Hello~u all, Dretnoth here. [Making a friendly "Hi!" gesture.] Welcome, or welcome back, depending if this was your first book/story from me, or you are my regular reader. (Its strange using own words of Kamachi Kazuma, a pen name of Certain Magical Index,Railgun,... author.)
"Its done." Sometimes, one of the most valued features that any project can have: (Is done!). For all readers that joined me on this journey: Thank you or being part of my crew. Also sorry for typos, (they are sneaky ones).
At firs I shall note that even if the story about the Electric Princess has ended, I still have about 16k of notes, snippets, and side stories; that siting aside and can be used for after scenes episodes or such. (That's like a half of stand-alone book, according some rules.) Some are actually already formed as episodes, or they parts, but don't get sneak up onto main story. Like the scene with restaurant that got changed a lot from original concept to point where I write something else. Some are just PointOfView of other characters, but I push a single POV of protagonist. Even I was forced to bend or break that rule few times. (For the sake of story telling of course.) So there will be an Extra chapter(s) of various length. So for those, who are sad because the main dish is done, there will be a small servings of a desserts. But because I, publishing on warriors web-sites, that use various rules; I must decide which of them will be put behind this as extra chapters and which of them put elsewhere. Like: "Who did Mikoto shoot down with a snowball, during the pool exhibition?"
.
For those who know or know not, this specific project is a recreation/remade of my previous project, with the same name but in differed language from 2018-2022. Now, this project was (according publishing dates) going from Aug 2024 to Now 2025. I had a working window (or expectation) that I will be done by end of yer 2024… Well, no~oooo; the main story having an 11 months delay… (Tell about incorrect assessment of the time requirement of the project.)
Well if we take it, its not enough to put a lo~ooo~ng text into google file translator and expect a miracle. Typos, unusual wording or expression don't work well. And sometimes the entire paragraph were change into something that don't fit into a story at all. Sometimes I sped 2/3 of time working on chapter, trying to figure (What the heck I was trying to say by this?) looking onto original file, original text.
No!; AI (mechanic chained patterns learning module [we muss specify]) is not something a skilled author shall ever touch. What come out is not your story. But I learned that after trying working with it on few other project, and closed door to it. So I don't actually saying you should, I saying it don't work for me. Neither as writer, neither as programmer.
The most trouble-making thing in localization (Translating) are puns and word play, and I have a lot of them in my projects. Most of them having no equivalent between languages, and I spend a lot of time, to make them fit, sometime remaking not just a paragraph, but a wide span of episode because of a line that dint make a sense. When I look back, this story changed a little bit from the previous work, mostly based on the additional context I read and spend more time to think about it.
I shall mentioned that I like a book format style and the style I used here are not just a result of refining my writing style, but a direct answer to harsh web formatting and mobile first approach. (I am PC user! A (game mechanic) programmer. I also learned the secrets of web code.) Glad that some websites had invested in protecting the (natural readable) formatting. (Thumbs up.) But try to imagine that you work is processed into HTTP format, where system mercilessly delete; all non-necessary symbols like white symbols (empty line/double enter, double space) and what ever that is not in basic ASCII table for world wide compatibility. All that text is squashed into news-paper paragraphs format. (It is necessary for differences in screen sizes.)
Other thing is that when you have more that two characters (like character A, character B, plus narrator) it going to be exponential difficult to jungle between them and not confusing the reader of: (Who is who? Who speaking? Who doing that?). Now imagine writing a live conversion across six character, during an action scene with cars and explosions left to right. Also I must assume that reader don't know a first thing, (absolutely don't know anything), so I must lead it through the story, step by step. But I cannot allow myself to drag the story by explaining everything.
Either way, creative writing takes an outrageous amount of time and mental effort. By certain words: "Any creative art, is quite embarrassing activity." Sometimes (many times) this project has been put on hold because I was got stuck, working on something else, or got sick. Sometimes it's based on a single paragraph that just doesn't sound good enough to fit into the story and the like. Or just missed the mood to do anything, even if I had it open the text editor.
.
I should thank everyone who stuck with this story despite its mistakes here and over-there, plus the delays. I think it was worth it.
Thanks to all, who make a comment pointing out this or that, or said a word of praise. Even if it was not necessarily on this project, and some website don't even have a comment notification.
Thank for all who click on the Like/ Kudo/ Collection button, it make me smile.
Some websites having an ability to insert into chapter (pictures like cover) some not. So I have them all on Deviant Art com under "Labels" folder.
For me a finishing a project is not an end, because there is already an another one that knocking on a door. Heck, I have a notes full of notes or ideas, of what I can do next, but there is so little time for them all. My To-Do list format got compared to a game production war plan route. Plus I had a text-files there and over-there with stories and snippets I shuffle into a drawer.
So I shall go, and maybe we see each other on another shipped story. I invite you check up my other stories. (According to stats this story had 295k at this point (-2% style and notes)), yet according some websites stats my total word count on all project exceeded one million. Plus not all sites necessary have the same content. Some websites even died, or got abandoned by me.
Also when I am on it, the story name of Electric princess, I think it have an origin partially; In original anime scene where the kids call Mikoto a princess when she jump into a fountain for a purse. Or in scene from my other work, where she was in role of a thunder princess. Plus the idea of a monster charts like in Monster Musume anime, that display a sub-variety of a monster species including short description. So for Misaka it will be there; A Drone (sisters). A Com-Tower/Lil-sis (Last Order). A Teaser (Worst or Misuzu). And a Onee-sama. "When the colony of Misaka reach a certain level and/or get stressed by certain danger level, resulting in bulling the drones: An OP-Misaka is introduced. This hunter of hunters in indiscernible from normal drone. Yet a presence of Onee-sama in colony can get hinted, by random power outages and lighting strikes from a clear sky." [Chart was not actually created.]
-About: The Index Librorum Prohibitorum (English: Index of Forbidden Books) was a changing list of publications deemed heretical or contrary to morality by the Sacred Congregation of the Index (a former dicastery of the Roman Curia); Catholics were forbidden to print or read them, subject to the local bishop. Catholic states could enact laws to adapt or adopt the list and enforce it. The Index was active from 1560 to 1966. It banned thousands of book titles and blacklisted publications, including the works of Europe's intellectual elites.
The Index condemned religious and secular texts alike, grading works by the degree to which they were deemed to be repugnant, potentially misleading or heretical to the Sacred Congregation of the Index at the time. The aim of the list was to protect church members from reading theologically, culturally, or politically disruptive books.
In story of certain scientific Index, under a high level security and suppression, (plus bondage), they force little Index to read Grimoriars, whose are a form of life wanting to spread they knowledge to suitable readers. This knowledge can be too much for human mind, (dangerous taboo), that several readers went insane. Its like the amount of knowledge will lead her to master the field of magic, and from there is only a step for her to become a magic god.
.
Once again thank you all for sticking bay, an until next time: Ba~ay...
