Chapter 21 - fighting [2] And the tension

Shazam stood firmly, his eyes glowing with power, but he knew well that the opponent before him was unlike any foe he had ever faced. Evil Superman advanced confidently, his eyes blazing with malice and a cold smile playing on his lips.

"You don't have enough power to face me, Shazam," Evil Superman declared, pressing on each word like a threat.

Shazam, with his cheerful and sometimes reckless personality, replied with a mocking smile, "Oh, is that what all boring villains say? Come on, try me!" He then quickly raised his hand, shouting, "Shazam!" and unleashed a massive lightning bolt toward Evil Superman.

But, contrary to expectations, Evil Superman didn't step back or dodge. The attack struck his eyes directly, his gaze glowing with heat, propelling him forward toward Shazam at a blinding speed, passing through the lightning as if it were just a fleeting light.

Shazam barely managed to dodge the first strike, but the second one hit him directly in the stomach, sending him crashing through the stone wall behind him. His body slammed against it with force, and the building trembled under the impact.

"Is that all you've got?" Evil Superman mocked as he approached, his steps heavy and steady, while Shazam writhed, trying to get up.

But Shazam wasn't one to give up easily. He muttered, "Shazam!" and released a massive surge of lightning around his body, creating a burst of energy that pushed Evil Superman back slightly.

"I won't stop fighting, even if I'm just a kid with the body of a big guy!" Shazam shouted, launching himself at his opponent with a series of rapid punches, but Evil Superman blocked them effortlessly.

"The kid playing the hero... that's all you are, Shazam." Evil Superman sneered as he grabbed Shazam's wrist with a grip so strong it nearly crushed his bones. Then, with his other hand, he delivered a powerful punch to Shazam's face, cracking the ground beneath their feet.

Shazam groaned, but he gathered his strength again, firing a bolt of lightning from his eyes that struck Evil Superman square in the chest. Yet the latter simply smiled, as if the pain meant nothing to him.

"You see... your power relies on lightning, but mine has no limits," Evil Superman declared, grabbing Shazam by the neck, lifting him into the air before hurling him through the cracked walls once more.

Shazam rose slowly, wiping the blood from his lips, his eyes gleaming with rage. "I still have plenty more to give!" He charged again, but this time he decided to use his speed, circling Evil Superman rapidly, creating an electrical tornado, with lightning striking from all directions.

But Evil Superman stood motionless. He raised his hand and fired a heat beam from his eyes, piercing through the lightning storm and striking Shazam directly in the chest, sending him flying back again.

"I told you, my power is absolute, while you're just a child playing a dangerous game," Evil Superman stated.

Despite the pain, Shazam got back on his feet. "A child? Maybe. But this child won't stop fighting!" He shouted loudly, "Shazam!" A massive lightning bolt descended from the sky, striking Evil Superman directly, flooding the place with a blinding white light.

When the light faded, Evil Superman stood, smoke rising from his body, but his face remained smiling.

"A good attempt... but not enough," he muttered before appearing before Shazam at super speed, unleashing a series of rapid punches that slammed Shazam's body into the ground multiple times.

Shazam groaned, barely able to stand. "No... it can't end like this..."

"It has already ended," Evil Superman declared, delivering a final blow that dropped Shazam motionless to the ground.

Standing over him, his eyes ignited with a heat beam, his expression cold with victory.

In a moment of despair, Shazam whispered weakly, "Shazam..." But this time, no lightning came to save him. His power left him, and he reverted to his human form — Billy Batson, the exhausted young boy.

Evil Superman looked at Billy with contempt. "Just a child, after all." Then he grabbed the unconscious Billy, slung him over his shoulder, and flew away.

Inside the DC Multiverse Hub

In a world submerged in darkness, a massive web stretched across the infinite space, its threads tangled in chaos, as if representing different worlds intertwined with one another. On these threads, images of multiple versions of Spider-Man flashed in and out, each one capturing a different moment from an endless story. There was Spider-Man in his classic suit, another in a different outfit, and each image shimmered with the memories and emotions tied to it.

Then, in a moment of chaos, a small thread appeared in the corner. It began to slowly form itself, twisting around as if something was rebuilding it. Over time, it grew clearer, showing Spider-Man standing beside Flash and the other heroes as Flash and Spider-Man were having a conversation.

Inside the Thread

Flash raised an eyebrow, "Green Goblin? I've never heard of him."

Peter was shocked by his slip of the tongue, realizing that this world didn't have a Green Goblin. He tried to fix his mistake, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest — though it wasn't unbearable.

The pain lasted only for a brief moment, and just as quickly, it vanished. But he felt it.

Outside the Thread

This scene generated more threads around it, and the thread merged with the web.

It's unfortunate there was no monitor for the Great New Web that connects the DC universes.

DC Multiverse Prime Universe : New York

A man in his early fifties opened his eyes, but the strange thing was that his body did not match his age.

He rose from the bed slowly, his eyes shifting towards the mirror. The other strange thing was that the man's reflection in the mirror was smiling madly, while the man himself wasn't.
