Yan and the other spectators looked on with dread as the massive Boneclaws forced their way out of the mine, not caring for each other or Taub and Lahso. It was a rampaging flood of monsters.
Lahso cut down at least one with each stroke of his blade, and Taub kept several of them occupied at any given moment, either by holding and pummeling them or by becoming a perch for them to grab.
However, the swarm was apparently bigger than anyone had expected. Lahso and Taub weren't enough to block off the extended entrance. They did a lot, and many Boneclaws suffered from the spikes. Some just got their armor scratched. Others had it peeled off their bodies like coconut shells, exposing the dark crimson flesh beneath. A rare few ended up pierced and stuck when the spikes got lucky and managed to sneak past the gaps in their armor.
But for every Boneclaw that didn't make it out of the extended exit, two or three did.
