Chapter 4 | The auction.
Many people gathered and was seated on a dimly lit hall. Everyone was in thier individual seats . Waiting for the host to start the event.
Everyone present in the auction was wearing a mask , some even wore cloak to cover thier whole body. This was of course to keep thier identity hidden .
The auction began as lucio and jake was on the edge of thier seats.
" So what do you plan to get ? " Jake asked curiously.
" Something that can help me in this handicapped state. " He replied pointing at his missing arm and eye.
The two settled down on thier seats as they focused on the biddings.
After a long boring speech the first item finally came to view.
It was a wings of a dragon , it seemed to be fresh . This is mostly used in armor making or alchemy. It was a sight to be hold since a single dragon is rare and a powerful being that can easily destroy cities.
But this item was no use to them.
Items was presented but nothing seemed to interest lucio. Untill one specific item was presented.
It was shaped like a prosthetic arm. It glew in blue. It looked like nothing he had ever seen.
" Woah that looks useful " jake commented.
Soon the host explained the item.
Ladies and gentlemen i present to you " Frost gear " a prosthetic arm made of the body of the once Calamity class " Frost Gargantuan Centipede '. It serves you the same abilities as the gargantuan , it can extend to about 20 meters. Its very durable to physical and magical attacks. It can also blast ice from its palms.
Its an artifact classified as Epic. To those who are wondering this item is brought to us by the great bandit king. The host lets out a glass of wine to the bandit king who was sitting in the vip area People applaud him.

As the people started to bid , lucio kept quite to himself.
The frost gargantuan centipede appeared along with its twin the flame gargantuan centipede about a 100 years ago bringing havoc to the continent of gea.
Fortunetly both was slain by the Sword master " Baskerville " As the people of the continent held him as a hero .
The bodies of the centipedes was believe to have been forge into weapons and hidden away by the empire.
Indeed " frost gear " was a useful item specially when he lost an arm, but his affinity was of the flame it will be difficult for him to wield it since they dont match.
However...
Lucio glanced up to the bandit king, he was there obvliviously enjoying the wine at his hands.
" If they had a " Frost gear " then for sure they should have the flames centipedes " Flame Gear ' .
Lucio looked at jake .
" What were not gonna get that arm for you ? " Jake asked
" No. We cant afford it. And it will be difficult for me to use it " Lucio explained .
Jakes head tilted what did he mean by difficult for him to use?. To a non magic person having a magic item would be a game changer.
" What do you mean ? " Jake asked.

lucio ignited a mini fire ball in his palm.
" I forgot to tell you. I can use magic " lucio explained with a little bit of smugness in his voice as he shows off , Of course he is telling jake as he trust him.
Jakes eyes widened at the revelation his eyes could not believe it he is actually using magic " but how ? "
He suspiciously asked. Since they were kids lucio was labelled magic less and him having magic all of the sudden raised many questuons.
But also answered some, he nows get what lucio meant of him being not able to wield the frost gear since a completely different affinity from his.
" Ill tell you later. For now lets wrap up this auction and buy something " lucio explained.
The auction proceeded as the Frost Gear sold for 11 million. Soon they brought out less interesting artifacts.
Lucio had his eyes on three items.
" The eye of sinder " it was a prosthetic eye. Once used it allows the user to be able to see again. But with a little twist as the eye of sinder . Allows the bearer to see mana potential and Mana aura of the user.
" Ancient Amulet " its orgins are unknown but its abilities
Are casting a barrier sheild to the user at will. The barrier is strong enough to withstand powerful spells and attacks.
" Grimore book of flames " A translated book. Of ways how to improve your fire manipulation. Written by the late great mage merlin.
Jake on the other hand has his eyes set for a long bow made from a tree known as Husan. Tho not a magic item the bow itself was well made and beautiful.
Sigh* with only 4 million on his pockets.
Lucio could not hope to even outbid and over pay the others. All he could do was patiently wait and pray the items go unbidded.
Soon the book of flames was sold as well as the amulet .
And eventually the eyes of sinder was also bought.

" just my goddman luck " lucio cursed.
Jake on the other hand had manage to bought to hasan bow for about 49k of his own money.
As the auction of the item ended the auction of the slaves began . Featuring unique beast , Rare animals and even humans and demi humans.
Lucio and jake stood up seemingly not interested in buying anything that is not an artifact.
" Hehe, not gonna buy any slaves bro ? " Jake teased.
" oh please its just gonna be another mouth to feed. " Lucio responded.
Not to mention its illegal.
Jakes grin grew wider. " I mean with your current state im sure you need someone to help you jer- " lucio ' s first launched at his head as jake dodges swiftly still grinning ear to ear.
" Hahaha even if you had two arms you still wont catch me " jake boasted further irritating lucio.
As jake paid for his new bow , they soon found
themself ' s leaving the auction.
" Too bad you dind buy anything " jake said.
" Its fine the trip was worth it. " Lucio responded.
Jakes eyes lit up. Wondering how was it worth it ?
" Hehe your plotting something arent you ? " Jake asked.
Seemingly excited. Ever since they were kids lucio has always the one to be good at scheming.
" First lets get going to the shoreline. "
Meanwhile , the two cornered the last surviving member of iron clad in a dark alley. As promised they spared his life.
After resting in a nearby village the two continued thier journey to the next city. After what seemed like an enternity the two could finally see the city walls in the distance.
" Were finally reached shoreline city . " Jake commented.
It was his first time here . He had to admit. Compared to little tommy city. This was way bigger and grander. Specially the walls and arthetectures.
But he was not surprised after all the country supplies of
Ocean materials and beverage are from here making allowing the city to maintain a big income for improvements.
