oh yeah, we definitely need to bring Firstborn back to life, maybe give her a name this time.
Rule three, time paradoxes. Let people travel the timeline, but have a system or something in place to clean it of any messes. Oh, let's make a baby in charge. We do not need to put any more stuff on our children Starry Quartz, let them live in peace.
Rule four, free the Mewmans of any magic traces.Doesn't that contradict rule two? WOULD YOU TRUST ANY MEWMANS WITH MAGIC AFTER TODAY? Fair point.
Rule five. People are free to travel the multiverse. Yeah, fuck the Koala! So what if we're slowly destroying existence!? That won't happen, because there's always going to be someone that rises to the occasion to fix it!
Feelings of determination, hope, love, and LOYALTY filled their hearts as Rhapsody expanded the picture around them, each blob of paint falling into place as if it was following the tune of a marvelous melody.
And feeling it was truly done, they dropped the bubble … and FOUGHT EMPTINESS WITH RECREATION! Empathy will fill the void. Love will fill the air. DECAY ITSELF WILL WITHER AWAY. AND NOTHING Will ever Break THEM APART!

Pearl was fighting Solarian Knights one minute, the next she was back on the beach with Garnet and Jana. "Wait … what just happened?"
"I…I don't know…I.." Garnet looked as baffled as ever, adjusting her glasses. "Something big happened. The Knights' swords suddenly stopped glowing and now we're here."
"I'm back!" Jana yelled as she felt around her body. "For a second I thought I was being thanos'd."
"I'm sorry, thanwhat?" Pearl asked.
"Guys!" She turned her head to Amethyst and Luz. "You're back!"
"Amethyst, you're here!" Pearl looked at the two, noticing the distinct lack of children behind them. "Where's Steven?"
"He stayed behind to fix up magic, but the well closed." She said with worry. "I tried punching my way back in but there was nothing …"
"I was just right next to KO when we started fading away." Luz spoke next with a puzzled and worried look. "I appeared here, but he didn't."
"He likely ended up back in his home dimension." Garnet answered solemnly. "If magic is destroyed, then the multiverse sets everyone where they belong."
"What … then Steven should be here right? And Marco?" Pearl looked around, trying to find them. "STEVEN!" She shouted, running to look around. "WHERE ARE YOU!?"
"Wait, if Magic's destroyed..." Luz's eyes lit up in horror. "Then..then does that mean I can't see Amity again? If Magic's gone.." The girl fell to the ground. "Is she even still alive?"
"No, I'm sure Steven's fixing it, right …" Jana patted her on the back, but worry was in her eyes too. "He has to … Tom and so many other people live with magic …"
"This can't it, this can't be, this can't.." Pearl wiped her eyes of the tears that were threatening to take over her face. "After all we've been through…we can't lose him again."
They heard Greg's van driving by as he got out. "I heard an explosion a lot bigger than usual, what's going on?" He looked around, the poor man quickly catching on to what the problem was. "Where's Steven?"
"Greg...I'm sorry." Garnet started to speak up from her weeping. "Steven…Star..the kids-"
The radio on Greg's van started to act up. "Here I am … once again … feeling lost but now and then."
"Weird, I don't have the keys in." Greg looked at his vehicle strangely.
"I breathe it in … to let it go …" His van began to spark with pink strings of electricity. "And you don't know where you are now."
"Dude, has your car always been able to do that?" Amethyst asked. "I would've taken it on more joyrides if that was the case."
"Or what it would come to, if only somebody could hear." Luz squeaked as her phone started zapping inside of her pants, quickly tossing it to the ground. "And you figure out how."
"Who is singing?" Jana asked as she tossed out her own sparking phone. "I wanna say it sounds familiar but something about it sounds off."
"You're lost in the moment you disappearer." They heard screaming, looking to sing the entire city sparking with pink arcs of lightning. "You don't have to be afraid to put your dreams in action!" Which began shooting to the sky.
"What … is this Steven …" Pearl asked with hope, as the song and flashes of energy continue to run wild.
"Whatever it is, it's huge, magic, and I don't know if it's putting us in danger or not!" Garnet called out as the light got brighter and brighter.
"You're never gonna fade, you'll be the main attraction!" Energy gathered, climbing higher and higher as it seemed to reach the sun itself. "Not a fantasy, just a memory, when it turns alright."
"Steven, Star!" Jana called out in the air. "Marco! Kelly! If you can hear me, then please come back!"
"Yeah! I didn't spend so many hours planning a wedding just to do it solo!" Luz shouted. "I want my whole family there to see it!"
"Cause you know that if you live in your imagination, Tomorrow, you'll be everybody's fascination." The voice got louder and louder as the skies began to swirl with a myriad of colors. "In my victory, just remember me"
"Steven…please be okay!" Pearl called out as the sky began to rumble with thunder. "Please, please be okay!"
"When I make it shiiiinnnnne!" That last lyric was punctuated by the ball of energy in the heavens exploding … and the wind picked up as the pulsing energy got closer and closer, Pearl feeling like she was having some minor flashbacks to the Diamond's light attack.
Garnet reached forward, extending her gauntlets to a very bulky size in an attempt to shield them … as the wave hit, crushing Greg's van and causing the ocean to part, glasses and pavement crumbling being heard all around them.
When the shockwave finally finished, everyone looked around. Windows were shattered, walls cracked, and the road was practically gone, but it looked like there was no major damage…
"MY LEG!" Someone shouted in the distance.
…for the most part. "What the heck was that?!" Jana stood up from the ground as Luz was down on the ground, staring and pointing her finger upward. "Girl, what are you looking at?
"Pointing at the … sudden eclipse …" They all looked, the sun bloated out by a sphere in the sky.
"An Eclipse?" Pearl was baffled. "But that can't be. The cycle for that has already passed."
"Hey, is it just me, or does that moon look more…colorful than the normal one." Greg pointed out, and as Pearl inspected closer, she noticed that it did look peculiar…or rather, it looked familiar…
"It's Mewni.." Pearl gasped. "It's back in orbit…like it was six thousand years ago."
"... So …" Amethyst said quietly. "I know I'm not a space nerd like everyone else but … putting a planet in orbit out of nowhere isn't good, right?"
"Mewni was Earth's second moon originally before it was sent to another dimension." Garnet mentioned as they all stared at the sight. "A couple of mountains might be a few feet smaller now, but otherwise the damage is rather minimal."
"Cool, cool …" Jana nodded. "Hey Luz … does magic still work?"
Luz shook herself out of her daze and immediately began drawing in the sand, creating one of those glyph pictures she always carried around, and gently pressed her foot on it, where it shot up a pillar of ice. "The magic still works…my glyph still works! Magic is still around! Do you know what this means!?"
"That the kids succeeded in resisting magic?" Pearl suggested with a huge sense of relief inside of her.
"Actually, I was going to say that Eda, Amity, and all of my friends on the boiling isles are still alive, but that's good too!"
"Cool, cool … So where are they?" Everyone blinked at Amethyst's question.
"There's only one place they can be really." Jana pointed upward. "So do we go up there, or wait for them to come to us?"
