Chapter 305 - Chapter 305: Final Instructions

Chapter 305: Final Instructions

"The passage to the outside world is open. But… didn't you say on the first day that you didn't need any experiments?"

Su stood calmly beside Sigurd, controlling the portal that led into the Sea of Quanta, his voice as gentle as ever.

Sigurd glanced at him. In his hand, a delicate, translucent data construct shaped like a leaf was forming—an imprint to anchor the position of Cosmic Juggernaut within the quantum domain.

"I only said I didn't need experiments involving authority-based techniques. I never said I didn't need any experiments."

"Fair enough. You're the emperor. Whatever you say goes."

Su smiled peacefully and asked no further.

Sigurd then turned toward Kevin, who was sitting at the stone table behind them, calmly sipping tea.

"I trust your rationality. Still, I need to confirm—you're not planning to force your way back to the real world while I'm gone, right?"

Kevin held his teacup in one hand. With the other, he flicked the massive flaming sword—Judgment of Shamash—from the table.

The burning blade spun in the air and landed precisely at Sigurd's feet, embedding itself in the stone.

"Take it. Just in case."

Kevin's voice was flat, his eyes calm as he looked at the white-clad young man before him—a man who, in many ways, mirrored himself.

He didn't give a direct answer, but this action spoke volumes.

During these past few days, Kevin had observed carefully. He realized that this era's combat capabilities were no weaker than those of the Previous Era. Even if he tried to return to reality by force, Sigurd would surely have a way to follow. What's more, Su and Hua had clearly chosen to side with Sigurd.

Kevin knew he had lost any strategic advantage. If he could no longer push the Stigmata Plan forward, then opposing Sigurd would be nothing more than pointless defiance.

Sigurd grasped the hilt, and the great sword vanished from his hand.

"Stay put. It won't be long. I'll make sure to send more supplies from the real world. Enjoy the peace while it lasts—because once I'm back, I'll be working you hard."

"If it's for fighting against the Honkai, I'll cooperate with you fully. But I still hope you reconsider. The Stigmata Plan remains the most viable strategy we have. Humanity's side has its Herrschers, and you're powerful, yes—but compared to the final enemy, we're still insignificant."

"I agree—it is viable. But the price is too steep. It's a high-stakes gamble, a last resort. As long as the current strategy is working, I won't abandon it. The plan will remain a backup option, and that's all I can promise."

"Fair. I believe there will come a time when reality forces your hand. But…"

Kevin lowered his gaze, staring into the still surface of his tea. The rest of his sentence never left his lips.

But… if possible, he truly hoped that plan would remain a backup.

He wanted to see a day when humanity triumphed over the Honkai with its own hands—that had always been Kevin's wish. Mei's wish. The wish of countless warriors from the Previous Era.

Kevin's unspoken thoughts did not go unheard. Su sensed them. Sigurd, too, understood most of it.

But Sigurd chose not to pursue the topic any further. Instead, he asked Su:

"Where's Fu Hua?"

"Saying goodbye to Little Xuan. Speaking of which, are you really not taking her along?"

"The Sea of Quanta isn't some peaceful beach stroll. Anything could happen. Little Xuan just isn't strong enough—better not risk her."

"Fair enough. Then wait a bit longer. Little Xuan definitely has a lot she wants to say to Fu Hua and Senti. Otherwise, she won't feel at ease."

Su pictured Book of Fuxi nagging his dear old friend, just like a mother sending her kids off on a journey. He couldn't help but smile at the image—grateful and a little envious.

After fifty thousand years, it was truly heartening that an old friend could find a family like this.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Inside Fu Hua's Room

Book of Fuxi sat on Fu Hua's head, directing her as she packed a modest-sized travel bag. Once everything seemed in order, she looked around one last time, let out a long sigh, and said:

"That's all you need to take. I trust Sigurd won't treat you poorly in terms of living conditions. Sigh~ without me there, you two need to take good care of yourselves, and each other."

"We will. Thank you, Little Xuan."

Fu Hua raised her hands and gently lifted the tiny puppet from her head.

Book of Fuxi sat quietly in Fu Hua's hands, her arms tucked into her sleeves, staring at her old friend. After a moment, she waved her hand dismissively, as if annoyed:

"Alright, now call out Senti. I have some final instructions for her."

"Alright."

Fu Hua smiled faintly. Then, her blue eyes shifted into a vivid crimson.

"Little Xuan, Little Xuan, is there something you want to tell me? Are you gonna miss me? Or are you just worried that the Old Timer might mess up? Don't worry, I'll protect her!"

Senti cheerfully held Book of Fuxi up in front of her, rubbing her own cheek against the tiny puppet's face.

Book of Fuxi let her do as she pleased, but gradually, her eyes dulled into a dead-fish stare.

Protect Fu Hua?

With your lack of self-awareness? Honestly, it'd be a miracle if you could protect your own butt in front of Sigurd.

After a few moments, she pushed Senti's face away and said seriously:

"Alright, that's enough fooling around. Listen—what I'm about to say is very important. You'd better remember every word!"

"Oh? What's up, Little Xuan?"

"When you're out there, make sure you listen to Sigurd. Whatever he says, you do it. If something comes up that you have to decide on your own, always—always—check with that blockhead first. No acting on your own, got it?"

"Huh? Why do I—Ow!!"

Book of Fuxi reached out and pinched Senti's cheek.

Her tiny hand grabbed just a small bit of flesh—but Senti didn't dare resist. The pain? Excruciating.

Once she let go, she spoke with a solemn expression as Senti pouted miserably:

"I'm not joking with you. Yes, Sigurd has accepted your presence—for now. But let's be real: that acceptance is mostly because of Hua. As for you personally? He may not have any good impression at all."

"You've seen his power firsthand. I know you're unconvinced—but even if you could beat him in a fight, it wouldn't matter. Sigurd's about to become someone who holds the entire authority of civilization in his hands. No matter how strong you are, you can't surpass that kind of power."

"To put it bluntly—his opinion of you will directly affect your treatment moving forward. It might even determine whether you live or die."

Senti opened her mouth to argue—but she knew.

Everything Book of Fuxi said was painfully true. She had no rebuttal.

Book of Fuxi sighed and continued, her tone deeply earnest:

"The children of Anti-Entropy all grew up alongside Sigurd. Their paths were, in some way, shaped by his hand. So of course, they were accepted without issue."

"As for Ana Schariac, her own abilities are limited, but she has Otto's endorsement. Say what you want about Otto—but you can't deny his weight carries unmatched authority. Because of that, Ana was accepted too."

She massaged her temples in frustration as she continued her analysis:

"You're different. You're stronger than all of them—and your awakening was completely unexpected. In this kind of situation, it would be strange if Sigurd did trust you easily."

"He says he's taking Hua along to help, but I'd bet he's also using the chance to observe you."

As she speculated on Sigurd's intentions, she looked at Senti's quiet, attentive expression. She wasn't sure how much the girl truly understood. After hesitating a moment, Book of Fuxi finally said:

"Anyway, just focus on doing your best out there. Senti—I need you to understand something: if Sigurd holds a grudge against you, then Hua becomes the one stuck in the middle. Don't make things harder for her. This is for your own good too. Please—promise me you'll behave, alright?"

She gently stroked Senti's cheek, her eyes full of affection and concern.

Senti puffed her cheeks but nodded slowly.

"Alright, I get it. I'll put up with it."

She was prideful. She hated yielding. But she could feel how deeply Book of Fuxi cared. She also hadn't missed how Fu Hua had subtly tried to speak well of her these past two days in front of the others.

If it's for them, she thought, then… compromise isn't the worst thing.

Both Book of Fuxi and Fu Hua—still present in the mental space—breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

Then, Book of Fuxi floated up and gently patted Senti on the forehead.

"That's it. I've said what I needed to. Safe travels—go and come back quickly. I'll be waiting here for you both… and then, we'll go home together."

"Got it!" ×2
