Chapter 22 - A NIGHT OUT

Saturday night had finally arrived.

After dinner, Radhika went into the room to get ready for the pub. When Rudra entered a little later, he froze.

The whole bed was filled with her dresses.

"What is this mess?" he asked, shocked.

Radika, holding two outfits, said with excitement, "Sir, it's my first time going to a pub. I'm so excited… I don't have any clothes!"

Rudra stared at her, completely stunned. The bed was overflowing with clothes, yet she was saying she didn't have any. For a moment, he didn't even know what to reply.

After a while, as she picked her final dress, Radika suddenly asked,

"Sir, did you tell aunty that we are going out?"

"No," Rudra said calmly. "If I say, she will ask where… and we can't tell her we are going to a pub."

Radika's eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Then how about… we sneak out at night?"

Rudra agreed since he had no choice. After his mom went to sleep, the two of them carefully sneaked out of the house and got into his car.

When they reached the pub and stepped inside, both of them stopped for a moment.

The hall was filled with colorful lights that kept flashing around. Loud music from the DJ shook the place, and many people were dancing in the middle. Some were sitting at tables, laughing and talking loudly.

Radika's face lit up. "Wow, sir… it's just like in movies!"

Rudra frowned a little at the noise. "Hmm… let's just sit somewhere."

They walked to a corner table away from the crowd. The waiter came over and handed them a menu.

Radika's eyes sparkled as she looked at the drinks list. "Should we try something new?"

Rudra raised an eyebrow. "Like what? Don't forget, I have to drive back."

She giggled and pointed at a colorful mocktail. "Fine, you take something safe. I'll try…" her finger stopped on a cocktail name she couldn't even pronounce. "This one!"

Rudra gave her a doubtful look. "Are you sure?"

"Of course, sir. Don't stop me today!" she said with a playful smile.

The waiter nodded and left.

While waiting, Radika's eyes wandered to the dance floor. The colorful lights kept flashing, and the crowd moved in rhythm with the DJ's beats.

Her eyes widened with excitement. "Sir… let's go dance!"

Rudra looked at her as if she had gone crazy. "What? No way."

"Come on, it'll be fun! We can just try, no one even knows us here." She tugged his hand lightly, her smile full of mischief.

Rudra sighed. "You're acting like a kid again."

"Exactly! Then keep up with this kid," she laughed, pulling him toward the floor.

Radika started moving clumsily but happily, swaying with the rhythm. "See? Easy!" she shouted over the music.

Rudra stood stiff for a moment, clearly uncomfortable, but when he saw her laughing without a care, a faint smile tugged at his lips. He gave in, moving just a little with her.

Radika beamed. "That's it, sir! You're not so bad."

Just then, the waiter arrived with their drinks, and they went back to the table.

Radika's glass sparkled with ice cubes and fruit slices, while Rudra had a simple soda.

She took a sip and made a face. "Oh… it's bitter."

Rudra smirked. "I told you."

But after a few more sips, she started giggling at nothing, her cheeks turning pink. "Sir… this music… it's making my heart dance!" she said, waving her hands in the air like a child.

Rudra sighed, leaning back in his chair. "You're impossible…"

Radhika kept drinking and started laughing at small things. She leaned forward and looked at Rudra.

"Sir… don't be so serious. Smile once," she said slowly.

Rudra just shook his head. Before he could reply, she came a little closer to his face.

"Do you remember… you asked me one day if I regret this marriage?" she said in a soft voice.

Rudra looked at her, waiting for answer, "Yes, I asked," he said clamly.

Radika gave a small smile. "I will tell you the answer now…"

But before she could finish, her eyes closed and she fell on his chest.

"Radika…" Rudra called, holding her. She didn't reply. She was already asleep.

Rudra sighed. "Troublesome girl," he said, but he placed his hand gently on her shoulder.

At the same time, someone from the bar was watching them. That person's eyes followed the two quietly, but neither Rudra nor Radhika realized they were being watched.

Rudra paid the bill and carried Radhika in his arms to the car. Her head rested against his shoulder, completely asleep.

In the dark, that person slowly followed them until Rudra drove away.
