"Ahhh what is that? It's so pink and fleshy! Where's it's scales and claws?!" Tranus says loudly his tone saturated with sarcasm.
"Did that thing just. . . Insult me?" Rudy says
"That thing is a god, one of thousands, possibly millions," Milo interjects as Tranus and Xia watches on mildly amused by Rudy's reaction, "and he's a Reptilent an alien race."
"DON'T START WITH YOUR BULLSHIT! I KNOW THAT'S A MONSTER!" Rudy shouts, "right Ruby?" Rudy looks to his sister.
"He's ... Uh ... Uh ...He's telling the truth," Ruby says looking away.
The revelation seems to hit Rudy like a physical blow. His face contorts with a mixture of confusion, anger, and a growing sense of dread. His jaw drops open, but for a long moment, no sound comes out. When he finally manages to speak, his voice is a hoarse, trembling whisper.
"Th - th - thousands? Millions? You... you're lying! There's only one god! Verbilixa. She... she chose us! She gave us... gave us..."
He stumbles over his words, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides.
"Omnipresence and omniscience, yeah, we know," Tranus drawls, rolling his eyes. "Big deal. In the grand scheme of things, you two are like ants with shiny new toys."
Rudy's eyes widen at the insult, his face turning a deep shade of red. But before he can retort, his legs suddenly give way beneath him. He staggers forward a few steps.
"I... I need to... to sit..." his voice trails off as his knees buckle completely.
"Timber!" Milo says loudly as Rudy hits the floor "someone start the count because he is out," Milo mocks.
"So why are you here?" Tranus ask addressing Ruby.
"Before your darling ex-wife and I ended up here I contacted them because they're looking for Verbilixa to help her" Milo interjects, "though I got stabbed a few minutes later"
"Wait wait wait, you said you found the goddess, all I see here is another god, an asshole and a child," Ruby says.
"Don't interrupt unless you want to get slapped again," Milo says, "now as I was saying before I so rudely interrupted."
"Wait. I just noticed you had popcorn. Why?" Tranus ask.
"That's because I was enjoying the show, better than a soap opera," Milo says continuing before anyone can say anything.
"Using magic I activated a door based teleportation spell with the specifications that it be isolated and free of humans, that brings us to here, with the child goddess, her ex-husband, and the three omni-holders" Milo finishes.
"So what you're telling me this little girl is the goddess who bestowed our powers on us is ...." Ruby cant even verbilize her own disbelief.
"Serious Xia dear, this was the best you could manage as vessels to store you abilities?" Tranus ask Xia looking at her who sneers at her ex-husband.
"I was leaking divine energy by the moment, those three were the only ones with the karma prerequisites, and impending birthdays to act as vessels on such short notice, so unlike someone who can create a vassel from a person on the edge of death I operate a bit differently," Xia says, "and I don't sleep with my spouses high priestess," she adds a jab at Tranus.
"Ok i'm a bit more lost, I thought we were chosen for a higher purpose?" Ruby ask.
"Wait until you find out that extracting the power we were given will quite possibly kill us," Milo says before shoving a handful of popcorn in his mouth.
"WHAT! KILL US!?" Ruby shouts.
"Oops," Milo says with his mouth full of popcorn.
