"Uhm, hi. I'm Police Officer Allegra. Are you okay now, sir?" I said softly to make them know that I care for the guy who was given ice to soothe the pain from the punch earlier.
The other two guys, who seemed to be his friends, smiled at me and extended their hands. I shook them to acknowledge their greetings.
"Pleasure to meet you, Officer," the two guys said in unison. The guy earlier still ignored me. His messy red hair hid the emotions in his eyes.
"I'm Calvin Ferrer, and these are my friends, Cassander Del Valle and Lukas Axworthy," said the blonde-haired, handsome man, with a captivating smile. He looks like a playboy.
He then pointed to the guy next to him, who had soft brown hair, with smooth features, was neat looking, and looked so kind—an ideal type of Ailith. Then, he points at the guy who was the opposite of Cassander. It was the red-haired guy who got into a fight. He looks Italian.
The red-haired guy, with his messy hair and intense gaze, seemed to exude a sense of mystery and danger. His rugged appearance was a stark contrast to the neat and kind-looking Cassander, making him stand out even more in the group.
He has an imposing aura when he wears his serious expression. He's more like my type. But he doesn't like me, by the way he just looked at me like he was disgusted.
"Nice meeting you too," I said with a polite smile. Even though the red-haired guy doesn't like me, the other two treated me politely.
The two smiled, but the red-haired one still looked at me disgustingly. The f*ck is wrong with this guy! I didn't do anything bad to him.
I inhaled deeply, kept my cool, and maintained my polite smile in front of them.
"Bro, you should thank the one who saved you earlier. If you had just let us help you earlier, then you would not have been saved by a girl," the Calvin guy said to the stubborn Lukas guy.
My ears were ringing when I heard what he said. He just said, 'saved by a girl,' not 'saved by a stranger or an officer.' There's something wrong with what he said. Is he discriminating against me?
Sh*t! This is the type of people I hate the most. I never dreamed of meeting someone like him.
My smile remains polite as I look at them. I was like a customer support agent who had to smile at an irate customer. I hid my forming fist in my back so they won't notice me getting agitated with this.
"Why are you a police officer? You're not suited for that job; it's a man's job. Women should only stay in the house, support the family, and do the light chores because they're weak. Look at your arms. You look like you can't even lift a finger. Just go home," said the Lukas guy, which made me take aback.
Finally! The 'knocked down guy' said something. And it wasn't delightful to hear that I could feel my ears ringing again.
I was speechless for a moment, as I hadn't expected that. Oh well, birds with the same feathers flock together. I bet this kind-looking guy is also one of them.
My patience ran out because I immediately retorted to him.
"Says the man who was just saved by a woman. What are you called then? Aren't you weak for a man?" I said sarcastically and smirked at him.
I saw him grit his teeth, and that's why I grinned widely. I want to kill this guy with nothing but words.
I let my face get closer to his face and stared at his deep eyes to let him see that I was winning. I was smiling ear to ear. His eyes widened in surprise, and I could see the anger boiling beneath the surface. In that moment, I knew I had gotten under his skin, and it felt like a small victory.
"You should ask for help from your friends here next time. Asking for help doesn't diminish your masculinity. Just make sure you don't need a girl to save you again, right, Mr. Ferrer?" I said that sweetly to the Lukas guy, and after that, I looked at the Calvin guy with my last words.
I saw him gulp down his saliva when he realized I was mocking him with what he said earlier. You just realized that you said those words, didn't you?
I composed myself and fixed my posture, smiling wickedly at them. "For your information, to be clear, I only approached you to ask if you are fine, Mr. Axworthy. I didn't ask for your thanks. If what I did hurts your pride, I'll leave. It's NOT A PLEASURE meeting you, male chauvinist pigs." I said it, emphasizing the words with a sharp tone, to make sure they understood my disdain for their behavior. With that, I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving them stunned in my wake.
"Tss. A*sholes." I muttered along the way and shook my head in disbelief.
I let out a huge sigh. I should follow my friends to the station.

"So, was the injury bad, Av?" I was met with a worried Blyana upon my arrival at our office.
I shook my head and let out a sigh. I passed by Ailith, who was also greeting me at the door. I sat down together with Feyre on our couch.
The two immediately followed suit and sat down on the other couch in front of us.
"What happened, Av? Has something wrong happened on the way here?" Ailith asked me, worry evident in her face.
I faintly smiled at them. They really know me. They know when I'm feeling bad and down. Although I am grateful for their concern for me, they don't need to know about the unpleasant situation earlier.
"Nothing personal, just tired from that issue earlier. If only there were no troublemakers, we could have enjoyed our girls' night out all the way home."
"Aww. We still enjoyed our night, though. At least there are no more large-scale missions for now. No stress, just in the office working on some minor documents," said the optimist Feyre. We know she's had the worst and most tiring job since she was our intel, traveling from place to place.
I opened my arms, and the girls immediately pulled me into a group hug. How I love these girls.
