"Grandpa, can you also fight like Daddy?"
Ava sat on Victor's arm while he held her up with one hand. She had been asking questions since they sat down, and Victor answered each one without complaint.
"Of course, sweetheart," Victor said with a confident smile. "Who do you think taught your daddy?"
Ava's eyes widened immediately.
"Woooow!"
Across from them, Svetlana gave Victor a side glance that clearly said really?
Victor waved his hand dismissively.
The truth was complicated. He had trained Damon, but saying he created him was another story. Damon learned quickly, and many of his habits came from experimenting on his own. Even back when Victor sent him to Thailand to train, Damon returned with new ideas and combinations of techniques Victor had never taught him.
Over time Damon built his own style, mixing everything he learned from boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, and other martial arts. Watching it develop had been impressive.
