Victor looked at Valery with a smile as he continued trying to catch something, but it was simply impossible to do in such a short time, not to mention the change in temperature created by the large chunk of ice that served as a boat for everyone.
"Victor, it's time to eat. You'd better start cooking before your guests start thinking about eating you instead," Valery said with a smile. Her tone of voice seemed to suggest that what she was saying was just a joke, but her face was so serious that it didn't seem like a joke at all.
Victor looked at her with a frozen smile on his face. He couldn't laugh; he didn't know if it was a joke or not.
"It's a joke," Valery said with a slight nervous laugh.
"Haha," a soft laugh escaped Victor's mouth as he got up. "I'll have to work on Valery's jokes," Victor thought as he walked away.
