Lee Ji-seo POV (Point Of View)
We got to Jeju Island, and I got off the bus. "Wow," I said, looking around. "What? You haven't seen houses before?" Taemin teased.
I rolled my eyes, "Of course I have. I've never been here before, that's why," I explained. "Okay, kids, let's head into the house," Our form teacher yelled. I heard groans around me as everyone picked up their bags and walked into the house.
"Lazy rich brats," Ha-ri sneered next to me. Taemin turned to her, "So what does that make you then?" She glared at him, "I'm different. I can carry my things without whining, unlike them," she said before passing her bag over to Dae, "But my sweet and caring boyfriend can't bear to see me struggling, so he decided to carry my things for me," she said with a smile.
Dae raised gave her a puzzled look, "When did I say that?" She shot him a warning look, and he got the message immediately and took her bag, along with his, inside.
I giggled at their interaction, "You're going to tire that boy out." Ha-ri turned to me with a smile. "Don't worry, Ji-seo. If you get a boyfriend, you would know how it feels to be treated as a princess," she nudged me before interlocking our arms and pulling us into the house.
"Okay, everyone, we will have 4 students in a room," our teacher stated. A student, who turned out to be Jaehyun, raised his hand and asked, "Would it be the opposite sex in a room?" He teased.
"Put your hand down. Obviously, it would be the same sex in a room. Are you trying to get me in trouble?" He said with a sigh. Everyone laughed, knowing that Jaehyun only wanted to aggravate him.
"So do we have to choose our roommate ourselves?" A girl from another class asked with her hand raised. "No need for that. I prepared a list of the students who are going to be in a room.
Everyone groaned again, clearly not approving of his idea. "You would have to bear, after all, we are just staying here for a week," he said before bringing out a book. He then started to call out names, and I noticed he mixed up students from different classes.
I turned to Ha-ri in shock, "Does that mean we would have to separate?" I whined. She turned to me with a pout, "I don't want to. Oh, a miracle should happen," she said before clamping her hands together in prayer and tightly closing her eyes.
I waited nervously for my name to be called, and then I heard it, "Ji-seo, Ha-ri..." The words left his mouth, and Ha-ri's eyes opened in excitement next to me, and I was trying to hold my excitement.
We looked at each other and did a telepatic celebration, until our joy was cut short when we heard the next names, "...Arin, and Chaeyoung in room 7."
My neck and Ha-ri's snapped to him in shock, "What??!" We both yelled. Our teacher looked back at the book in confusion, "Uh? It was supposed to be a mixed class in a room, but the Class A students are together."
The other form teacher that came with him stared at the book before shaking her head, "Well, that won't be an issue, right? Or who is willing to switch places with one of the girls in room 7?" She asked the girls.
They all looked at Arin, then Ha-ri; they looked at Arin again before shaking their heads, "No, it's fine."
"Okay then, girls. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you four would have to stay together. I mean, that's a good thing, right? You girls are from Class A, so there is familiarity between you four," she said before turning back to our form teacher.
"We both prayed to stay together, but at what cost?" Ha-ri sighed next to me. I nodded before glancing over to Arin, who was not looking happy at the arrangement. Like as if we're smiling from it.
Our form teacher started listing out the male roommates and finally got to Room 7: "Min-ho, Jaehyun, Taemin, and Dae in Room 7," he listed.
Taemin raised his eyebrow in confusion, but chose to stay silent. "Okay, so that's all. You guys should go and get some rest for tomorrow. We will do a lot of activities tomorrow, so you need to get enough rest. I'm the head of the female section, Ms Choi, and Mr Song is the head of the male section. If any of you have any issues, please let us know," Ms Choi said with a smile.
Arin raised her hand, "I have a question." We turned to her, wondering what would come out of that mouth of hers. "What's your question?" Ms Choi asked.
"Why couldn't we just stay in a hotel? Why did we have to stay here?" She said before looking around her in disgust.
"Because the school decided to let you guys step out of your comfort zone. It's not a bad place, so there isn't any issue," Ms Choi said softly. Arin scoffed, "Of course you would think that."
I rolled my eyes at her rudeness before raising my hands, trying to lift the atmosphere. "Yes, Ji-seo?" Mr Song asked. "What activities are we doing tomorrow?" I asked.
"We would be heading to Jeju Stone Park tomorrow, then after that we can go for some street food at Dongmun Market," he responded.
"What are we going to have for dinner?" A student asked, and everyone began whining about how hungry they are.
"Okay, everyone, go and place your bags in your room, and then we will have some barbecue for dinner," Mr Song announced. Everyone picked up their bags and started heading for their rooms.
I turned and saw Arin instructing Chaeyoung to take her bag to our room, to which she didn't hesitate to do.
I looked at Ha-ri to see her already staring at the encounter. "That's so weird. A couple of days ago, Chaeyoung didn't care about what Arin told her to do, but now she is acting like her maid," Ha-ri said in confusion.
"And Arin was treating her as somewhat of a friend then, but now, she's basically treating her like a maid. Something is definitely wrong. Should we find out what it is?" I asked Ha-ri.
Ha-ri nodded, "Yeah. Let's help her out," she said firmly before lifting her bag off the floor and walking to our room, with me following after her.
