After experiencing a terrible roar that could shake the entire hall building, Brit stood up. But then he heard a high-pitched cry, and he recognized the voice immediately. It came from SCP-096, the humanoid monster that goes berserk whenever its face is seen. Its nickname is "Shy Guy." Its hostility mechanism has caused countless players to feel an uncontrollable, creepy sensation just by listening to it.
"It... it appeared again..." Brit murmured. Then he turned his head and saw that the 'Shy Guy' was engaged in a fight with a nightmarish humanoid creature.
That humanoid was none other than SCP-106, the "Old Man," and the two had been fighting until this moment. The shock of the scene was almost impossible to describe in words.
Brit saw that the skin of the 'Shy Guy' had been severely corroded, with large areas exposing muscles and bones underneath. Even in the chest cavity, some organs were visible. Despite such serious injuries, the 'Shy Guy' was not incapacitated; it was still roaring and attempting to catch the 'Old Man' with a seriously injured arm.
But how could the 'Old Man' be so easily destroyed? If it could be killed that easily, the Foundation would probably have done so long ago, without the need for extensive containment measures.
It was also because of its strength that, despite fighting the 'Shy Guy' so far, the 'Old Man' showed no signs of fatigue. Although injured, its appearance suggested that killing it would still be a long way off.
The entire hall had returned to silence after the roar just now; all that remained was the mournful shriek of the 'Shy Guy.' Compared to its cry, the 'Old Man's' voice was much smaller and almost negligible.
Brit stared blankly at the two of them fighting. Overwhelmed by astonishment, he didn't react immediately. However, after a moment, he quickly realized the gravity of the situation.
"I can't look!!" he growled inwardly, then immediately lowered his head.
"I didn't see it... I didn't see it... I didn't see it..." Brit repeated in a panic.
He wasn't sure if he had caught a glimpse of the 'Shy Guy's' face during his viewing just now. If he had, it would be tantamount to provoking it. But considering the fight with the 'Old Man' was ongoing, it probably didn't have the time or energy to hunt down another target.
After all, Brit knew he was no match for the 'Old Man,' and he couldn't face the 'Shy Guy' head-on. He was just an ordinary person. If it decided to kill him, nine out of ten, he would be dead instantly.
"What do I do... what do I do... Wait, I still have the mask..." Brit's eyes suddenly lit up, like a drowning man grabbing a straw at the last moment. He hurriedly searched for the item he was carrying...
Super Gas Mask, Keycard, etc. And just when Brit found the gas mask he was looking for, he suddenly heard another noise, the sound of a propeller spinning.
Brit was stunned for a moment, then he instinctively looked up. Outside the dome, high in the sky, several armed helicopters whizzed past.
"What are they... dealing with?"
