After confirming that Andrew was indeed trustworthy, Luca focused entirely on listening to the conversation between Andrew and the unexpected military officer who had come to visit.
It didn't take him long to gather quite a bit of useful information.
The officer's name was Lucas. He served under the Crimson King and also happened to be a friend of Andrew's.
Lucas had come to Riverbank City for one purpose—to recruit soldiers.
However, it was clear that Andrew had no intention of helping his friend with this matter.
"Riverbank City doesn't have much of a population to begin with," Andrew said stiffly. "And on top of that, the people here have no military training whatsoever. I don't think you should be trying to recruit soldiers here."
Lucas didn't argue. Instead, he replied calmly,
"I have to recruit here. Because it's simply impossible to recruit soldiers anywhere else."
Both Andrew and Luca were taken aback by this statement.
