Void lifted his sword and smashed it directly at Darkseid. Darkseid looked at the sword descending toward his head and raised a finger.
BOOM…
The Earth directly exploded.
Fragments and debris of Earth floated in outer space, but the two beings remained at the center of the explosion, completely unharmed.
BOOM… BOOM…
Every time they collided, anything within a light-year radius was reduced to ruin. The Moon was destroyed in their clash. Then Venus. Then Mars. Just the collision of these two beings caused the destruction of the entire solar system.
Void had never fought with everything he had like this before.
He pushed his demon body to its absolute limit, swinging his sword with maximum power, but Darkseid did nothing more than block with a finger.
Da… kom… da kom… bakom…
Void's heart beat violently.
"Fuck… am I going to die?" he thought, each swing showing him the overwhelming gap between them.
"System, is there anything I can do?" Void asked in despair.

"Can't I break through levels? Can't I be like those protagonists… or even villains?" Void asked in his mind, his expression still fierce.

"Hey, Superman was able to… why can't I?" Void almost begged internally.
(It is more like a hidden power.)
"I don't have it?" Void asked.
(You have none.)
"I am a Primordial Demon… meant to be one of the first demons born from the Abyss… am I going to die?" Void asked, his attacks growing more violent, but Darkseid simply watched in amusement.
(Host, billions of demons die every second. Are you anything special?)
"…I… but I… I have the blessing… right? I am the Son of the Abyss," Void said, his voice suddenly filled with hope.
(Host, I cannot even count the number of demons with blessings greater than yours.)
"Fuck…" Void cursed, his attacks becoming even more chaotic.
"Can't the Abyss intervene? Split a fragment of its consciousness and save me… please, I don't want to die!" Void shouted in his mind.
(Host, it cannot—or rather, it will not. What are you? You are just a Rank 1 demon. There are Rank 2, 3, 4, and 5 demons. Why should the Abyss save you? Tell me—would you save a growing tiger to protect you from a hungry hyena, or would you save a fully grown Siberian tiger to protect you instead?)
Void went silent, but his attacks continued.
After a moment, he spoke again.
"System… what are you saying?" Void asked in a stern voice.
(I am stating your worth. You are basically useless.)
"I am the Son of the Abyss… she is my mother, isn't she?" Void asked.
(She… don't be delusional. The Abyss can create beings like you—or even better than you. Do not use your former life's values or beliefs. WAKE UP TO REALITY.)
"I… I… I AM GOING TO DIE! FUCK, I AM GOING TO DIE! AAAAAH! BEING WEAK IS A SIN! AFTER A YEAR… AM I STILL THIS WEAK?! AM I STILL AN ANT?! GODDAMN IT, I CAN DESTROY A PLANET WITH A SWING OF MY SWORD… I CAN EVEN DO IT WITH MY FIST… BUT WHY?! WHY AM I STILL SO WEAK?! A Primordial Demon… what a joke…" Void's mentality began to collapse.
Demons only feel a few emotions, and fear is one of them. Void's demon instincts had slowly merged with his human self, and the fear of death—something all humans feel at the end—overwhelmed him completely.
Void slowly stopped fighting and looked at Darkseid in front of him.
"Oh? Why did you stop? Have you accepted your fate? Where is the arrogance you showed earlier?" Darkseid laughed as he slowly walked toward him.
Void looked down at his body. The overwhelming energy inside him—the strength every human desires—felt like nothing more than a speck of dust in the universe… not even worth mentioning in the multiverse or beyond.
Darkseid stopped in front of Void and grabbed his neck.
"You need to understand your place. You are nothing but a bug I can crush with a finger," Darkseid smiled, lifting a finger.
"Well, I can see the arrogance is gone. Fear… fear of death has consumed you, lowly bug. Primordial Demon… what is that? A demon? If anything, I should be the demon in this universe. Tell me… will someone save you?" Darkseid asked with interest.
This time, Void replied.
"You are right… no one will…" Void said, no longer struggling.
"But I am not a normal demon…"
"Oh? What are you?" Darkseid asked with a smile.
"I am Void… Void… Void…" he repeated.
"Interesting… are you trying to find your identity? Is your mentality that weak? I wonder how you became this strong," Darkseid said with a grin.
"What I like most is letting my enemies use every means necessary to try and kill me, only to watch every single attempt fail. The dread... the despair I see in their eyes makes me feel so alive... SO GOOD," Darkseid chuckled.
"Do you have anything else to say before you are tortured to death?" Darkseid asked.
Void remained silent.
"A secret..." Darkseid whispered, leaning close to Void's ear.
"I am more of a demon than you."
Hearing this, Void's eyes shrank to needle points before returning to normal.
Darkseid casually ripped off one of Void's arms.
"AAAAAH!"
Void screamed in pain, but the arm grew back almost immediately.
"Oh... how interesting. This will make things much more fun," Darkseid said with a smile.
"AAAAAH... ARRGH... FU...CK..."
Void screamed in agony. His voice gradually changed after enduring repeated torture—limbs torn apart, organs ripped out, bones shattered over and over again.
Slowly, Void's screams became quieter and quieter until finally...
He snapped.
"Hahaha... hahaha... HAHAHAHA!"
Void started laughing hysterically.
Darkseid paused, amused.
"A broken toy," Darkseid said with disgust.
"Well, I got to stretch a little because of you. For that, I will grant you a quick death."
Darkseid smiled as the Omega Beams were released.
Everything became slow in Void's eyes.
"System... do you know what people always say about death?" Void asked in his mind.
(No.)
"People show their truest selves when they are about to die. And I have seen mine."
"I am still a coward."
"I was a coward on Earth, and here, with all this power, even as a demon... I am still a coward."
"My only regret is..."
Void paused.
(What?)
"Not seeing my whole life again."
"I want to see my mom and dad's faces one more time."
"Alas... I am not the main character or the antagonist."
"I am merely a demon."
Void sneered at himself.
(Yes, you are.)

A portal suddenly opened, and Void was sucked inside.
Seeing his Omega Beams miss, Darkseid frowned.
He appeared before the portal and was about to reach into it when he suddenly froze.
For the first time in a long while, he felt fear.
His heartbeat quickened.
He instinctively knew that if he put his hand through that portal, he would be completely obliterated.
Not even ashes would remain.
Darkseid instantly retreated fifty light-years away.
The portal slowly closed, and the universe returned to silence.

Third Abyss
Void slowly emerged from the portal and stared at the familiar Abyss.
"I am not dead... ah, or am I in hell?" Void asked in disappointment.
(No, Host. And you are a demon. Why would you go to hell, a low-end plane? You are in the Abyss, and you are not dead.)
"Oh... that's nice."
Void smiled.
Slowly, he fell from the sky and crashed into the ground.
Although the landing was rough, he wasn't injured. He was still a Quasi-Low-Level Rank 1 Demon.
"Ah... what a life..." Void muttered with a smile.
Soon, he witnessed something that shocked him.
Tens.
Thousands.
Millions.
Billions.
Trillions of portals opened.
Demons began falling from the sky like raindrops beneath a dark storm cloud.
All of them were in conditions similar to his own.
Void laughed heartily.
"Ah... we lost. Pretty badly."
Even Rank 2 Demons had wounds that didn't seem capable of healing.
It took an entire hour before the rain of demons finally stopped and all the portals closed.
"Ish... crazy," Void muttered.
Just as he was about to close his eyes, he felt a tremor.
"What now?" Void asked in shock.
Then he saw a scene that completely blew his mind.
A gigantic hand was pressing down on the entire Abyss.
The hand was so large that Void couldn't even see where it ended.
It reminded him of Buddha suppressing Sun Wukong.
But compared to this palm, an entire universe would seem like a grain of sand.
Void couldn't move.
Strangely, after the initial shock, he felt calm.
He didn't even flinch.
"If the sky falls, strong men will be there to hold it up," Void said with a smile.
Then it happened.
A giant hand stretched out from the Abyss itself.
The two palms collided.
BOOM!
A deafening sound echoed.
Yet strangely, there was no shockwave.
Nothing.
Seeing this, Void came to a terrifying conclusion.
They weren't fighting within this layer of reality.
What he was seeing were merely projections.
The true battle was occurring in a deeper layer of space.
Another dimension.
Higher-dimensional beings.
Their attacks didn't even belong to this reality.
How could ordinary laws possibly affect them?
"Hmph."
A loud snort echoed through existence.
The giant palm disappeared.
The hand from the Abyss remained for a few moments, ensuring no further attacks would come before finally retreating.
Void watched everything with a smile.
He knew the demons were simultaneously fighting ten super multiverses.
He himself had ended up in the DC Universe.
So now came the big question.
What were the other nine multiverses?
Void smiled faintly and slowly closed his eyes.
He was still weak.
But his mentality had changed.
From now on, he would pursue strength and destruction.
Even his element would become synonymous with destruction itself.
But for now...
A little Rank 1 Demon would go to sleep.
