Chapter 367 - Chapter 367: Magical Doll– Red Cap

Professor Abigail elaborated on her idea in detail.

"I don't want to just use a model or refer to a textbook to teach this. Learning how to deal with dangerous magical creatures is important. If students learn carelessly, I worry they won't be able to handle real dangers in the future."

"Actually, if it's just one or two, I can still get my hands on them. But Defense Against the Dark Arts shouldn't be taught in a safe classroom, with students watching and challenging dark creatures that have already been scared out of their wits."

"You need to learn how to handle opponents that launch sudden attacks from the shadows, the soil, or the tree branches. They might even crawl out of your wardrobe just as you're about to sleep!"

"In nature, very few battles happen with perfect preparation. Danger always strikes when people think they are safe."

"But if I really do it this way, I fear that by the end of the class, only half my students will be left, and McGonagall will go mad..."

Professor Abigail's mouth twitched. It was clear that what she feared was not the "loss of half the students" but rather Professor McGonagall's wrath.

"So, I want to commission you to create a batch of magical Dolls—ones that resemble these creatures, possess their aggression and cunning nature, but without such lethal power..."

"—Magical Dolls?" Wade lowered his head in thought.

"Yes! And for each Dolls, I can offer you this much!"

Professor Abigail extended five fingers, looking pained as she spoke.

"This is the highest amount I could apply for from the school, and I even added some of my own money..."

Wade looked at her expression and suddenly smiled.

"The money doesn't matter much—you can just pay the cost price. Making these dolls is a learning experience for me as well."

Professor Abigail was delighted. "So, you agree?"

"Of course—what do you need?"

"First, Red Caps, Kappa and Erlking. I have detailed information here..."

...

Wade returned to his dormitory with a stack of papers and found Phil still stationed in front of the Streaming Mirror.

"Mr. Grey has finished school for the day."

Seeing Wade, Phil immediately stood up and saluted.

"Take a seat, Phil." Wade sat cross-legged on the fluffy carpet and glanced at the Streaming Mirror. "Eva still hasn't delivered the letter?"

"No, she remembers your instructions well. The key is observation."

Phil said: "Miss Eva arrived at 7:30 in the morning, but the target was already at work. She was helping prepare ingredients at a Muggle restaurant. After lunch, she switched to another shop to help with cleaning. Now, she's on her third job."

In the mirror, the werewolf girl had a box hanging from her chest as she sold various trinkets and small flags outside a football stadium.

Phil continued, "The target is working very hard, and no suspicious individuals have approached her."

Wade responded with a simple "Mm," then turned around and retrieved a variety of alchemical materials from the wardrobe space.

With a tap of his wand, the substances floated and combined—some stretching, some morphing, others twisting into shape.

Permanent Transfiguration is always particularly useful for creating objects.

Moments later, a small statue appeared in the center of the room.

It was a Red Cap—a creature that resembled a goblin, with a long white beard, a hooked, pointed nose, and a pair of fierce red eyes. Atop its head sat a crimson hat, as if dyed with fresh blood. Its hands were sharp like eagle talons, and its feet were clad in iron boots.

Phil, who had been watching the Streaming Mirror, occasionally glanced over, curious about the incredibly lifelike figure.

But at this moment, the Red Cap Doll remained motionless and silent—it was just a shell. Wade still needed to shape its traits.

It had to love hiding in the darkness and waiting for the right moment to strike from behind with a heavy wooden club.

It needed to be fast, with its footsteps producing a thudding sound as it ran—something that alert individuals would quickly notice. Thus, before launching an ambush, it had to remain completely silent.

It would attack humans' necks or eyes with its sharp claws and, when attacked itself, would emit a high-pitched, piercing screech to summon its kind.

Finally, it had to have weaknesses—spells or charms would frighten it and send it fleeing.

One by one, magical spells rained down upon the Red Cap doll, as if infusing it with a soul. A faint glow emanated from its boots, hat, and the wooden club in its hands, while layers upon layers of magical circles surrounded its body.

Phil stared intensely at the Streaming Mirror and no longer dared to turn his head.

He feared that if he looked back, he would be completely captivated by the scene behind him—and might even forget to continue his task.

Frowning, Phil focused on Claire in the mirror.

The girl had taken a long time, but she had finally sold most of the items in her box. She folded it up, stuffed it into her backpack, secured her money pouch, drank some water from a street faucet, and then used her earnings to buy a large bag of bread from a store before boarding a late bus home.

Her destination was a slum near a church—a place filled with crumbling buildings exuding the stench of decay. Not a single window was intact, the ground was littered with garbage, and the walls were covered in graffiti and vulgar obscenities.

Two men smoking by the street noticed Claire and immediately approached her with ill intentions. However, the moment they got a clear look at her face, they panicked and quickly pretended not to see her before hurrying away.

Claire paid them no mind. With her backpack slung over her shoulders, she rushed into a building.

The elevator had long since turned into a trash heap, so she climbed the narrow staircase instead.

Eva couldn't follow her inside. It hovered outside for a while before finally spotting Claire again and flying over to perch by a window.

Inside a relatively intact room, a filthy, bearded man lay on a makeshift bed. His body was wrapped in numerous bandages, with faint traces of blood seeping through.

"I'm back, Fatos!" Claire ran in and asked, "How's your wound? Does it still hurt?"

"It's alright. The potion you brought back yesterday worked well."

The man on the bed struggled to sit up and asked, "Did everything go smoothly today? Any trouble?"

"No, everything was fine. I made quite a bit of money."

As she spoke, Claire spread out a relatively clean cloth and placed the bread she had bought on top of it. The two of them immediately began devouring their meal like starving beasts.

Their eating was anything but graceful—each fist-sized piece of bread vanished from their hands in mere seconds.

Licking the crumbs from her fingers, Claire said, "I was thinking—"

"No." Fatos cut her off immediately.

"I just—"

"You're not allowed to go!"

"But—"

"If Will is back in Diagon Alley and hasn't come looking for us, then that's his answer. You don't need to go looking for him. And if he hasn't returned, then you have even less reason to—"

His words suddenly stopped.

Fatos turned his head sharply, and his fierce gaze seemed to pierce through the Streaming Mirror and locked eyes with Phil!
