Chapter 189 - Age Of Holy War (5)

Setting up more than a few cooking pots, the Robel Holy Kingdom's naval members, as well as the paladins, began organizing a small food drive to lift the spirits of the refugees, as well as themselves.

The elves, seeing the rather mundane food, felt a tinge of disappointment, while also understanding just how hard it must have been for them to reach the level of strength they had. The one elf in the group with some excellent cooking skills decided to go around to the cooks, and give it that elven enhancement.

After this enhancement, the first person to receive a bowl of this warm creamy stew was a little girl, one looking up at the tall elf, and his pointy ears. The smell of the food made her eyes sparkle, and tummy growl.

"Go on little one, don't be shy. Mother gives her blessings to all. I am merely a child extending her kindness to more."

The little girl tilted her head confused, clearly not understanding then she looked around for someone.

"I don't really get it mister elfy, but can I really have this-"

The cook smiled, took the spoon, and filled up with a little of the broth. He brought it up, and smiled.

"Go ah…"

"Ah…"

The flavor of the creamy soup changed the girl's expression from worried about taking it, to loving it.

"See, that's a better look. Come have the rest, child. If you're hungry after, you can have another bowl. There's plenty to go around."

"Really!? Yay! Thank you uncle!"

The girl took the bowl and ran off to eat, happily sitting down on a small bench, kicking her legs as she ate every last bite.

"You see that, that is how a child should be. Unbothered by the problems in the world. Free from scorn, and able to grow, fully nurtured by those around them." The hero elf explained, clenching her hand into a fist. "I didn't fight so hard to end the Demon Gods just so this could continue happening…"

The Paladin Captain, having just woken up, still holding head, noticed the reaction the elf before him had. If she can act like that for human children… The Slane Theocracy really are the evil sons of bitches here.

"Right now, the Slane Theocracy has a lot of forces, they've been breeding their god-kin non stop since the war against the demon gods. If human biology is truly 5 times faster than our own, I'd estimate they have about 5000 god-kin still in reserves."

"5000 of those bitches?"

"Yes, and to be fair, she was on the weaker end of god-kin. But it doesn't matter, any kin of those bastard gods will be sent to Mother for her to deal with. She has a special way to ensure they won't be returning."

"So that's why you dealt with her corpse the way you did? I won't bother questioning it. I'm sure mother has her reasons."

"You're a good boy." The elf smiled. "Now then, for what happens next. I can offer you two choices. First, I can fill your food reserves, and you can make a full retreat, with this little thing signed. Or second, I can give you enough resources to continue your war path, and I can deliver mother's children to her loving arms. Oh, before you ask, it is a secret one way trip."

The Paladin captain, and the naval fleet captain looked at each other, nodded, and then smirked.

"I choose the third option. We split the refugees up, by their choice. Have a force return to the Robel Holy Kingdom, and make the ones who return, citizens. And then," He got a bit more serious. "The rest of us continue this path, and make sure the Slane Theocracy is too busy dealing with us, they can't stir the pot up back home. This should give our people a little relief from the 100 year war against the Demi-humans."

The elven woman started giggling, then held her sides as she began to laugh harder. After a few moments went by, she calmed down, wiped her eyes of the laughing tears, and smiled.

"In that case, I'll help you with whatever you need. So long as you promise two things. First save any and all of the mother's children, be it by kin, or by faith. And second, Kill as many Slane Theocracy Demons as you can. Do enough that their name might as well be Slaine Theocracy."

"Agreed, I'd like nothing more. And I'm sure my people would love the same."

"Then in Mother's great name, Night Silver, we are brother and sister under the moonlight."

After some time going through the reorganization of resources, and personnel, everything was settled. About half of the refugees decided to go with the elves to go and live with Mother in her paradise. The reason it wasn't all was largely due to the shock of what it was really like there, even so, there were also many who felt they didn't deserve such a kind offer. And decided to test their mettle against the hordes of the Demi-human army, to pay back the debt of rescue, rescue from a tyrannical religious order.

The ships poised to return, began to set sail. For the return trip to the Robel Holy kingdom, there were a couple of elves that went along with them as a little bit of added back up… Just in case.

The other group of ships ready and poised to continue their holy war against the Slane Theocracy, also set sail, signing war shanties on the water. They also brought a few elves, each quite eager to rescue their kin, yet still joined in the shanties, adding a few more octaves. A cultural exchange of song before battle.

And the remaining group of refugees were guided along the land, to the elven lands… An absurdly short walk compared to what they'd thought it would be. And then, off to a certain place away from the city, appeared a portal, out stepped a beautiful woman with dragon wings, and a scale over one of her exposed breasts.

"Wow, there's a lot of refugees. Welcome young brothers and sisters. I'm sure you're already made aware on the way here, but I'll remind you, to gain proper passage to Mother's paradise, you must bathe first. Since there's a lot of you here, I'll need you to strip first… I'm also here to heal any injuries you may have suffered on the way here, so go on, don't be shy."

And then some time later, everyone was through the portal. Disappearing from the surface world, and entering a true paradise.
