Chapter 306: I Am an Immortal from Another World

Emberya Empire, Old Calendar Year 73.

A mysterious beast, Wuxiang, appeared suddenly, wreaking havoc across the empire.

The Emperor personally led the army to suppress it—barely managing a pyrrhic victory.

Gravely injured and on the verge of death, he passed the throne to the princess, Zhuge Kongming.

However, shortly after the succession, Princess Kongming vanished without a trace.

The transfer of supreme imperial authority was left in limbo, throwing the court into disarray.

Fortunately, three major powers—Prime Minister Rita, Grand General Durandal, and Second Prince Kiana—joined forces to stabilize the situation, allowing the empire to function without immediate danger.

Even so, locating the missing Princess, who was suspected of fleeing from responsibility, and completing the transition of power remained the most critical matter at hand.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

"Awoo! So good! This meat is amazing!!!"

The Hall of State Affairs, where solemn deliberations were meant to occur, had an empty throne at the very top.

Below it, Prime Minister Rita and Grand General Durandal sat quietly, both watching as Second Prince Kiana devoured her feast with unrestrained enthusiasm.

These dishes were never meant to be part of such an occasion—but with the throne vacant, no one could stop the Second Prince once she'd made up her mind.

"Why are you two staring at me like that? Keep talking! Or hey, you could eat too—trust me, it's top-tier stuff! Father's royal chefs, you know? I never got to boss them around like this before. Good thing he's dead now—cough, I mean, I'm in deep mourning! Yeah! This princess can only ease her sorrow with food! Yummy!"

Kiana lifted her plate and shoveled food into her mouth as if she hadn't eaten in years.

Rita and Durandal exchanged a glance, clearly uninterested in engaging with Kiana's antics—her status was… complicated. She was not only special but potentially a contender for the throne herself. Best not to provoke her unnecessarily.

So they returned to the real discussion.

"I still propose we deploy the army," Durandal stated firmly.

"The issue of the Princess concerns the very foundation of the empire. We can't afford delays or uncertainty."

"General," Rita replied calmly, "we lost three hundred thousand troops in the battle against the beast Yanluo—you witnessed it firsthand. And the former Emperor's fight with Wuxiang also cost us hundreds of thousands more. In such a state, pulling troops from key defensive posts would be unwise."

"I believe our forces should continue to guard the realm. As long as the empire remains stable, we can maintain order. Finding the Princess under these conditions is the safest path forward."

Durandal narrowed her eyes slightly.

"Prime Minister, forgive my bluntness. But it seems you've been subtly resisting any large-scale search for the Princess. Might I ask… do you support her escape from responsibility? After all, everyone knows you and her were close—almost like lifelong friends."

Rita's tone didn't waver.

"General, you do me too much credit. Personal relationships are one thing—but when it comes to matters of state, I would never act out of favoritism. I truly have no idea what the Princess is thinking, let alone support such behavior. If I had done so, I would be plunging all our citizens into disaster—and even death would not redeem such a crime."

Her voice was composed and unshaken. Durandal, despite her suspicion, couldn't detect any sign of falsehood in Rita's expression or eyes.

At that moment, Kiana, gripping a chicken drumstick, pointed at Rita with greasy fingers and said:

"Heh! Maybe you're hiding my poor little niece somewhere. Or worse—maybe you got rid of her. After all, if she's not around, I can't officially take the throne. That leaves all the power in your hands, Prime Minister. A perfect setup for a coup, don't you think?"

The atmosphere froze instantly.

A flicker of emotion passed through Durandal's eyes. Though she sat ramrod straight, suspicion and alertness were evident.

Rita opened her mouth but only gave a helpless, bitter smile.

"Your Highness, could you please stop fanning the flames? Things are already tense enough. If you don't trust me, why not take charge of state affairs yourself?"

"No thanks!" Kiana replied immediately.

"I was just messing around. That kind of stuff's a pain—it would totally get in the way of enjoying life. Awoo! So good!"

Durandal's expression returned to calm. She stood up, her light armor letting out a faint metallic rasp.

"Only the Prime Minister can oversee the stability of the court. Therefore, I will follow your lead. I shall take my leave for now—and focus on maintaining order within the military, awaiting further orders from you and His Highness."

"Now that's smart. A general like you shouldn't be getting involved in succession matters anyway. Go on, do your job. I won't see you off."

Kiana waved lazily, her mouth and hands covered in grease. With her dismissive tone and grating attitude, it was easy to forget her royal status—if she weren't royalty, someone likely would've smacked her already.

Durandal gave a curt nod and left the hall.

Kiana resumed her gluttony.

Rita massaged her temples, feeling a headache coming on as she tried to figure out how to continue dealing with Kiana.

Just then, both of them suddenly stiffened and turned sharply toward the door.

BOOM!!

A large object crashed through the palace gates and slammed into Kiana's dining table, sending dishes, bowls, soup, and oil flying in every direction.

"Who's there!?" ×2

Kiana and Rita both dodged the incoming debris, stepping to opposite sides and glaring toward the shattered doorway.

At the same time, Durandal—who had been blown back by the impact—got up from the ground, wiping oil from her hands. Her expression was tense and alert as she too stared outside.

"Yo!"

From the broken palace gate, a head peeked inside. Crimson eyes, an exquisitely beautiful face, and a radiant smile, with an elegant golden trident-shaped headpiece hanging from her hair. She waved at them in a friendly, casual manner.

"You must be the most powerful and influential people here, right? Nice to meet you all! I'm Fu Hua. Pleased to make your acquaintance!"

"???"

The three exchanged glances, confirming none of them recognized this unexpected intruder.

The girl—Senti, as she would soon reveal—stepped fully into the hall, stretching lazily like someone out for a stroll.

"So, how should I put this... I'm here to defeat all of you. But first—Kiana, could you go wash your hands and face? You're seriously greasy. And Durandal... yikes, you look like a beggar. So dirty. Can you take a bath first?"

Kiana ignored the insult—for now—but Durandal's face darkened.

You dare criticize me for looking like this? You're the one who slammed me into a table!

Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Durandal quickly assessed the situation.

Someone who could break into the heart of the palace unnoticed, and knock her away with ease, was no ordinary opponent.

Given Kiana's royal status and Rita's position as a civil official, neither should be put at risk.

As a general, the responsibility was hers alone.

Durandal gathered her strength, stomping forward and cracking the palace floor beneath her. With a gust of force, her punch surged toward Senti.

"Tch."

Senti clicked her tongue in annoyance. Her figure blurred as she dodged effortlessly, pressing an open palm near Durandal's abdomen.

"Inch Force: Wind Through Hollow Ground!"

She made up the move's name on the spot. A burst of qi shot from her hand, launching Durandal backward once again.

At that moment, a shadow loomed behind her—Kiana's greasy fist came crashing down from above, while Rita swept in low, a whip-like leg strike aimed at Senti's side.

Senti frowned, clearly unimpressed.

BOOM!!

Kiana went flying out of the hall.

Rita was pinned underfoot, Senti's heel planted firmly on her back.

The red-eyed girl yawned.

"Haa~~"

"I didn't expect much from a tiny bubble world like this, but wow... you're all even weaker than I thought. This is boring."

"Who are you? Who sent you? What happened to the palace guards and the royal protectors outside!?"

Rita, gritting her teeth through the pain, turned her head and demanded answers.

Senti pointed at herself, blinking innocently.

"Me? Hmm… I'm an immortal from another world. I've crossed fifty thousand years, once protected Shenzhou, and suppressed the Honkai for five thousand of those. My martial prowess is unrivaled, my beauty peerless, and my intellect boundless! The rest… let's skip twenty thousand more words, shall we? Got the picture?"

"…Utter nonsense!"

"Yeah, yeah. I get it—you can't handle the truth. Anyway, your guards? I already took them down. Just a little mind control, nothing fancy. And once you three are defeated too, this country will be mine. So how about it? Want to surrender peacefully, or are you going to make this more painful?"

Senti smiled sweetly as she spoke.

In response, Kiana and Durandal lunged at her again. Rita twisted around to grab Senti's ankle, trying to create an opening.

Senti let out a soft sigh, rolling her neck until it cracked.

"Bullying the weak isn't really my style... but hey, a mission's a mission."

"Now come on—do your best to at least keep me entertained!"

As the three launched their synchronized assault, Senti lifted her head and grinned. Her expression turned manic and wild, eyes gleaming with excitement.

From her body erupted a wave of chaotic, unnameable Honkai energy—surging outward with devastating force.

BOOOOM!!!
