Ka ka ka
The moment Charlie's form surged upward, purple energy coursed through his nanotech suit, unleashing a hundred and twenty tons of force in an instant.
Slaughter Points 100, one hundred percent critical hit!
Under the critical strike, two hundred and forty tons of raw physical power, amplified by the magical energy surging from the Spider Totem.
Using techniques honed by Thanos over years of study, Charlie's strength attribute completely overpowered the newly born Hulk, who hadn't yet learned how to fight.
Boom!!
In an instant, a dazzling burst of magical light erupted in the park, like a missile detonating on the spot, enveloping the entire park in brilliant, blinding radiance.
Roar!
Boom!!
As the ground quaked violently, a beastly roar echoed through the surrounding streets.
Soon, a ferocious shockwave swept through the nearby roads, like the prelude to an approaching storm.
Carter, arriving nearby with her shield in hand, leapt from the car. She looked up, seeing a disheveled figure rocketing skyward from the park shrouded in magical light.
She frowned. "This is Doctor Banner turned into a monster?"
"Yes, his power is terrifying," Harry said, landing beside Carter.
Gazing at the Hulk, blasted into the sky by overwhelming force, he opened his mouth in awe.
"He's flying."
"Yes, flying very high."
At that moment, onlookers stared in shock as a streak of radiant light shot into the sky, catching up to the Hulk in just two seconds.
High above, Charlie's figure zipped past the Hulk, clearly seeing the astonishment and confusion in the green giant's eyes.
No wings, so how is he flying? Like this!
Shwoo~
Webbing locked onto the air itself, Charlie launched from a web-slingshot, hurtling like a magical missile and crashing into the Hulk's chest with a thunderous impact.
"Your friendly neighborhood airline!"
Roar~~
The beast roared in midair, brilliant light enveloping both figures, carrying them in a spiraling descent toward an abandoned building by the coast.
"Your friendly neighborhood meteor fist!"
Along the way, Charlie's fists rained down on the Hulk's head like a storm, his voice chanting relentlessly.
"Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up."
The dazed Hulk, in that moment, swore he saw his great-grandmother.
"No!!"
The Hulk roared in fury, but Charlie unleashed another barrage of chaotic punches.
Before the Hulk could counter, their figures, wrapped in radiant light, crashed into the abandoned building.
Rumble rumble~~
Roar!
"Wake up, wake up, wake up."
Their forms smashed through layer after layer of reinforced concrete, Charlie still pinning the Hulk's chest, his relentless fists hammering down. Combined with the Hulk absorbing the full impact of their fall, he had no time to fuel his rage.
Soon, under everyone's gaze, the entire building collapsed, kicking up a sky of dust and debris.
[You, as the friendly neighborhood hero, stopped the Hulk from destroying the city. Restart count +10.]
The moment the system chimed, Charlie weaved through the falling concrete and steel, vanishing from the battlefield in an instant.
The scene left everyone stunned.
At that moment, a fiery streak roared across the sky.
Tony, clad in his Mark Armor, arrived at the scene. Staring at the rubble below, he fell silent for a long time.
Because that abandoned building? He'd just bought it.
"Sir, should we send a lawyer letter to Spider-Man?" Jarvis asked.
Tony's mouth twitched. "Spider-Man's a broke nobody."
"My apologies, I couldn't find any information on that."
"Send a message to S.H.I.E.L.D. They're footing the bill for this building."
"Understood."
In the command room, Nick Fury stared at the collapsed building, his single eye heavy with concern.
Spider-Man was getting stronger. If this guy died a few more times, even his allies might not be able to handle him.
"Nick, the gamma radiation frequency at the scene has disappeared," Natasha's voice reported from the field.
Nick Fury let out a relieved breath. "Good. Looks like Spider-Man took care of that thing."
"Commander, Tony sent a compensation list. That building was his," Coulson said.
Hearing this, Nick Fury rubbed his temples.
"Motherfucker, Spider-Man did this. What's it got to do with us?"
"Commander, might I remind you, Spider-Man's a broke nobody," Coulson added.
Nick Fury: "."
He froze, then sighed.
"Fine, I'll request funds from upstairs, but no guarantees it'll go through."
"I understand, Commander. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s broke too."
Coulson, arriving at the scene, felt utterly exhausted.
Spider-Man's antics were making S.H.I.E.L.D.'s already strained budget even worse.
But at least the rampaging Doctor Banner was dealt with, avoiding even graver consequences.
Otherwise, S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't just go bankrupt—their agents would face midlife unemployment.
He still had a mortgage to pay off.
Soon, a swarm of rescue workers arrived to excavate the ruins.
Reporters rushed to cover the event.
Among the nearby crowd, Charlie, now in a red-and-blue jacket, blended in as a bystander.
"Whoa, Spider-Man's awesome! You're my idol, I love you!" he shouted, raising his hand.
The person next to him: "."
"Kid, you're burning my eyes with that noise," a dreadlocked delinquent growled.
Charlie grinned. "Sorry, let me fix your eyes."
He raised two fingers.
"Poke!"
"Oh, shit, you little punk! Wait till I get you—don't run!"
The delinquent chased Charlie through three alleys, only to trip over Carter's outstretched foot and crash headfirst into a trash can.
"Oh, no! Fuck, who did this?!"
The delinquent cursed loudly.
On a nearby rooftop, Charlie lounged on a web hammock, while Carter stood beside him, rolling her eyes.
"I heard Sitwell was a Hydra mole. You found out," she said.
Charlie, hands behind his head, grinned. "Yup. The moment I opened my eyes, he chucked a gene disruptor at me."
Carter's eyes widened. "You're okay?"
Charlie nodded. "Of course. The invincible Spider-Man doesn't die anymore."
Carter rolled her eyes. "You say that every time."
Charlie smirked, then asked, "How about you? No one's figured out your secret, right?"
Carter sat on the rooftop's low wall. "I was prepared for something like this.
My family took my body away beforehand, claiming I was injured.
Hardly anyone knows I came back."
Charlie pouted. "Next time, tell them to grab my body too."
"Didn't you just say you won't die anymore?"
"Fair point."
Charlie asked, "What about Felicia?"
"She's with me."
"So the Carter family just left me to S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"Yes, it was a necessary compromise. Your DNA was masked by the gene disruptor, so no one knows your identity. I wasn't so lucky."
Charlie nodded. "That makes sense."
With that, he stood and stretched lazily.
"Been gone so long, I should probably head home."
"No rush. I've already got it covered."
Charlie thought for a moment. "I went on a trip?" He glanced at Carter.
Carter smiled. "What, you need superpowers for that too?"
Charlie: "."
"I've 'traveled' a lot already. They'll think I'm stealing family cash."
"Nah, I checked. They don't have much money."
Charlie's face darkened. "Keep that quiet."
"Understood."
