Christian remained seated on the sofa, while Nina continued standing in front of him.
"Actually, I have something I want."
Her voice was hesitant.
"Yeah?"
"I want… a reward for my work."
Christian blinked. For some reason, the way she said it made her seem like a nervous child asking for a toy, but was afraid her daddy couldn't afford it.
"A reward?" he repeated quietly. "What kind of reward do you want?"
Christian had given Nina plenty over the years, from a salary worth millions to Essence knowledge, treasures, equipment, and whatever else she needed. Even though he hadn't seen her for more than a year, he had never stopped keeping an eye on her.
Still, if she wanted a reward, then he would give her one. He had never been stingy with his subordinates, especially those who had proven their loyalty to him.
