Chapter 3 - Skills

Melina stood there with almost no emotions on her face, watching the young man who was having a mental breakdown in front of her.

"WHAT THE FUUCCKKKK!!!"

The man in question was on the ground, crying and cursing while looking up above as if this all happened because of someone else.

"WHY GOD, WHYYYYY, I KNOW MY LUCK IS BAD, BUT EVEN THEN AT LEAST YOU COULD'VE GIVEN A SINGLE GOOD ONE."

The reason for his crash out being displayed brightly infront of him, as if mocking him for his luck. The screen displayed 3 skills. Skills that will now be locked with him for the rest of his life. The screen showed-

[

1. Anomaly Luck

Your luck is completely unstable. Anything can happen around you — sometimes impossibly good, sometimes absurdly bad, often with no pattern.

(Your fate is a dice roll with infinite sides. Treasure might fall from the sky — or a cow. Sometimes both at once.)

2. Parasitic Growth

You can earn the talents of others. It will start slow but when you spend time near talented martial artists, you unconsciously absorbs fragments of their skill, style, aura and more.

(You absorb bits and pieces of other people's martial arts. The result? A fighting style that looks like ten manuals got mixed in a blender… but hey, sometimes chaos throws the enemy off more than perfection.)

3. Tranquil Obsession

Anyone who interacts deeply with you for a long time risks developing obsessive-like traits. Especially effective against the the other gender. Will start with simple curiosity, happiness and slowly... well, good luck.

(Affection around you doesn't stay normal for long. A smile today, a love letter tomorrow, and by next week… someone's digging a grave for your rivals. Cute, right?)

Reading the skills even Melina was shocked. 'How the fuck?'.

It wasn't a question of whether the skills were good or not. It's the fact that all these skills were [TRANSCENDENT] level! They normally require divine contracts or cosmic level sacrifices and even then it's unlikely.

Acquiring even one is supposed to be considered an almost impossible miracle, but getting 3! in a row too! Though the man couldn't see their level now he'll know it soon how lucky he got.

'But I don't know whether to call his luck good or not'

"What the hell are these skills!? What am I gonna do with these. At least give me a frickin Excalibur or something or maybe even a blessing through which I can slay the Demon King. What the hell am I gonna do with these."

Melina coughs and says:

"Well you're not gonna go to those worlds. You'll be reincarnating into a Xianxia."

And as the bomb was dropped, everything turned silent. The young man who looked like someone froze him in space, couldn't even think, but still asked, more to deny the possibility rather than to hear it again:

"…Wait. Hold on."

He blinked, searching her face as if waiting for the punchline.

"Xianxia? That Xianxia? Swords, sects, vendettas, people killing each other over a stare that lasted too long?"

Melina didn't say anything and just nodded, and then-

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. One chance at reincarnation and I get sent into a world with those stupid arrogant young masters and cursed cultivation system noooooooo"

He bangs the ground as if asking for justice and then with a dramatic laugh that came short, disbelieving.

"Now don't tell me I'll be reincarnated into something like a jade beauty with a Yin Physique which makes me a good furnace for a yang body type and then I'll be brought to the Young Master of the Namgoong Clan who has some bullshit name like 'Rising Dragon of the Azuren Meteorite of Doom'. OH HELL NOO I'M GONNA GET TOUCHEDDD!!!"

Chucking, she straightens her posture and says-

"Ahem, Unfortunately No, you'll be reincarnated as a male."

Then she gets serious and says,

"Now don't cry, what you've got is what you've got. You can't change it. I already know what happened in your past, so a piece of advice."

"What you carry now is but a spark. Whether it dies as ash or blazes as a sun… that choice is yours. So man up, cause you'll be sent to an even harsher world. A world where strength decides everything. And no, it won't be easy as you think."

Hearing that, Aqua flinched, and with a sigh he thought,

'Yeah, she's right. This is not like those stories where the mc goes into a different worlds, travel around, gets stronger, and defeat enemies while acquiring multiple beauties. No, this is real life. And judging by those skills....yeah i don't think I'll be living a normal life there. This is really happening. I'm actually getting sent to a much darker world and I'll have to survive there for god knows how long.'

He let the weight of her words wash over him, not rushing, not flinching. His hands tightened, then slowly relaxed, as though gripping and releasing every fear at once. When he rose to his feet, it wasn't with desperation, but with a strange calm—as if the unknown ahead was not a threat, but a challenge.

What lingered in his eyes was not doubt. It was hunger.

Melina seeing his eyes knew, he had come to a conclusion.

"Are you ready?"

Aqua closes his eyes for a moment, exhales and says:

"…Alright. No panic. No excuses. I've already lived through enough to know what standing still costs. Some things… you don't get back."

He then clenched his fists and looked at her with a new found resolve.

"So this time, I'll move forward. No matter how strange the road, no matter how steep. I'll learn, I'll adapt, and I'll take everything this new world dares to offer."

Hearing him say this, a small smile comes upon her face. And for Aqua, it was the most beautiful smile he had seen in a while. He was lost in the moment which then got interrupted by the same blue transparent screen appearing.

[+10 Affection Points]

"Good. That's all it takes.

Momentum."

She nods to herself and then raises her hands:

"Now go and start your journey oh 'Eclipser'"

"Wait, What was-"

Before he could say anything, the white glow deepened until the edges of the room blurred, then vanished altogether. Space itself seemed to fold inward, as if the world was gently collapsing into a single point.

His body felt weightless, stretched and drawn forward, though his feet never moved. For a fleeting moment, there was no up or down, only a quiet pull carrying him somewhere else. And then, with the faintest flicker of light, the silence broke- he was gone.
