"Codex: Poro

Poros are the mysterious, magical, and much-loved creatures seemingly originating from the Freljord. They have since spread across all of Azeroth, being present on every known continent, in every region and nation.

Poros are equal parts truth, valor, and innocence. The first design had a color described as 'very light blue, like Freljordian snow', later revisions show off-white or white fur. They have a heart-shaped underbelly because they're made of love. A poro's horns perk up when it's excited and droop down when it's scared. Poros paddle through deep snow with their front paws. Some believe that poros are indestructible. Poros stick their tongue out because they are incredibly warm. This is why they can survive the harsh, cold environment of the Howling Abyss.

Within the Phoenix Kingdom lives the biggest population of Poros from the entirety of Azeroth. Poros are no less intelligent than any other species, even though they are not capable of speaking in the more conventional sense.

Within the confines of the Kingdom, the Poros are actively participating in most of the life and due to their sentience and self-thought, all of them have citizenship of the Phoenix Kingdom.

Many Poros are either in the Army or different branches of the Royal Military. Poros even acts as a companion to the high-ranking members of the Kingdoms, including the members of the Royal Septim Dynasty.

Aside from the Fire Nation's territory, a huge population of Poros lives in the other cold-climate areas of Azeroth, because this climate is most suitable for the Poros. Many of them settled in the Northren when they somehow got there from the Holwling Abyss in the Freljord.

A sizable population of Poros is also located within the Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron, but mostly within the wilds of the Northern areas of the Eastern Kingdoms. Most of the Poros that live in the wilderness usually avoid any contact with humans or High Elves if they have a choice, as they live in the depths of the uncharted nature of the Eastern Kingdoms.

During the time of the Dark Portal Wars, the Poros were also participating in the War or in other conflicts. Even though Poros are peaceful creatures, they could be rather fierce when defending their own territory or defending their own allies.

Though it is the Phoenix Kingdom that is using the Poros as their national mascots, as Poros usually accompanies soldiers to the battlefield or even regular people. Sometimes the Poros were playing soldiers or even pirates, depending on their mood and personality."

Stranglethorn Vale, Zul'Gurub

The battle was won.

Every single Jungle Troll was killed, sans a few of the Shamans, Priests, and Mages that were currently being rounded up and transported to the Fire Islands, where they would be interrogated, and every bit of information and knowledge would be extracted from their minds.

Aside from these Trolls, the only ones that were spared for the time being, were the leaders who held information about the remaining pockets of resistance of the Jungle Troll Tribal Coalition, as Stormwind was eager to clean out the southern continent from the Troll filth completely.

Not like Aenarion was against, as they had already achieved their goals, so he would be withdrawing to their territory, which the Fire Nation obtained from the conquest.

Per agreement with Stormwind.

Currently, Stormwind controlled approximately 70% of the continent, with only things that were not under their control being the territories of the Goblins and Fire Nation colonies in the Western Coasts.

The rest was under the control of the descendants of Arathi.

Aenarion was certain that the descendants of the Arathi would soon colonize the entirety of the southern Azeroth. In the end, they still had more than enough time before the Dark Portal would be opened and with it, the turbulent age of Azeroth would begin.

Still, what pained Aenarion a bit was the number of casualties that the Fire Nation suffered as they lost around three thousand troops.

Which wasn't really a lot, but it wasn't low either.

It was something in the middle.

Nevertheless, the Fire Nation secured itself a large swath of territory in the eastern shores of the southern Azeroth. Aenarion was already itching to start the construction of the colonies, as they also had some very rich ore veins within the territory that fell to the Fire Nation.

The main territories that belonged to the Fire Nation after the war were the areas of the Redridge Mountains that were rich in natural resources and ores.

Also, parts of the Swamps of Sorrows and other areas that were near the coast.

What was more problematic was the fact that this was the place where the Dark Portal would open in the future, so they would need to prepare for it eventually, as that would certainly be problematic.

Yet it wasn't anything that was out of the possibilities of the Fire Nation.

Currently, Aenarion was in the command tent together with King Wrynn and the rest of the leadership from both Fire Nation and Stormwind. Accompanying them were the Dwarves of Ironforge and some Gnomes of Gnomeregan who were here merely as guests.

"I will be leading the army down to the south, to the borders with the Goblin Cartels, to crush the remnants of the Gurubashi Trolls and their isolated towns. I doubt that Goblins would help Trolls, considering the fact that our Armadas would be on their doors the moment they did anything."

As Aenarion heard that, he made a mental note to head toward the south of Azeroth, to meet with the representatives of the Blackfuse Company with the offer that the Goblins cannot refuse.

The Goblins of the Blackfuse Company and Siegecrafter Hellix Blackfuse were probably the only trustworthy Goblins in existence, as the rest of their species was just too greedy for their own good.

Aenarion wanted to procure their services for the Fire Nation, as the Blackfuse Company possessed some really nasty and advanced pieces of technology that were ahead of Azerothian technology.

In canon, in one of the alternate timelines, Garrosh Hellscream enlisted the help of the Blackfuse Company and created Iron Horde. Orks using moderns and the most advanced Goblin pieces of technology...

Ranging from cold weapons like expertly crafted swords and axes, through powerful full-body armors, to guns and siege engines like none other. Aenarion knew that Goblins would work with anyone who paid them, so he wanted to deprive the Orks of one of the biggest headaches that the defenders of Azeroth could have on their hands.

Just like they worked with Horde when the Horde invaded Azeroth, they were rather quick to fold, or rahter, it wasn't even needed to exert pressure on them, as they joined the movement when they were promised money.

Aenarion knew that in the long run, the Goblins would be a problem in correlation with the Horde, though they would also be immensely useful in the fight against the Horde if persuaded or against different threats to Azeroth.

"Forces of Fire Nation would remain at the Zul'Gurub, stripping the city of everything of value, before we would blast it into oblivion."

Per their agreement with Stormwind, the loot from the Zul'Gurub and major Jungle Trolls settlements that were encountered by their joint forces would exclusively belong to the Fire Nation.

This was something that Aenarion negotiated with King Wrynn, because the Fire Nation was putting more troops into the war than Stormwind. The Fire Nation has deployed several Legions, each Legion numbering 10,000 men, to the conflict, and this wasn't even counting the specialized units.

Like Sardaukar, Imperial Bending Legion, or Crownsguards...

Stormwind would get more territory as they needed territorial expansion because they were slowly facing overpopulation. This was also the major reason why many of the Stormwindian nobles were pushing King Wrynn for the expansion, but it was for naught.

King Wrynn wasn't going to attack the Jungle Trolls in their home turf, as it would result in a staggering amount of casualties.

Still, with the addition of the Fire Nation in the equation, the situation has changed drastically, and now, they have managed to completely defeat and destroy the Jungle Trolls in the southern Azeroth.

Now that the Jungle Trolls were subjugated entirely, Stormwind could expand further and further to the south, as there was no one who would be obstructing them. For the Fire Nation, the existence of the territorial expansion wasn't really a priority, because of their relatively low population of around 3 million people.

Considering the size of the Fire Islands and the surrounding islands that were transported to this world together with the Fire Islands, the living space wasn't a problem for the Fire Nationers.

The only thing that Aenarion cared for was the resources and what he could obtain from them. That has proved itself in the form of untold amounts of gold and precious gems that were extracted from the Zul'Gurub.

Aenarion was rather satisfied with the outcome of the war against the Jungle Trolls, as they had obtained a lot. In the end, the territory under the direct control of the Fire Nation has more than doubled, if Aenarion counted the colonies in the eastern coasts of Azeroth.

Obviously, those ones would need to be colonized, which would take some time.

Aenarion felt that it was time to finish the last part of the reformation of the Fire Nation.

Proclamation of the Kingdom.

"There are still some isolated groups of the Jungle Trolls in the south. We should be careful when approaching the trolls, as they could still pose a moderate level of threat."

Aenarion nodded, hearing what King Wrynn had said because there were still some pockets of resistance among the Jungle Trolls in the south of Azeroth, but neither of them was powerful enough or dangerous enough to threaten Stormwind or Fire Nation.

"I am aware, but for that reason, I would be leaving half of the army on the continent to finish the complete cleaning of the continent until every single Jungle Troll in our ends of the world is found and killed."

Aenarion, as the Fire Lord, wasn't taking any chances with the Jungle Trolls, and half of the troops of the Fire Nation would remain here until they completely cleared out the Jungle Trolls from Azeroth.

"Well then... I must depart to coordinate the forces that would advance toward the further south and fringes of the Stranglethorn Valley."

King Barathen Wrynn stated as he then excused himself from the meeting as he then left the tent together with his officials as they finished the discussion about the final distribution of the captured territories.

Stormwindians were rather eager to pounce on the defenseless territories of the Jungle Trolls because most of their commanders and warriors were dead. What remains now are just random, ragtag groups scattered across the entire southern area of Azeroth, lacking coordination and organization.

So the soldiers of Stormwind were very eager to finish and end the hostilities with the Jungle Trolls that had lasted for centuries already. The hatred between the Jungle Trolls and Stormwindians was something that couldn't be ignored, nor could it be forgotten or forgiven.

The grudge would be resolved only when one side has been completely annihilated.

And then there were the territorial ambitions of Stormwind, which sought to expand its borders across the entire territory of the Jungle Trolls. The population of Stormwind was on the steady rise, and they needed, or rather, they wanted more lands.

Much of the land in the Stranglethorn Vale had rich soil, and there were also a lot of natural resources that Stormwind coveted across the generations.

Fire Islands, Fire Nation, Royal Capital of Wei Jin, Several Weeks Later

Today, there was a very special day in the Fire Nation that would be forever engraved in the annals of history of the Fire Nation as the day the Fire Lord Aenarion Septim would be giving a very important speech from the reconstructed Valflame Palace.

The megastructure off the Valflame Palace, which Fire Nationers, Dwarves, Goblins, and Mages had been working on, was finally completed after several months of intense labor and the pooling of many resources.

With Magic and advanced technology, the building process was remarkably fast, and what would have taken several years to complete was finished in just a few months. Around one week ago, the Armies of the Fire Nation had victoriously returned to the Fire Island and brought with them they were glorious victory and a staggering amount of loot.

When Aenarion returned home to the Fire Nation after the defeat of the Jungle Trolls, he decided that it was time to finish the reforms.

With the huge morale boost in the form of staggering military campaigns and the defeat of a powerful foe, the morale was high, and Aenarion's popularity among the population as the Fire Lord who expanded the territory of the Fire Nation, brought them to riches, and expanded their lands, was the ideal time for it.

Right now, the entire city was bustling with people, as people all over the Fire Nation were gathering in the Royal Capital of Wei-Jin, though it wasn't limited just to the Fire Nationers, as dignitaries from the different nations were also involved.

Stormwind, Ironforge, Gnomeregan, Dalaran, Quel'Thalas, and even Lordaeron sent someone as an answer to the invitation.

Though...

From Stormwind, King Wrynn came himself, together with his family, and Anduin Lothar. From Ironforge, Magni Bronzebeard arrived with his brothers, Muradin and Brann. From Gnomeregan High Tinker and a few Tinkers arrived, or from Dalaran, Archmage Antonidas came himself.

Now, it was Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron that were more intriguing.

Lordaeron sent just one Ambassador, one of their lesser nobles, just as a token of courtesy, as the rest of the human kingdoms were still very wary of the Fire Nation. It was rather understandable because the Fire Nation was even more militaristic than Stormwind; they had a different religion and a free approach to Magic.

Meanwhile, for the Quel'Thalas, the delegation consisted of the Grand Magister Belo'vir Salonar and another two members of the Silvermoon Council who were helping the King manage the country.

Aside from them, there was another surprising delegation, and it was rather important.

Daelin Proudmoore.

Newly ascended Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras at the age of twenty, who has arrived at the Fire Nation, primarily to deepen the ties between the two nations, as the Fire Nation was primarily located on the islands.

Kul Tiras, officially the Admiralty of Kul Tiras, was a maritime human kingdom based on the archipelago of the same name. It is known for its strong seafaring tradition, legendary naval fleet, and, until the First War, its far-reaching merchant ships, which made it the most prosperous nation in the known world.

And Kul Tiras was interested in Orbal Technology for their ships. Aenarion was rather surprised by the addition of Kul Tiras, but it was a very welcome surprise as Kul Tiras was the sole maritime superpower of Azeroth, and Fire Nation could benefit from a close relationship with the island nation.

"The ceremony is prepared. Everyone is waiting in the Throne Room."

The old Fire Nation Royal Palace was being restructured from the moment the Aenarion took the position as the Fire Lord, but only after they made some contact with dwarves and High Elves, the course of reconstruction changed in a different direction.

Azula, who was technically speaking the 1st Queen of the Fire Nation, was responsible for the entire ordeal and was also coordinating the entire ceremony, much to her displeasure, even though she had already delegated most of the tasks to other people.

Aenariion himself wasn't a fan of the ceremonies and other similar occasions because they were boring as fuck, but right now, it was different. Today, he would be proclaiming the end of the Septimian Reformation and the establishment of the Kingdom.

It would be followed by the coronation, where he would coronate himself as the King of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom from the Divine Grace of the Aeldari Gods.

"Are Esdeath and June already in there? And is Esdeath appropriately clothed?"

The Fire Lord and future Phoenix King finished the final adjustments on his robes that were bearing both Phoenix-patterns and Dragon-patterns on them in golden color, which was creating a nice contrast with the pitch black Royal Robes that he was wearing for this special occasion.

"Yes and yes. We looked after it ourselves. She wanted to go in uniform."

Azula stated with a small chuckle, as her sister's wife was forced to wear similar ceremonial clothes like Aenarion was wearing. Esdeath hated wearing anything formal; she preferred to wear her military uniform rather than some sort of dress.

But this time, she didn't have the option to refuse.

After Aenarion's coronation of himself as the King, he would then be coronating Azula, Esdeath, and June as his Queens and co-rulers of the Fire Nation, so they needed to look representative.

Not like some conquering warlord who has just returned to the homeland after exterminating the enemy.

This would be a huge event not only in the Fire Nation, but also in the entirety of the Eastern Kingdoms, as there were many of dignitaries, great nobles, and even Kings or other powerful people attending.

For Aenarion, this would also be the first time that he would meet with King Magni Bronzebeard, Archmage Antonidas, and one of the members of the Convocation of the Silvermoon, Verath Windrunner.

He was also the head of the Windrunner House and father of Alleria, Sylvanas, and Vereesa, and the brother of Lirath. Previous Ranger-General of Quel'Thalas and current Advisor to King Anasterian Sunstrider.

As Aenarion entered the throne room, he took a look at some of the most important people that were attending, especially the Archmage Antonidas, because this was the first time that someone from Dalaran was making contact with the Fire Nation.

Which was rather surprising, because till now the contact between them was technically non-existent, and at the same time, when the contact was established, practically the supreme leader of the Dalaran came here.

Aenarion knew that there must be some other kind of agenda that Dalaran had, if not... they wouldn't be sending their most senior, most powerful, and most important Archmage to attend this ceremony.

The man has a long, flowing, silver-white beard that reaches down past his chest, emphasizing both age and mystique. His facial expression is stern, with sharp, defined features and piercing eyes that shone with azure blue color, which convey intelligence and a no-nonsense demeanor. Prominent, thick white eyebrows arch upward, further enhancing his commanding presence.

He wore a richly adorned robe in deep royal purple. The robe was accented with elegant gold trim and arcane patterns, which showed his rank as Archmage of Kirin Tor. His broad-shouldered mantle and layered collar flare outward in sharp, stylized angles, almost like wings or arcane sigils, adding to his dramatic silhouette.

On his head was a purple hood or circlet integrated with his outfit, adding to the mystical aesthetic. The fabric and decorations are highly ornamental but practical, clearly designed for a master of the arcane rather than a mere scholar.

The elderly Archmage gave Aenarion a nod as the Fire Lord of the Fire Nation stepped forward onto a small platform and stood before the Ruby Throne. As Aenarion stood before the Ruby Throne, the entire place quieted down a bit, as silence took over the Throne Room of the Vlaflame Palace.

"It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Fire Nation in my name as the Fire Lord of this country, friends from afar, new and old."

Aenarion started the speech that he had prepared for this very special occasion.

"The Fire Nation has gone through various times. Some were good, and some were bad... There was still one steady and iron constant. We are a nation of warriors and survivors. We strive for the best, and we fight for a better tomorrow. For the past one hundred years, the Fire Nation that Fire Lord Sozin started in his great vision to unify our disputed lands of Earth... unfortunately, the Fire Nation fell out of the Grand Vision of one of our greatest and grandest Fire Lords."

Aenarion made a dramatic pause as he let his words sink in. Aside from the dignitaries and diplomats from the different nations around the Eastern Kingdoms, most of the people who were attending the ceremony were from the Fire Nation.

Members of the Military, all of its branches... Army, Navy and Air Force. Also, the representatives and high-ranking officers from the special branches that were directly under the authority of the High Command or Ruby Throne, as well as powerful Benders and Chi Masters.

Aside from them, there were also a lot of high-ranking Governmental Officials and the entire speech was being right now broadcasted through the entirety of the Fire Nation. Be it the Homeland of the Fire Islands or the colonies that the Fire Nation conquered from the Jungle Trolls in the Eastern Kingdoms.

Be it the people in the Wei-Jin or those in the Black Morass, everyone could hear the words of the Fire Lord.

"And yet despite all of the sacrifices that we made and all the problems that we overcame, the Fire Nation fell into the times of decline and indulgence. Corrupt nobiltiy abused their power, corruption ran rampant, incompetent military officials who were put in positions only due to their Noble status, and the Fire Lord, who was looking at everything but doing nothing."

Aenarion could imagine that some of his words were certainly rather uncomfortable for the people here...

He understood that nobility was the fundamental basis of the Azerothian society, but for the Fire Nation, Aenarion strived to create a different kind of nobility.

Noblesse Oblige.

An expression that means that nobility extends beyond mere entitlement, requiring people who hold such status to fulfill social responsibilities. While Aenarion allowed the establishment of the new nobility within the Fire Nation after he took over, it was only if they complied with the Dogma of Imperial Excellence.

"Despite this, we prevailed. After the Civil War and the abolition of the old regime and the complete purge of anyone involved, we established a new Fire Nation. A new Fire Nation that is stronger, a new Fire Nation that is built on the principles of power, skills, abilities, excellence, and merit. No longer does the birthright determine the fate! Only your power and wit will determine everything! By the grace and glory of the Aeldari Gods."

The speech of the Fire Lord was rather short, but nevertheless, it was intimidating enough.

"At this moment, here and now, I proclaim the foundation of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and crown myself as the first Phoenix King of the Septim Dynasty. No longer would the people of the Kingdom be divided by the old and obsolete affiliations of Fire, Air, Earth, and Water... we are all citizens of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom, old and new, by the Grace of the Aeldari Gods!"

Aenarion stated as he took the Royal Crown from the hands of the Grand Theogonist of the Imperial Cult, Jing, and placed the Crown on his head.

"With the Asuryan, the Phoenix God, as my witness and the Grace of Aeldari Gods, kneel before the Phoenix King and Herald of the Gods!"

Aenarion stated that the subjects of the Fire Nation, or rather, the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom, did as he commanded and knelt.

"All Hail the King!"

"All Hail the King!"

"All Hail the King!"

Thunderous roars echoed through the Throne Room as Aenarion savored the moment before he looked at his three wives. Now that the coronation for him was over, he was going to coronate his three wives as the Queens of the Fire Nation.

This would be something unprecedented in terms of Azerothian nobiltiy, because Queens were never crowned in this way.

"Now, there is another important announcement that needs to be made."

Aenarion's voice silenced everyone down, he started calling the names of his wives to step forward.

"Azula Septim, step forward."

Everyone's eyes turned to the woman in question, who stepped forward from the Ruby Throne and knelt on one knee.

"With this, I crown you as the 1st Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom, with the Epithet Queen of the Blue Flames."

Grand Theogonist of the Imperial Cult Jing passed Aenarion, now the Phoenix King, a Royal Crown for the Queens. It was much simpler looking compared to Aenarion's own, and it was seeded with Rubies and some yellow gems.

Aenarion took the crown from his hands and placed it on Azula's head.

"With this, you are hereby crowned as the 1st Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as High Justice of the Department of Justice of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as Elder of the Elder Council."

When Azula's coronation was finished, everyone looked in wonder, especially the delegations from Azeroth's native forces, because it was highly unusual for the Queens to be crowned this way and it was even more unusual for them to hold actual and real positions of power.

One could say that Aenarion was breaking the traditions of Azeroth by doing something like this.

"Esdeath Septim, neé Partas of the Partas Tribe, step forward."

After Azula's turn, it was time for Esdeath to be crowned, which proceeded in a very similar fashion to Azula's.

"With this, I crown you as the 2nd Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom, with the Epithet Winter General."

Aenarion then placed a crown on Esdeath's head, which was similar to Azula's, just the gems were of an azure blue color, and from the entire crown, one could feel Frost radiating miles away.

This was something that would totally escape the ordinary people or warriors, but the Mages who were present, especially those like Archmage Antonidas, could see that these crowns that he was using to crown his wives were not just ordinary decorations and jewels.

They were actually powerful magical artifacts, and he wasn't wrong.

Aernarion ordered for the three crowns tob e made for his wives, each one with certain specifics and they were crafted in the Silvermoon City, by the finest Jewelcrafters of the Quel'Thalas.

Jewelcrafters unlock the surprising power in precious stones, creating potent jewelry and trinkets. They craft rings, amulets, and other objects of known mystical power, but they also cut gems to fit into socketed items, such as weapons and pieces of armor, thereby granting those pieces of equipment unique properties.

A talented Jewelcrafter can count on a demand for their services in crafting special items, improving equipment, and shaping rare gems.

Aenarion paid no small price for these crowns as each was a powerful Elemental Aplifier tailor-made for their elements, while also at the same time, these crowns were Pseudo Divine Artifacts blessed by the Aeldari Gods.

"With this, you are hereby crowned as the 2nd Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as Secretary of Homeland Security of the Department of Homeland Security of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as Elder of the Elder Council."

The last one to be crowned was June.

"June Septim, neé Fēng of the Clan Fēng, step forward."

Like Azula and Esdeath, June stepped forward, though this time, there was much less of a reaction, because from the people gathered, only a handful of them were aware of her status and what she was responsible for within the Fire Nation.

Onmitsukidō needed to be secret in the end, and only the higher-ups within the Government of the Fire Nation were aware of her status.

"With this, I crown you as the 3rd Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom, with the Epithet Queen of Shadows."

Aenarion then placed a crown on June's head, which was similar to Azula's and Esdeath's, just the color of the gems was green.

"With this, you are hereby crowned as the 3rd Queen of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Sacred Phoenix Kingdom and named as Elder of the Elder Council."

The reason why Aenarion named June as the Secretary of Foreign Affairs was that, after the end of the war against the trolls in the southern Azeroth, Aenarion had a discussion with Shihōin Yoruichi, who agreed to become the head of the Onmitsukidō.

In the end, the position of Supreme Commander of the Onmitsukidō was only a temporary stop for June, and in fact, Aenarion wanted to have someone skilled in espionage, intelligence gathering, and similar areas as the Secretary of the Foreign Affairs.

Suddenly, as he ended the coronation process, rather majestic music started playing in the background.

Beyond majestic mountains

Across the emerald dale

On march the ivory standard

United we prevail

.

From distant shores of Othard

To lakes of Aldenard

The light of mighty Asuryan

For e'er our guiding star

.

Beneath the lofty heavens

With tired hands we toil

In iron do we clad our hearts

And cloudless are our souls

.

Yet every trial suffered

And every ally mourned

Do bring us solidarity

Our spirits stand untorn

.

Behold the boundless legions

Whose wings embrace the sun

Their fire rains down upon the land

Until their course is run

.

By mercy of Lord Septim—

The pride within us all—

Shall we be granted victory

For glory, Aeldar
