While Aiden and Arwen slept peacefully in each other's arms, it was chaotic in Selene's room.
Returning, she could no longer hold back. The calmness she had forced herself to master felt long forgotten, like she never knew it.
"Arhhh!" she roared, tearing off the pillow in her fit of frustration. "How dare she play me? How dare she?"
Carl stood in a difficult spot. She didn't know what she should speak about or how she should calm her down. The way Selene seemed to be losing, it scared her … scared her for her life.
"M-Ms. Selene, please calm down. That woman is not worth it. She —"
"She is not worth it, yet she sits beside Aiden like she owns him." Selene hissed again, fisting a cushion in her grip and then hurling it on the floor. "How dare she, and under what capability?"
Carla flinched and instinctively took a step back. "Ms. Selene, please calm down, or you will hurt yourself." Her words were laced with extreme worry.
