Chapter 131 - Chapter 130: The Reclaimed Eye

The Hyuga were paired with firearms, and the Uchiha were paired with technological ninja blades.

Both combinations maximized the combat power of the two clans.

It was a terrifying synergy.

The Hyuga's precision and Byakugan vision, paired with modern ballistics, turned them into long-range predators.

The Uchiha, wielding high-frequency particle blades that vibrated at impossible speeds, became living storm fronts on the battlefield.

The result—

The combined combat strength of the two great clans had ascended to an entirely new level.

Orochimaru's eyes shone with fascination, the corners of his mouth curling into a hungry smile as his tongue slid slowly across his lips.

'If every ninja in Konoha could be armed with these weapons…'

He could hardly imagine it.

A single village standing above the world — not through bloodline alone, but through science.

"The purpose of this war," Namikaze Mirai said, his tone calm as a still lake, "is to test technological ninja."

Orochimaru nodded, his golden eyes narrowing in understanding.

Indeed.

This war was not only a campaign of ideology, not just a revolution to reshape the feudal world—

it was also an experiment.

A field test for Konoha's new era of mechanized combat.

And the results were already stunning.

If such units appeared on a battlefield of the next Great Ninja War… what kind of scene would it be?

Orochimaru's pupils contracted slightly.

His anticipation grew stronger, burning like a fever.

Meanwhile, within the Capital of the Land of Fire—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The corridor shook.

Inside the Daimyo Palace, Kakashi's silver hair bristled as a wave of killing intent surged through the air.

It wasn't chakra.

It was something colder.

More invasive.

The space before him twisted, spinning into a crimson vortex—

and from its center, a black sleeve extended, pale bandaged fingers reaching straight for his face.

Aiming directly for his left eye.

His Sharingan.

Kakashi's pupils contracted. He tried to dodge—

Too late!

Clang!

A ninja blade flashed, its steel gleaming under the lamplight.

The outstretched hand, just as it was about to gouge into Kakashi's eye socket, turned ethereal — passing harmlessly through his face like mist.

That brief pause was enough.

Kakashi leapt backward, his sandals scraping against the stone as he widened the distance, gasping for air.

He wiped cold sweat from his temple, his breath ragged.

"Thank you… Inaho-senpai."

Uchiha Inaho lowered his blade slowly, eyes sharp and expression grim.

"There's no need for words. This guy, he's here for you."

"I know." Kakashi said, his voice tight.

It wasn't him this enemy sought, it was Obito's eye.

Just as tension filled the air, a mocking voice broke through the silence.

"Ah ya ya ya~ Madara-sama, I told you to be careful! He got away again!"

White Zetsu's upper body rose out of the ground like a grotesque flower, his grin wide and unrestrained.

"Shut up!" Obito's voice came cold and low through the mask. "I don't need your commentary."

Beneath that spiral-patterned mask, anger simmered.

He could have taken Kakashi's Sharingan easily.

His timing was perfect.

But when his hand touched the air before Kakashi's face, something inside him hesitated.

That eye… it was his final link to the past.

To Rin.

To the boy he once was.

If he took it now—

he would sever that last memory with his own hands.

That moment of hesitation cost him the victory.

The Sharingan behind his mask flickered with a cold, ruthless light as he forced those thoughts down.

There was no turning back.

If Namikaze Mirai ever caught him alive, death would be mercy.

The Sharingan only revealed its full power when its two halves were together.

'Forgive me, Kakashi.' he thought. 'You can blame your Hokage.'

Kakashi's eyes narrowed as realization hit. He clenched his kunai tightly.

"If I'm not mistaken…" he said slowly, "you were behind the Nine-Tails' attack that night."

Inaho froze. Then fury exploded across his face.

"What did you say?" he snarled. "You were the one who caused that night?!"

That night of terror, the night the Uchiha were branded traitors, their clan pushed to the brink of ruin.

That night that took the life of the Fourth Hokage and Uzumaki Kushina.

The night that left Uzumaki Naruto alone.

Rage boiled through Inaho's veins.

"Unforgivable scum!"

With a shout, he lunged, his blade slicing through the air.

"Die!"

The strike was fast, filled with killing intent. But as the blade descended, Kakashi's voice echoed desperately:

"Be careful! He uses space-time ninjutsu!"

"What—?"

Inaho's pupils shrank as the blade passed straight through Obito's chest like it had met nothing but air.

Before he could recover, Obito's hand shot forward, seizing his wrist.

The world twisted.

The air warped around them, pulling him into a crushing spiral. His muscles locked, his chakra froze, and his breath stopped in his throat.

'What… is this?!'

The space itself seemed to drag him into another dimension.

Then—

Thunk!

A kunai whistled through the air, spinning toward Obito's mask.

The vortex vanished instantly as Obito's form blurred into intangibility. The kunai tore through the space where his head had been, embedding into the far wall.

Kakashi's voice cut through the haze.

"Don't touch him! When he's intangible, physical attacks won't work!"

Obito's lone Sharingan glowed faintly from behind the mask.

"Tch. How troublesome."

If he hadn't phased at the right moment, his mask would have shattered, and his identity exposed.

If Namikaze Mirai ever learned that the man who killed his brother and sister-in-law was his own student…

He would hunt him across the ends of the earth.

"Are you alright?" Kakashi knelt beside Inaho.

"I'm fine." Inaho rasped, though his body trembled violently. His fingers still felt numb, his chakra flow sluggish.

"Be careful, Kakashi. Once he grabs you, you won't be able to move!"

Kakashi's Sharingan eye narrowed.

"I've already noticed. When he attacks, he becomes tangible. That's his weakness."

That was their only chance.

"Heh heh heh! Madara-sama, twice now! You're really losing your touch!" White Zetsu mocked from the floor, his laughter echoing through the hall.

"Enough!" Obito said icily. "Use your ability."

"Oh? You still need me to act?"

Kakashi barely heard the rest. A sudden, searing pain tore through his skull.

Ahhhh!!!

He screamed, clutching his left eye. Blood poured through his fingers. Something warm and slick slid down his face.

In the next instant, white organic matter erupted from his shoulder, pulsing like living flesh, and in its palm, there was a blood-stained Sharingan.

Uchiha Inaho froze in shock.

"Kakashi! Your eye! What's happening?!"

'What is that white thing?'

'How did it suddenly appear from his body!?'
