"Silence, longer than before stretched between us. I don't know how long our gazes stayed locked, but the tension in the air was definitely thick. 

The longer he stayed quiet, the more the doubts crept into my false confident armor. He was going to say no.

Retrieving my fingers from his mouth, he finally broke the silence. 

"One night?"

Is he saying yes? I didn't dare to breathe incase he's falsely leading me on, but I nodded. "One night."

I was currently on phone with Nicole, just a week and a half after our half failed- half successful outing with her. At the moment, I was trying to convince her to affirm the plans I was making for her Bachelorette party. 


But what was a Bachelorette party without it's bride to be! A groan of protest echoed from the other side of the phone. "Ray, dear. I'm exhausted, and even if I wasn't, this wedding is purely arranged. I don't need a Bachelorette. Bachelorettes are only for brides that are celebrating and we both know my marriage is not a celebration. "


I signed, falling short of a rebuke. Nicole was right, but I wanted to give her the bridal experience that was meant to be. The one that she truly deserved, even though this wasn't a really jovial union.
