Chapter 56 - about Avon

"I and Avon are pretty similar...in almost all ways, master. So when I saw his rageful eyes, I knew why.

Because we don't get angry easily...we get angry over situations rather than people. When someone betrays our trust or someone does something inconvenient for us.....we think about why they did it and...if the person didn't do it to inconvenience us but that was a consequence....we get angry at the situation.

And in most cases it is like that. Very rarely we direct our anger at people. The anger inside him was mostly because of all the helplessness he felt.

People don't understand us....not even our closest ones. So I just knew when I looked into his eyes what he needed."

Reveria was surprised to see this level of bonding.

"I see"

'Earth chose only two people and they are very similar....the criteria is strictest so far of all the worlds I have seen'

"Master...what happened to him?"

"The red mist is mana induced, which brings out the worst memories of a person's life and pushes them into a state of constant fury. In this state they can't feel pain or anything other than anger so they push their bodies past its limits like he did. If we had not stopped him he would have had continued this until he died of exhaustion..."

"But why was something like that inside the mountain base?"

"Whoever did this wanted to this mist to mix and become a part of the ecosystem. That would cause all beings to grow excessively aggresive and kill each other. This would lead extinction of all life on the planet. Meaning it would be free for taking because a planet without life is at its weakest."

"...so the heretics planned this?"

"Probably...the one I was trailing seemed surprised to notice this planet though....but to arrive at a veiled planet is also suspiciious. He was probably following a map or something. I will investigate into it later. First let us take Avon to a sheltered place."

"Yes master"

They went to a nearby town and used an abandoned house. Since the awakening many buildings were left unattended.

Laia and Reveria regularly checked Avon's vitals. After resting for half a day Avon woke up.

He slowly opened his eyes. His head was hurting and his body felt sore.

"Urgh"

With a grunt he sat up. He was in a room he didn't know and all alone. He couldn't remember anything after the red mist had come in contact with him.

He tried to get up but his sore body didn't let him.

'.... It's just one problem after another...'

Avon sat slumped on the bed, staring into empty wondering when this cycle of confusion and injuries end.

As he was lost in his thoughts he heard a freaking sound and turned his head towards the door.

It was Laia, the moment she saw him, her face brightened up and she spoke in a relieved manner,

"You are finally awake. How are you? Are feeling any pain? Let me call master first, MASTER! AVON IS AWAKE!"

Avon felt a little warm inside seeing someone worry over him so much.

"I had a headache when I got up but now it's gone. Except my body being sore I'm alright."

Laia smiled at him.

"That's great."

Soon Reveria entered and she looked at Avon quickly sat beside him on the bed. She took his hands into hers and spoke in an apologetic tone,

"Avon, are you okay?"

"Yes master, it's just that my body's a little sore."

"I am sorry, I did not confirm whether you could cover yourself in mana and just went on. I failed you as a master. "

Avon was a little unhappy with how she had not listened to him but he knew it was just a misunderstanding. He didn't think of it much. Hearing her say that she failed him didn't sit well with him.

"No master, nothing like that. It was just a misunderstanding. Afterall it can happen right. In the end I'm fine too!"

"You are fine now but what happened to you was very dangerous. I apologized again. You put your trust in me and I didn't even listen to you."

"Its-its fine...really...also, what exactly happened to me?"

Then Reveria explained everything to him said at the end,

"I assumed you knew how to cover yourself in mana since you were past body cultivation..."

Avon was surprised to hear all this. Meanwhile Laia had seated herself on his other side and was holding his free hand.

Reveria then asked Avon,

"Why have you completed body cultivation? What happened when you left...tell me in detail."

Avon then recounted the events skipping many parts here and three including the ones where his life was in danger. He didn't want Reveria to feel more guilt.

Once he was done, both the women were beyond shocked. Reveria then spoke,

"I checked the travel log in stellar...and it indeed showed that three months passed during your travel. You did well to overcome all these problems. I am very proud of you."

Avon just smiled and he was feeling embarrassed.

"Your life could've been in danger yet you somehow managed to come safely, luck was with you too."

When she said that his face faltered a little as he remembered how he wasn't really lucky. Reveria noticed the micro change in his expressions.

Her face expression changed instantly and she asked with her eyes narrowed,

"Your life was not in danger at any point right?"

Avon surprised at her sharpness gave a weak nod.

"Are you hiding someone, let me see your memories. "

"Wai-"

Before he could protest she had already touched his forehead and withing a few seconds she was down.

Once she had withdrawn her hand she looked at him a very sad expression. Her eyes teared up and she gently embraced him,

"I am so sorry Avon, you had to face all that on your own, all the suffering you faced..."

Then she held his face between her hands and looked closely into his eyes,

"You have done very well to survive"

Saying so she kissed him on the forehead.
