Chapter 6 - Ananchel's City Lord

Cassiel glares down at the still sitting city lord, before finally asking his first questions.

"What is your name, and how is it you know who I am." He says, still glaring.

"I must say, my king, I'm a bit sad you don't remember me... I'm Daein, I was once your father's personal butler, and I was also your teacher when you were much, much younger." Daein, the city lord, says, still sitting.

"I see... it would make sense, however, my father took all the strong vampires to the human continent, Seraphim, to take it over... so why is it that he left you?" Cassiel says, taking a seat in front of Daein.

"It's because your father wasn't that dull minded. He still had a thought that there might be an unexpected variable which would cause him to lose. So he left me here, I was supposed to lead the kingdom in his stead, however the citizens of Rampiel didn't find me fit since I'm not a royal." Daein says, hiding his face in shame.

"Alright, it's a bit unexpected, but if you already know who I am that makes things easier. Now, tell me, why is it that those humans have almost broken through the gates here? Also who is that man with the long, blonde hair. We exchanged attacks and he seems to be just a bit stronger than me."

"Please say that again... I don't see how anyone could be stronger than you other than your father, my king."

"Listen, I only have around twenty percent of my power right now. I was locked away so long that it's gonna take a while for me to regain it all. So answer my question." Cassiel says, shaking his head in embarrassment.

"Right... the city has been losing ground the last couple of days because of that man, which speaking of... I'm sure of it now. He's Rael Hael's son, the same man that took on your entire family all at once." Daein says, twiddling his fingers in nervous succession.

This leaves Cassiel shocked. He knew that Falvi had gave off the same energy as him, but he didn't think for a moment he could possibly be his son as Falvi wasn't even close to Rael's strength. If it were a numbers game, Falvi would be around five percent of what Rael is capable of.

"This... this is absurd..." Cassiel cuffs his hands around his face before dragging them off, thinking of what to do.

"He's going to return. That man, Falvi, I mean... I'm going to need some new clothes, Daein." Cassiel says, looking down at his body as he's only wearing clothes on his lower half.

"New... clothes...? That's what you're worried about..?" Daein says, confused

"Listen, I would've won if I wasn't out here walking around in rags, ok?"

"Yes, of course my king. Allow me to take you to the best blacksmith we have here, although he doesn't compare to the best on this continent, he should be able to give you some worthy gear to wear for your next encounter with him." Daein says, ending the conversation as he gets up out of his chair to lead the way.

.....

.....

After walking for about fifteen minutes, the two of them, wearing cloaks, end up in a run down alley before finally making it to a broke down shop in the far corner of the city.

"You're joking... right?" Cassiel says, confused.

"Sir, this isn't the time for me to be joking around. Follow me in, you'll see what I mean." Daein says, entering the shop first with Cassiel following just behind.

Entering the shop, Cassiel is immediately taken aback by the several high quality weapons stashed on the walls.

Ranging from axes, swords, daggers, shields, all the way to bows, crossbows, throwing knives, this shop has all the weapon types one could think of.

"This is... astonishing." Cassiel says, still amazed by the works.

As Daein and Cassiel reach the counter of the shop, they are met by a tall and vigorously muscular vampire that towers far above them.

"Grab whatever it is you want off my walls, and hurry up, I need to finish my next weapon." The man says in a rough, deep voice.

"No, I need you to make me a weapon." Cassiel says, taking off his cloak.

"I am Cassiel Aeternus, the last of Cain's children, and the king of Rampiel."

"As if... who do you take me for, boy?" The man says, glaring down at Cassiel.

This causes Daein to take his cloak off as well, showing himself as the city lord.

"Hildric, Cassiel tells the truth. You need to make him a weapon and armor to suit. He is going to fight for our city and continent as a whole, and as of this moment you are the only one capable of making him the best gear for the battle." Daein says, glaring up at the man as he exudes a menacing amount of mana.

"I apologize, my lord... and to you too, my king. I promise I will make you gear to the best of my ability, and I pray you are able to defeat those humans as well. Come back in a day, that's the fastest I can do." Hildric says, before walking to the back of his shop to prepare.

"Let us take our leave, my king." Daein says, before turning to leave, which has Cassiel scoff before he does the same.

"Whatever... I need to speak to the remaining vampires under me anyways." Cassiel says, leaving the shop completely.
