Nora didn't find anything worth looking at downstairs, so she turned back to look at Peter again.
Her gaze was deep and meaningful. "Pete, if you have something on your mind, you can come to me anytime."
Peter paused.
Nora smiled. "You've grown up and are keeping things to yourself now."
Afraid that she would see through him, Peter hurriedly lowered his head.
Nora didn't interrogate him. Instead, she turned around and left.
Peter heaved a sigh of relief.
He lowered his head again and looked downstairs.
Coincidentally, Mia was eating cake while he was sizing her up from time to time from the corner of his eye. Their gazes instantly collided.
Peter was shocked and saw that Mia seemed to have been surprised too. She hurriedly retracted her gaze and even choked on the cake in her panic.
Beside her, Tanya patted her back and couldn't help but laugh at her. "Why are you so anxious? No one's going to snatch your cake. Who dares to snatch it from you?"
