Jay looked at the beautifully arranged meal on the table. Then at the simple breakfast he had brought. He sighed dramatically, his shoulders slumping in exaggerated defeat. "I lost before the competition even started."
Hearing his words, even expressionless Winter covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. Her shoulders shook slightly and a tiny smile escaped despite her best efforts.
Bella quickly reached for another sandwich and held it toward Jay, her eyes warm and inviting. "Then... We can eat together."
Jay's gloomy face instantly brightened, his eyes widening with hope. "...Really?"
