Due to the actions of the Eight Immortals and the rank-nine abominations, Li Qing's spy network embedded within the Heavenbearers' factions was instantly dismantled, and he himself was now being relentlessly hunted. Utilizing the Jade Fragment, he learned what the Eight Immortals had discussed—including the fact that they had leaked his information to the rank-nine abominations.
Li Qing thus resolved to initiate the first move of his grand strategy, with three aims: to relieve pressure on his intelligence network, to lure both the rank-nine abominations and the Eight Immortals into his web, and to observe their reactions in order to adjust the later stages of his plan accordingly.
However, this trap meant to draw the world's forces into his layout had to be executed differently.
