Chapter 14 - chapter 14: the weakest parallel universe, battle with the childhood heroes

Billions of demons entered the portal. Unlike other portals where the other side cannot be seen until arrival, Void could directly see through it.

He saw a terrifying number of crystalline marbles scattered across space.

When he arrived on the other side, Void was left speechless.

This… was space.

Void was in space.

He felt weightless, floating freely among beautiful stars and distant crystalline marbles. A strange new sensation filled him—an excitement he could not describe.

He also discovered something surprising: he could breathe in space.

Looking at the demons floating ahead, Void recalled what he had been told.

They were already here… so where was the Rank 3 demon?

Void didn't have to search long before he heard a loud clapping sound.

This was the vacuum of space—sound should not exist here—but this sound came from two colossal beings colliding. Space itself was rupturing and being torn apart.

"...Oh shit…"

Void instinctively waved his arms as if swimming. There was nothing to push against in space, so he could not accelerate freely… or could he?

Void decided to move.

Then—

Boom.

He accelerated instantly and appeared five light years away.

Void was amazed by the sensation of traveling through space, but his attention quickly shifted back to the ongoing battle.

He could see demons clashing with the natives. The fight was so intense that every shockwave from their collisions caused crystalline marbles to collapse and disintegrate.

Then Void saw something that truly freaked him out.

A massive creature appeared with an enormous head.

At first, Void could not recognize it clearly, seeing only distorted projections, but gradually its form became visible.

The face was featureless, except for its eyes and mouth.

"Motherfucker… isn't that the Anti-Monitor? Wait… am I fucking in the DC world?" Void said in shock.

Not only that, but Void began seeing projections of terrifying gods and entities he did not recognize. However, the ones he did recognize made him feel uneasy.

He saw Lucifer's projection.

The question hit him immediately:

Where were these projections coming from?

The Rank 4 and Rank 5 demons were not even fighting in the same spatial layer.

There were nine layers of space in total, each more terrifying than the last. Void and the Rank 3 demons were only at the first layer, while those monstrous beings fought in the third, fourth, and even sixth layers of space—or dimensions, more accurately.

Void felt his heart pound.

Forget those distant cosmic beings… even Rank 3 demons fighting nearby made him feel like an ant in a battlefield of elephants.

He was genuinely frustrated.

Most Rank 3 demons were focused on fighting the natives—would they even notice them? Or was he about to die in space without anyone caring?

"Go!"

A Rank 3 demon pushed back his opponent and waved his hand.

Void watched as billions of portals appeared out of thin air, each one leading toward the crystalline marbles in the distance.

"Wait… don't tell me those marbles are fucking universes…"

Void said in shock.

He didn't want to go. He had just seen how clashes between Rank 3 beings had already destroyed hundreds of those "marbles."

But he had no choice. He had to take the risk.

Just as Void prepared to enter a portal, a Rank 3 being from the DC side noticed the billions of particles in space and struck out.

BOOM.

Space ruptured.

The first layer of space was torn apart, creating spatial rifts. One of them opened near Void and swallowed him instantly.

Void only experienced it for a second—but it was enough to injure him severely.

Spatial rifts were turbulent distortions of space that normally only appeared in the second layer and above. But due to the overwhelming force of the battle, the first layer itself had been torn open, revealing a darker void with no stars or light.

This was the second layer of space.

Another rift opened near a small planet drifting in space.

Void's consciousness blurred. He felt drowsy, but he tightly gripped his sword and looked at the planet he was falling toward.

"…Earth… we meet again."

Void murmured with a faint, wary smile.

He shifted back into his human form and lost consciousness.

BOOM.

Void crashed directly into a dome.

---

Some Minutes Earlier – DC Universe, Earth (Parallel Universe 10000786)

Superman had just defeated Steppenwolf and helped Cyborg destroy the Mother Box. As they watched the portal slowly close—and glimpsed Darkseid's looming face—something suddenly crashed into the dome.

Superman immediately grabbed Batman and flew out. Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg followed.

The dome collapsed completely, sinking hundreds of meters into the ground.

"What was that? Did anyone see it?" Batman asked.

The Justice League regrouped a few kilometers away.

"Probably a meteor," Flash replied.

"No. I see a human… well, not exactly human, but in human form," Superman said using his X-ray vision.

"What are you saying… an alien?" Wonder Woman asked in confusion.

"Yes. An alien. Like me. And his bone density is similar to mine," Superman confirmed.

"So what do we do with him?" Cyborg asked.

All eyes turned to Batman.

---

One Day Later – Batcave

The Justice League gathered around the unconscious figure lying on a medical bed.

"We should restrain him," Batman said firmly.

"No. We won't. He might be a friendly alien," Superman replied.

"Not all aliens are friendly, Clark. You grew up here. He didn't," Batman countered, pointing at Void.

"What are you going to do? Cage him? Tie him down? His bone density matches mine—and he doesn't even have a known weakness," Superman argued.

"Not that we know of," Batman replied coldly.

"Bruce… his blood is like magma. He might be more dangerous than Doomsday," Superman warned.

"Even more reason to restrain him," Batman said.

"How would you feel waking up on a planet and finding yourself in a cage?" Superman asked.

Batman fell silent.

"Bruce, I'll handle him," Superman said with a calm smile.

Batman sighed but said nothing further.

Then...

A faint groan echoed through the room.

Void slowly began to wake.

His head felt heavy.

"…I feel like I've been sleeping for ages…"

He frowned slightly.

"…And why does it feel like mosquitoes are buzzing in my ears?"

Void opened his eyes and was shocked by what he saw.

Six human-like creatures surrounded him. Void felt like he was being studied, so he quickly stood up.

"Relax," Superman said, but the rest of the Justice League moved back and prepared to fight.

Void already knew he was in the DC multiverse, and these six were likely members of the Justice League.

Now came the trickiest part… what universe exactly was this?

The DC multiverse and Marvel multiverse shared something in common: parallel universes. In some, heroes were extremely powerful; in others, they were weak.

But skipping all that, the first thing Void wanted to find was his sword.

"My sword… where is it?" Void asked as he stood up.

He noticed he was wearing Kryptonian armor. Unlike Superman's, his had no cape.

Seeing him stand up...

Wonder Woman drew her shield and sword.

Batman pulled out a batarang.

Flash was ready to move.

Aquaman held his trident with both hands, pointing it at Void's chest.

Cyborg transformed both arms into guns.

"Wow, wow guys… relax," Superman said, walking toward Void.

"I'm having a hard time carrying that sword. It must weigh millions of tons. How did you carry it? Can you even swing it?" Superman asked with a curious expression.

Void smiled when he heard Superman's words.

Superman struggling with millions of tons… this Superman was weak.

There was no doubt—he was in the 2017 Justice League movie universe.

Void grinned, causing everyone except Superman to step back.

"System, scan me and the Justice League members."

Void was not surprised by his stats. He had expected it.

The fact that he had survived a spatial rift at all was a miracle (or author's plot armor).

Now, Void felt his strength slowly returning. At this rate, he would be back to full power in a week.

Apart from Superman, Wonder Woman was slightly weaker, as was Cyborg. Flash, however, had extremely high speed, though only one stat mattered for him. His strength and stamina were still comparable to a normal human.

"Although you guys are my childhood heroes… you have to understand. You have to die."

Void said this and attacked.

The DC multiverse was dangerous. He didn't know what powerful beings might appear at any moment, so he decided to eliminate them first. Then he would complete the sacrifice and return to the Abyss.

Void targeted the weakest among them..Batman.

But before he could touch him, Flash carried Batman away instantly, and Superman intercepted Void, lifting him into the sky and blasting through the ground, creating a massive crater.

"Friendly alien, right?" Batman said sarcastically.

"Bruce, protect yourself. We'll help Clark," Wonder Woman said as she jumped out.

Aquaman and Cyborg nodded and followed through the opening Superman had created.

"Goodbye, Bruce," Flash said, about to leave.

"Thank you, Flash," Batman replied.

Flash nodded and sped off, carrying the others to join Superman.

"Alfred…"

"Yes, sir."

"Prepare the jet."

"But sir—"

"Do it, Alfred."

"…Right away, sir."

---

Superman carried Void to a less populated area about 1,000 km away.

"Why do you want to kill us?" Superman asked as he landed.

"Because I am a demon," Void said—and punched him.

BOOM.

Superman broke the sound barrier and crashed 10 km away just as the rest of the Justice League arrived.

CRACK.

Flash blurred in and struck Void, but Void only felt a light impact.

"Damn… metal doesn't work," Flash said, looking at his broken fingers.

Void was irritated. Even with his perception, Flash's speed was difficult to track.

Void swung, but Flash had already moved. His punch hit empty air.

Aquaman appeared beside him and struck with his trident. Void raised his arm, but Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth wrapped around it, restraining him.

Void raised his other arm, but the trident pierced him.

He didn't scream—he endured.

He grabbed Aquaman and pulled him closer with the trident still lodged in his arm, preparing to strike...

But a beam hit him.

Cyborg.

Void frowned as he looked up.

Now Wonder Woman and Aquaman were restraining him, while Flash and Cyborg kept attacking.

Slap.

Something struck his face.

"Damn… metal doesn't work," Flash said, holding a broken pipe.

Void was furious.

But before he could show them the difference between them and him, he sensed a powerful presence approaching at six times the speed of sound.

"Oh shit…"

Superman punched him.

BOOM.

Void flew 20 km away at ten times the speed of sound, carving a kilometer-long trench into the ground before stopping.

"System… any suggestions? They might actually kill me here."

(Ding)

{Host suggestion: Fight. Combat will accelerate recovery.}

Void smiled.

He was a demon—and demons loved war more than anything.

"Then let's fight."

Void rushed back toward the Justice League.

He still couldn't fly properly yet, so he jumped instead.

He collided with Superman, their punches generating shockwaves that destroyed everything within a kilometer.

They were both blasted apart—but Void used the Lasso of Truth wrapped around his arm to pull Flash in.

Flash had made one mistake—overconfidence.

Now he was caught.

"First one down," Void said.

He dashed toward Cyborg and struck instantly, snapping his head clean off.

"One down."

He removed the trident from his arm and threw it at Aquaman.

Wonder Woman threw her shield to intercept—but it was too late.

The trident pierced Aquaman's stomach.

Aquaman groaned.

Void landed on him immediately—

BOOM.

Turning him into a crushed mass.

Superman came back and punched Void, lifting him off the ground and into the sky.

Void couldn't fly, and he was at a disadvantage. Superman kept punching him, sending Void higher and higher, until Void finally had enough.

He grabbed Superman's arm, used his leg to push off him, and sent Superman flying upward while Void fell back down.

Void looked at where he was headed and was shocked.

This was Superman's house.

But Void didn't change direction and crashed straight into it.

Clark shouted and flew there immediately.

He pulled both of his parents out, but could only find half of his father's body. His mother had been turned into meat paste.

Void looked at Superman breaking down in tears and sneered.

He was also an orphan—his parents were already dead. So creating another orphan didn't matter to him anymore.

Void grinned and ran toward Wonder Woman and Flash.

"Two down… time to take care of you guys," Void said.

He jumped up and reached about 1,000 km into the air before falling rapidly.

Void looked at the red blur heading toward his landing point and smiled.

Flash had already been released by Wonder Woman during Void's distraction.

Void was about to land directly on Flash's head and kill him—but Flash suddenly threw something at him.

It was Wonder Woman.

She stabbed her sword directly toward Void.

Void couldn't dodge in time and decided to sacrifice one of his hands.

"Fuck…" Void grimaced in pain as he fell rapidly.

BOOM.

Void landed, creating a 500-meter-deep pit.

(Ding)

Void broke through directly to a High-Level Rank 0 existence and smiled.

Flash was already rushing at him again—but now Void could match his speed.

Void dodged Flash's attack and grabbed his head, lifting him up.

"I finally caught the annoying rabbit," Void said with a grin.

Wonder Woman was already behind Void, stabbing her sword toward him, but Void had already seen her with his perception.

He turned around and forced her blade straight into Flash instead.

"He…lp… me…" Flash said as he coughed blood.

Void threw Flash away like a ragdoll and didn't give Wonder Woman time to react. He punched out immediately.

Wonder Woman's head turned into meat paste.

"Finally… I killed them. Four down," Void said with a smile.

But his expression quickly turned into a frown when he saw a golden soul approaching.

Superman was coming.

And now, Void could sense it—Superman had already reached High-Level Rank 0.

"Hey… why is Superman this powerful?" Void asked in confusion.

(Ding)

Host, do you know why you haven't been suppressed since entering this universe?

"Because I'm too weak?" Void replied.

(No, Host. It is because this universe is helping its natives fight against your race. The only thing it can do right now is unlock Superman's potential early. He will keep getting stronger as his rage builds.)

"…So he's basically an unkillable cockroach," Void said, frowning.

"Will he break through to Rank 1?" Void asked, slightly uneasy.

(No. It is too early. The highest he can reach is Peak Rank 0 for now.)

"So it's either I survive until his stamina runs out… or I fight him to the death," Void said with a slight smile.

(Yes.)

"Interesting," Void said.

"You…"

A loud voice echoed through the battlefield.

Superman had arrived.

His eyes were glowing red from a distance.

"I will make you pay!!!"

"Wait… isn't that what Goku said to Jiren in the Tournament of Power?" Void muttered in shock.

Before he could react...

BOOM.

He was punched away.

A massive shockwave erupted, obliterating everything within a 100 km radius. Trees, roads, animals—everything was erased. Even the ground itself was scraped clean up to 50 meters deep, and a 1,000 km-wide earthquake spread across the region.
