Chapter 492 - Chapter 494: Honorary Teacher of Shuchi'in Academy?

[TL/N: Read my new work - Anime Group Chat in a Doomsday World!]

-------

Alexander couldn't help but feel speechless as he observed Chika Fujiwara's defensive stance. Did she think he was the type to snoop into others' privacy?

"Don't get the wrong idea. I heard from Utaha that her school has a lively, lovely, innocent, and kind secretary. That's how I recognized you right away," Alexander explained.

Chika's face lit up with shyness. "Utaha-chan praise makes me blush," she said, her expression a mix of embarrassment and delight. Then, as though remembering something, she quickly asked, "By the way, Alexander, what brings you here? Are you looking for Utaha-chan?"

"No," Alexander replied, shaking his head. "I'm here to help Tohka and Saeko with their admission procedures. But… I don't know where the principal's office is."

"Admission procedures?!" Chika's eyes sparkled with excitement. She turned her attention to Tohka, particularly captivated by her presence.

"Wonderful! Is Tohka-chan really joining our school? Come on, I'll take you to the principal's office!"

With enthusiasm, Chika eagerly took on the role of their guide. Seeing her enthusiasm, Alexander and the others didn't refuse.

The group proceeded toward the principal's office, their journey smooth and unimpeded thanks to Chika's help.

Soon, Alexander found himself face-to-face with Adolphe Pescarolo, the dean of Shuchi'in Academy.

When Alexander explained his intention to enroll Saeko and Tohka, Adolphe hesitated.

"Mr. Alexander, I'm aware of recent events, and while Miss Saeko seems fine, Miss Tohka…" Adolphe trailed off. His concern was clear: if Tohka inadvertently released even a fraction of her spiritual power, it could harm other students. As the head of an elite school, Adolphe couldn't afford such risks.

Alexander understood the hesitation and didn't want to make things difficult for the dean. Although he sealed Tohka's power, he didn't mean to tell about it. After all, she can still use her power. Just as he was about to leave, Adolphe spoke up.

"Wait a moment, Mr. Alexander."

Alexander paused, curious about what Adolphe would say next.

"To be frank," Adolphe began, "no institution in this city is willing to take on such unstable factors—not because we dislike them, but because we fear the responsibility. However, if someone were to shoulder that responsibility, we'd have no objections."

"What do you mean?" Alexander asked, growing impatient with the roundabout explanation.

Adolphe got straight to the point. "I'd like to appoint you as an honorary teacher at our academy. You wouldn't need to lecture or perform any duties—just be present at the school when needed to assist us."

Alexander immediately understood. It wasn't uncommon for schools to name prominent individuals as honorary staff.

Even in his previous life, prestigious institutions often had honorary professors to bolster their reputation.

With his current status in this world, Alexander was more than qualified to accept such a position.

"This…" Alexander hesitated. "Are you sure I'm the right person for this?"

"Mr. Alexander," Adolphe assured him sincerely, "many of your modern works feature high school students. I'm confident this is a good match. Moreover, this arrangement would allow many of your associates to join our academy in the future without issue."

Faced with Adolphe's genuine proposal, Alexander finally relented.

"Alright, I'll take the title of honorary art teacher."

"Excellent! I'll handle the admission procedures immediately," Adolphe said, beaming. "From now on, we're all on the same team. Fujiwara-san, please take the new teacher and students on a tour of the school!"

Adolphe seemed so thrilled that Alexander couldn't help but wonder: Why is this old man so happy? It's just an honorary title.

With lingering curiosity, Alexander left the office alongside the others.

As they walked, Chika happily took the lead. She grabbed Tohka's arm and exclaimed, "Alexander-sensei! Tohka-chan, Saeko, let me show you around the school!"

Alexander, noticing her enthusiasm, asked curiously, "You seem to really like Tohka. Why is that?"

"Huh?" Chika turned to Tohka and, without warning, embraced her tightly. She began nuzzling Tohka's cheek with her own, her expression one of utter delight.

"Of course, I like her! Tohka-chan is so adorable! Aside from Kaguya-chan, she's the cutest girl I've ever seen. Oh, by the way, let me take you to the archery club. Kaguya-chan's probably there right now, and I'm sure she's excited to meet you too!"
