Zhan Nanjue was slightly taken aback, then asked, "Dr. Gong hasn't arrived yet?"
"Yeah, didn't you say earlier you were going to pick her up? How come you didn't come together?" the principal said.
"Dr. Gong drove to the school alone twenty minutes ago," Zhan Nanjue said.
"That long? That's very strange, it's only a three-minute drive," the principal said in surprise. "Could she have gotten lost? This place isn't like your big city, the roads are narrow and winding, and there's not even basic signage. Everything looks about the same in all directions; it's easy for outsiders to lose their way."
"Isn't there GPS in the car? She shouldn't have gotten lost, right?" Zhan Nanjue said, but his heart twisted tightly. A sense of foreboding simmered within him.
